Lock functions well though after a year it is corroding which is a disappointment as this is why I purchased a stainless steel lock
Potential buyers should be aware that the barrels on the ends have a large enough diameter that might prevent its use on your trailer--as it did mine. The lock does appear to have a good build quality though; and, if it fit I would use it.

Another cleverly designed, high-quality product from DeadBolt. I was able to get this item keyed alike with other products from this company such as the hitch receiver lock and the trailer coupler lock. Thumbs way up.
This has been a great lock for my hitch. No rust, and a solid little lock. The 1/2" version fit perfect on my Bulldog hitch. The 7/8" lock was a bit too long, so be sure to measure. I also got the larger receiver lock, also in stainless, and also a fantastic lock. You can get both locks keyed the same so there's one less key to worry about. Highly recommended!
Great products - arrived quickly!
I purchased this for my Keystone Laredo Travel Trailer. I could not use this in my application because the side barrels were too big to close the latch. (the locking hole was too close to the hitch structure) I feel that this is a quality lock and liked the Stainless construction. I believe that it would have worked great and saved it for future trailers. I purchased a locking assembly from another company for my travel trailer. Small Company, best lock out there for this application. E-Trailer should sell these.
So easy to install. Insert key in one end and twist other end to separate parts for install or remove. SS should eliminate rust concern.
This is a good unit, I have one like it for the receiver. However, this one doesn't fit my trailer. The large diameter ends are too big to fit. My coupler doesn't have enough height between the center of the hole and the top of the coupler head. It would be helpful to include this measurement on the description and/or video. I feel that my coupler is a common size/style but cannot use this device.
Product construction is very good. At the time of purchase, I did not realize the different type of locking mechanism. The unit locks using a 1/4-20 stud threading into the shaft portion of the lock. A bit weird at first use, but got used to it. I did contact eTrailer and asked some questions. The rep was very nice and down to earth.
The lock is well built and easy to use.
Product is good--However a couple of problems--in very cold / snowy weather, as experienced in northern Ontario, Canada, lock can freeze up. Needed to heat the key and lock with a lighter, then try to insert the heated key to thaw the workings. Then sprayed in lock thaw product. Yes, the rubber / plastic protective end cap was in place prior to trying to unlock.
I bought this to compliment a trailer and receiver lock that I had purchased earlier and had it keyed to match. Worked great and etrailers customer service was excellent, as always.
Did not fit my coupler because the diameter of the two main barrels are too big and would not allow the lock to line up through the couplers hole. Otherwise a quality lock, I would have liked to keep it.

Doesn't fit my camper or sure-trac trailer coupler due to the end being so big. The width is good but can't install when coupler is latched.

I ordered several at the same time so that I could get them keyed the same. They were. They fit my trailers as planned. Now I will see if they can withstand the "test of time". Being stainless I hope they do.

Feels like a high quality lock. Love that's it's stainless steel. It's a little cumbersome to use the key like a screwdriver and unscrew the lock head though. Bonus that they can be keyed alike with the same brand.
Like the design, but had lost the keys and had to break them. Literally one hit with a hammer and the broke off. They keep honest people honest, but are a low grade level of protection.
This was a lot lighter than I expected but a lot more sturdy build than the yellow, red and black plastic ones i've used (I'm leaving out brand names but these colors should help). Like all of them I'm concerned about how brittle the material gets in the cold of winter in Alaska but like anything, if somebody wants it they will get it.
Nice quality coupler lock. Nicer than other name brand locks. Hopefully it will resist corrosion as advertised.
