The B&W Tow & Stow adjustable ball mount lets you tow a variety of trailers with different tongue heights. Having a 1-7/8" ball, a 2" ball and a 2-5/16" ball allows for even more versatility, making this the ultimate go-to ball mount if you own multiple trailers.
To switch the hitch ball, simply remove the pin holding the balls in place and rotate the entire block that the balls are mounted on until the ball you want to use is on top. Then replace the pin to secure the block in place.
Adjusting the height of the ball is just as easy. Remove the pins holding the ball mount platform in place and slide the platform up or down along the shank to the desired position. Once you have found the correct height, reinsert the pins and replace the clips.
When you're not towing, you can flip the ball mount platform around and stow it beneath your hitch so that you won't bang your shins. Just remove the pins to slide the ball platform down along the channel and up the back side so that the hitch balls face towards your vehicle. Then replace the pins.
The Tow & Stow ball mount features a channel that runs along both sides of the shank. This channel not only allows you to slide the ball mount platform up and down to adjust the ball height, but it also prevents removal of the platform when the ball mount is installed, which will help prevent theft of your trailer.
A slot is cut into the adjustment channel near the top of the shank. To remove the ball mount platform from the shank you will need to remove the entire ball mount from your hitch. Then remove the pins that hold the platform in place. Flip the platform around to the stowed position on the rear of the shank, and then slide it up until the center pin lines up with the slot in the shank. Pull the platform out towards the rear of the shank until the pin pops out of the adjustment channel.
When the Tow & Stow is secured in your hitch receiver, you will not be able to remove the ball mount platform. This is because the slot in the shank is positioned in such a way that the collar on your hitch will block the pin on the platform from being able to leave the channel. Even if the pins holding the ball mount platform in place are removed, the platform will still be confined to this channel. So, as long as a hitch lock is used to secure the entire ball mount in your hitch receiver, and a coupler lock is used to prevent your trailer's coupler from being disengaged from the ball, your trailer will be secure.

I love this hitch! I do wish the company had offered different ball positions. This is a tall hitch for a tall vehicle, which mine is. But if I back into a parking space with a decline to the curb, I can easily dig a rut with the lower ball, the way they are arranged. Of course, this is with no trailer, so I could just move things. But it normally stays at the height my boat trailer needs, so... I could cut the lower ball off but the idea makes me cringe. LOL I still love it. Btw, there is no rattle what-so-ever without any anti-rattle parts.
Great hitch. I bought the 3 ball with 8" drop hitch. My utility trailer needs it almost all the way down. My boat trailer needs it almost all the way up on my Chevy 2500HD. The only time I have removed it was to install a Pintle hitch one day to haul a trailer for a tractor. Tip: Use silicone spray on the adjustable pins. Use of lithium grease fouls them up so it's difficult to remove and reinstall them (collects dirt, dust). Also lubricate your hitch lock monthly, or you won't be able to open it if you ever want to remove the hitch.
CaptQ - 09/08/2017Made installing my brake controller a snap. Simply plugged one end in the plug under my dash and the other end into my controller. Use some zip ties for wire management and DONE. If your vehicle is already wired for a brake controller and you want to put in an after market controller then spend the extra few bucks and get the pre-made wire from etrailer. Well worth it!
I would like to split my review into two parts. First, I can't say enough about how great the customer service was from the beginning of my ordering process all the way through delivery of my hitch. I placed my order over the phone and my rep was extremely professional, efficient, and thorough during the entire call. Shipment was very fast and FREE. Etrailer.com really has their stuff together! Next will be my review of the hitch I purchased; I can't say enough about the B&W tow and stow hitch. I bought my first one many many years ago and it still performs today like it did when it was new. However, it only had a 5" drop and I needed more drop in my current truck/tire combination that I'm running. This hitch is the 7" drop 7 1/2" rise three ball model and likely the last hitch I'll ever have to buy. Don't let the price scare you if you have different trailers that require different height set-ups or ball sizes. These are the best hitches out there and Etrailer.com brings it to market as well or better than anyone. One recommendation... Purchase a locking pin for through receiver use. This is a very nice hitch and someone may tempted to make it their own if it's not secured properly.

