Speaker 1: Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the over the seal strap henge from Polar Hardware. This unit is designed to bridge door molding or a door seal. It is made in the USA and made from high quality steel. It's embossed for greater strength and it features a zinc plated finish, which is gonna keep it safe from rust and corrosion. It does come with the non-removable pin. This is a half inch diameter pin, non removable for maximum security.
Installation hardware not included. A few measurements I want to go over with you real quick, that way you ensure this is gonna work for you. The overall length of the unit measuring from this edge right here to the very end of the strap, when I did that, I got a measurement of about 19 1/4 inches long. The strap itself from the center of the pin to the end of the strap measured 16 inches long. The width of the strap, edge to edge this direction, that measures 2 inches wide.
The mount holes on the strap, there's three of them right here.These are separated on center apart from one another, about 5 1/8 of an inch. Here at the bracket, I do want to point out too that it really does offer nice movement. I don't feel much kinking or binding. It's got a really nice, easy motion to it. But the bracket itself has an overall width measurement from this point here to this point there, it's gonna measure about 4 1/2 inches wide.
From the center of the pin to the back edge of the bracket, that measured 3 inches. These mount holes right here are separated on center by 3 1/4 inches and then the diagonal measurement between this one and this one is gonna be the same for this one and this one at 2 1/8 inches. Last measurement I want to give you is simply the gap. So if you look, you can see that from about this point right here to this point right here, there's a gap. So again, this is a over the seal strap henge.
That gap from this point to this point was about 3 3/8 of an inch long.All the mount holes on this unit are designed to accept 5 1/16 inch diameter hardware. That's gonna do it for today's look at the Polar Hardware over the seal strap henge.

Looks like a very sturdy hinge. Box has a huge hole in it thankfully there was no small parts to loose.

The hinge is a little different than the one on the trailer, but I think that it will be better in the long run.

- Weight Rating Of Seal Strap HingeI checked with my contact at the manufacturer regarding the Over the Seal Strap Hinge # PLR2116. It does not have a particular weight rating. This unit is designed to bridge door molding or a door seal. It is made in the USA and made from high quality steel. For a move heavy duty product I recommend Hinge # PLR109-SS to mount your swinging barn doors.

From the center of the hinge to the holes going down the shaft is 3-1/2", 9", and 14-1/2" respectively. So the measurement you're looking for is about 3 inches from the center of the hinge to the end of the bend. From the center of the hinge to the three holes on the bracket are 1-1/4" for both the top and bottom holes while 2-1/2" for the center hole. We do not modify, these are sold as is. We do have an aluminum one...
