Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. And today, we're taking a look at this Blue Ox adjustable trailer coupler lock. Now, your trailer can't be removed from your tow vehicle when locked onto a ball, and would-be thieves can't secure your unhitched trailer to their tow vehicle with the coupler locked either. So, this coupler lock is going to secure the trigger latch on your trailer's coupler to deter theft. It's going to secure a most latch style trailer couplers and surge brake couplers that lock through the body.
And this stainless steel pin tumbler cylinder adjust incrementally from 7/8 of an inch to 3 1/2 inches along this notched 1/4 inch diameter stainless steel shank. And a quarter turn from one of the keys is going to lock and unlock the head. With just a quarter turn, and that's going to lock it into place. This swivel head, side entry lock housing is gonna make locking and unlocking very easy. And the lock head cannot be false locked or popped open.
Again, this is stainless steel construction all the way through. So, it's going to prevent rust and corrosion. Included with this are gonna be two keyed alike keys as you see here. And this is going to work with trigger latch style or lever latch style. It's gonna work with sleeve lock and surge brake couplers.
Now, the overall length of this coupler lock is sitting right at six, six inches long overall. And the usable pin length, or the span is gonna be 7/8 of an inch, 2 1/2 inches, or 3 1/2 inches. And again, the pin diameter is a quarter of an inch. This is made in the USA. And that's gonna conclude our look today.

This product is amazing. Works perfectly with my boat trailer and is made of very high quality materials and finishes. Since it’s adjustable it can accommodate different trailer widths. I feel safe when this is locked and secured on my trailer. I would highly recommend this product.

Supposedly an adjustable lock but only works on the largest setting which means if you have something smaller it leaves it vulnerable to bolt cutters. Virtually worthless because of this

- Can Blue Ox Adjustable Trailer Coupler Lock Be Trimmed?If you want to trim off the excess part of the shaft for the Blue Ox Adjustable Trailer Coupler Lock # BLU56XR you are more than welcome to - I just recommend keeping at least one extra segment in place. Really the only reason to not trim it is for longevity sake. If you end up getting a trailer that requires that part of the lock to be longer then you'll need to purchase a new lock instead of being able to use this same lock. I like your honesty. It is a sad fact that any lock can be defeated if a person is determined enough. We consider the locks to be a theft deterrent against an easy theft.
