Driver's-side and passenger's-side hydraulic drum brakes feature a single-plunger design. Automotive-grade friction pads and e-coated backing plates are long-lasting. Fit 14", 14", and 15" wheels.

Features:

  • Hydraulic drum brake assemblies are designed for use with a surge-type trailer brake actuator
  • Automotive-grade friction material is molded to brake shoes
    • Pads are fully bonded - not riveted - to shoes for long life and more braking torque
    • Less chance of cracking and crumbling that can lead to mechanical lockup, thanks to tapered edge and circular grinding
  • Periodic manual adjustment required
    • Fine-tooth brake adjustment gears allow for a more precise setting
  • E-coated backing plates resist wear and corrosion
  • Single plunger design
  • Adjuster plugs (included) cover access holes to keep dirt and grime out of the assemblies and off of the shoes
  • Left-hand (driver's-side) brake assembly, right-hand (passenger's-side) brake assembly, and mounting bolts included
    • Nuts and lock washers (BRKH10B) sold separately

  • Axle rating: 3,500 lbs

These trailer brake assemblies act as part of your trailer's hydraulic braking system. A hydraulic trailer brake actuator is required for these brakes to function.

Thoroughly Tested for Safety

These brake assemblies meet the requirements for certification by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). The CSA creates standards, which when complied with ensure a safe and quality product. These brake assemblies underwent extensive testing to measure stopping distances when braking. These brakes have also been tested by QAI for braking performance in a complete automotive setup and under real-world conditions to provide the most realistic scenario for the everyday driver.

Automotive-Grade Friction Material

Each shoe on these brake assemblies is lined with automotive-grade friction material for improved stopping performance and longevity. The friction material is fully bonded onto the surface of the brake shoe. This lining is custom-molded for a perfect fit. The edges are tapered to ensure long-lasting performance. This taper, along with the circular grinding that the lining undergoes, helps to prevent cracking and crumbling. This durability helps to prevent mechanical lockup, which can occur when brake shoes are excessively worn or broken.

The friction material is also SAE-N certified, which means that it is an environmentally safe product that complies with California and Washington regulations regarding the composition of brake pads. As a result, this material not only provides high-performance braking that can endure the test of time, but it is also environmentally friendly and safe for use throughout the United States and Canada.

The ordering process was easy. The price was reasonable. The product was exactly what I wanted. I have more parts I need to order for my trailer and I will use etrailer when I do.

Received the hubs, drums bearings and bearing buddies and installed. The parts were exactly what I needed. A big thanks to Adam for all his help. Will definitely use etrailer again. Many thanks.

Very grateful these were available, as I couldn’t locate locally. The only problem was the backing plate hardware didn’t match my Eagle boat trailer, ( my original backing plates had captivated nuts ) but very glad to have trailer brakes again Thank you, Ray Wolfbrandt Boyne city, Michigan

This product made a huge difference on my boat trailer. The pressed studs are good and "bad" on my opinion. The set I replaced had a standard nut and bolt to attached the assembly. The studs are great, but forced me to use a wrench instead of impact to tighten the nuts on because there isnt enough clearance on my application for a socket. Installed fairly easy and there is a noticable difference in stopping ability. To be fair, the set a relaxed had no braking material and was simply metal to metal. I would def purchase again if needed. Great customer service as well. I got an email to let me know the product shipped, and something I havent experienced before, I also received an email from someone to let me know the parts were delivered!

These are reasonably priced and they were easy to install. they work well even when wet. The only thing that would have made them 5 star would have been to have stainless springs like most marine brakes.

Hey matched 100% I couldn’t ask for anything more with the price for the two of them!

- AKUBRK-35
by:

These brake kits are a great solution instead of trying to piece together an old, rusty set up. I did R & R the new brake shoes just so I can lubricate the backing plate where the shoes ride and I did have to drill a 3/8" hole in each backing plate for the water flush fitting. That's just me. Other than that these were a breeze to install and could very well be installed as-is right out of the box.

- AKUBRK-35
by:

Only down side is when used on drop axel they are hard to adjust due to a 8 small notches in the manual adjuster.

  • Hydraulic Brake Assembly Recommendation for Trailer with 10 inch Diameter Drums
Yes, the hydraulic brake assembly part # AKUBRK-35L is the correct assembly you need for the left side of the trailer. For a set that includes both sides of the axle what you need is the part # AKUBRK-35. These assemblies are for the standard 10 inch brake assemblies that are found on 3,500 lb axles.

  • Free Backing Hydraulic Brakes for a 3,500 Lb. Axle
The Hydraulic Trailer Brake Kit part # AKUBRK-35 (part # AKUBRK-35R + part # AKUBRK-35L) does not have a free backing design. They have a single servo design which means you would need a reverse lockout on your trailer coupler in order to reverse the trailer. Instead, you will want to use the Hydraulic Trailer Brake Kit part # AKFBBRK-35 which does have a free backing design and will allow you to reverse without a reverse lockout.

I've checked the 154755414 s/n you provided with Dexter, who tells me you have a standard 3500 lb axle. No. There won't be a difference in the # AKUBRK-35R from front to back, but there is a difference between the Left and Right Hand assemblies. This particular brake is for the right hand side (passenger) of the trailer. The corresponding brake for the driver's side would be # AKUBRK-35L or you can buy the complete set with # AKUBRK-35.
