Video Transcript for Comprehensive Review: Rubber Lip Seal for RV Compartment Doors

Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com Today we're gonna take a look at this 15 foot long push on thin side lip rubber seal for RVs and enclosed trailers. I want to zoom in and show you a close-up of this seal itself. This is a rubber push on, thin side lip seal and it's used to prevent water from leaking into doors on your RV or enclosed trailer. This type of seal is commonly found in the Jayco Seneca and Precept motorhomes. Also the Jayco Whitehall trailer storage compartment doors and many more.

You can see right here, it's designed to fit onto a 1/16 inch to 1/8 inch thick flange and they do recommend a tucking tool to aid in installation. Helps install this. We do sell that tool separately on our website and it's listed on this product page as a related product. Now this is a push on seal. It's manufactured with a nice segmented steel core.

If you look real close you can see the steel core in it. Makes a seal ideal for a variety of dynamic applications. You just simply push on this rubber seal to create a nice tight fit and protect your RV from any wind, dust and water. The rubber it's made of is a nice highly wear and weather resistant rubber. Protects your RV from extreme weather and pests.

Few dimensions on this, the length we mentioned is 15 feet. The width of this from one side to the other is 7/8 of an inch. Total overall height is a 1/2 inch tall. And this part is made in the USA. But that should do it.

This product was easy to install and sealed the doors as well as the original seals.

by:

First of all this seal stopped the leak. It was easy to install. The only issue I have had is that the basement doors are really hard to shut and I must make sure they are completely latched or they sometimes pop open going down the road. Had the previous owner cared enough to purchase new seals I might not have experienced all the water damage that I had to repair.

  • Weather Stripping and Drip Rail for Side Mounted Trailer Door
We do offer drip rail which we sell in 10 foot lengths as part # SR83FR. For the door edges, I'd use # SR92FR which is available in 15 foot lengths. I've linked to product description vides that you might find helpful.

  • How Can I Determine Which Replacement Seal I Need For My RV Refrigerator Freezer Door?
We do have plenty of seals to choose from, however without knowing what kind of seal you have currently I won't be able to make an accurate recommendation. To figure out what kind of seal you're going to need, you're going to need to cut off a piece of seal and measure its length width and height, as well as take down what kind of seal it is. For instance, if you measured 7/8" wide, and 1/2" long, and needed a push-on style seal, then the Rubber Lip Seal for RV Compartment Doors - Press-On...

  • Replacement Door Seal for RV Compartment
The door seal on those compartments is not something that is universal. The only way to find a replacement is to match it up with what you have. You may need a press-on seal like the # SR92FR which measures 15' long x 7/8" wide x 1/2" tall. You may need a stick-on seal like the # SR88FR which measures 20' long x 3/8" wide x 3/16" tall. • Adding Brakes To A 5 x 8 Utility Trailer With 5 Lug Hubs
It may be possible to change our your 5 lug hubs for a 6 lug and add brakes. It ultimately comes down to the size of your axle/spindles and what hubs will fit on the spindle. We would need to confirm the axle capacity, and inner and outer bearing numbers in order to recommend hubs. You would also need to add on a brake flange like the # 4-35, if flanges are not present on the axle. Adding brake flanges is best done by a professional. For example, if you have a 3,500 lb axle, this uses...