I've owned this hitch a year paired behind my 2008 GMC Sierra 2500HD with a 7" lift. Performs excellent! Towed several different trailers with different ball sizes and different towing heights totally over 5k miles. Don't ever plan on replacing it because it does everything I need it to do in great fashion! Thanks B&W for making a great product and etrailer for being an excellent provider!
I finally bit the bullet and bought a B&W hitch, 3 ball 7" drop, for my 2021 2500HD. This unit is a tank, not to mention looks pretty awesome as well. Adjustments can be made to any height or ball size needed in minimal time or effort. Now I have everything I need in 1 hitch to accomodate my 3 trailers with very different tongue heights. I was concerned the 7" drop would be dangerously low to curbs but there is plenty of room and no cause for concern This hitch is clearly an investment but over a lifetime of use, should be well worth the money. My only complaint is that it doesn't come with a locking pin
Just received ball mount yesterday. This ball mount is heavy duty with a quality feel. Fit and finish are impressive with durable coatings and tight tolerances. Allows me to tow my motorcycle trailer and cargo trailer with one ball mount (different ball sizes and heights for each trailer). I was worried that the 7” drop might be too low for my 2016 Ram 1500 with stock air suspension, but since installed, it looks good and I’m no longer concerned with possibly bottoming out during daily driving. Added the silencer pad upon initial install and haven’t heard any rattling. So far I’m overall impressed with this product.
hitch got here in 2 days and fits like a glove. Now I can get rid of the other multiple hitches I have laying around because this one does it all. Thanks etrailer and B&W

Very convenient. Was concerned that in the stow position it would not fit under the bumper of my 2013 Yukon. It tucks under nicely with the middle ball pointing down.
It has been good hitch I measured pickup & measurements said 7” was what I needed but I drag hitch every time I drive in driveway when balls aren’t in hide mode will drag one of balls. Wished I had bought 5”. It is a finger masher if your not careful when adjusting height or moving to hide mode

Well built, very strong. The welds look awesome! This is a heavy ball mount but if you are considering an adjustable height and ball mount this is the best one I ran across. Most people will install it, lock it in place and seldom remove it so the weight isn't really an issue. I love the flexibility this hitch provides. Numerous height and ball diameter combinations allow me to back up to any of my trailers and hook on. I didn't think I cared about the ability to fold the balls up under the receiver but I actually use this feature and like it. Highly recommend!
Marvin C - 04/18/2016Mounted on a 2021 Yukon XL and used to pull both <1000lb boat trailers with a 1 7/8" ball and a 5,500lb boat trailer with a 2 5/8" ball. The smaller trailers require the full 7" drop on the Yukon, and not many hitches I looked at have this much adjustment range. The hitch is very well constructed and machined. It should stand up to a lot of abuse (and it's heavy as a result). I was pleasantly surprised at how small the profile is when the ball is swung forward and out of the way-- the hitch is almost even with the bumper. I didn't think that would be useful, but it turns out that it really is.

I'm very pleased with the new Tow and Stow. We have several trailers with different ball sizes and coupler heights. In the past, we have purchased a new ball mount and ball for each new trailer that we didn’t already have a combination to fit. This has resulted in quite the collection of them hanging in the garage. None of the trailers are stored at home, some are stored at properties several hundred miles away at vacation or hunting properties. Inevitably we found ourselves hauling one trailer to a property with one ball mount and forgetting or picking up the wrong ball mount for a trailer we wanted to use stored on that property, we would purchase another…. The B&W Tow and Stow has solved ALL of these problems and a few others. The fit and finish are excellent. The mounting tube is the perfect size and doesn’t rattle like the Reese ball mounts. We always have the right ball at the right height for anything we need to pull from the smallest utility trailer, jet ski, boat, or side by side hauler. The best part is since we tow with a GMC Yukon, I never have to ram my shins into the ball mount as we unload the back of the truck. The price seemed high for this ball mount until I started adding up the money for all of the other ball mounts. It doesn’t take very long to exceed the price. Another advantage is we never have to place another dirty extra ball mount in the back of the Yukon in case we want to pull a different trailer. Best purchase I have made in years!

Love the product! Versatility is amazing I can use it on multiple vehicles low and high. I have the ball I need for all my trailer needs. No bolts to make any adjustments, just pull out some pins and snap them back in. I have had it for over 1 year and its still clean and working out great.
Quality product with the reputation to back it up. Highly recommended. I should have just gotten the 2 ball setup as not much use for the 1-7/8". But an extra $10, why not?
