Average Customer Rating:  4.8 out of 5 stars   (1960 Customer Reviews)

3.5 stars. Product looks like it should perform as advertised, but it arrived with several chips in the paint. This is most likely due to improper surface preparation and cleaning before the powder coat was applied. As you can see in the photos, there is already some surface rust on some of the areas, including the hole for the hitch pin. Ultimately the paint will get scratched up from use, but it would be nice to see some extra attention to detail from the factory.

Works on a class 1 hitch. The computer flags it as a mismatch. The person on the phone was very helpful.

Like the above review. This is flagged as a mismatch. It will work fine.

@Jason How is it 'flagged as a mismatch'?

Hitch is solid and install was 2 hours

Love it, just be sure when attaching a ball, when parking un pin and store. Someone stole my pin, fortunately not the drawbar

Happy I bought a locking pin, no more worries.

Here's 2 photos of the finished product. Doesn't stick out very far which is fantastic, because it definitely would have looked bad on the back of a 2 door coupe GTP. As for installation, being a mechanic, all I had to do was remove 2 rear exhaust rubber hangers and the one right behind the fuel tank, lower the exhaust onto a set of jacks to support the weight. Then drilled 2 1/2" holes with a 90 degree drill. The coiled wires included with the parts saved me tons of time trying to get the bolts in. Overall, it was fairly simple to install. Torquing the bolts proved a little difficult. I would recommend you inform the customers that they'll need at least a 10" eye to eye reciever (I have the 11" one on mine) in order to clear the rear bumper and provide some space between the bumper and trailer tongue. As for the wiring, I cut a small slit in the rubber plug under the spare tire, ran some bulk trailer wiring up through it, under the tire, under the floor matting, to the right side of the trunk, behind the tail light. And up under the lid on the right side, is the tail light wire harness/connector. Test light confirmed which wires were hot, tapped into them and all the wires and lights are good to go. Just some extra info for the DIY'er that might be handy on the website so they won't have to search for it! Couldn't be happier with the hitch.

quality and fair pricing was what I was expecting and received. Very pleased with products from etrailer

Everything has been perfect, installation and performance and quality of hitch was first rate.

Vehicle: 2012 Hyundai Elantra Touring (5-door hatchback).
Hitch: C11471 Wiring kit: Tekonsha 118473
Drawbar: C45015 Ball: C40018

See my previous review on the hitch. The wiring kit took longer than expected to install but went generally well.
The eTrailer instructions are good but miss what I consider to be a critical dimension. Note the picture with the ruler; the length of the drawbar must clear the rear bumper of the vehicle. The missing dimension is the distance from the center of the ball mounting hole to the rear of what I call the ball shelf. I now know that for my drawbar, this is about 3.5 inches; however, I did not know that when I ordered the drawbar and consequently ordered a longer drawbar than was required. I went by the distance from hitch pin to ball mount but had to guess whether it would clear my bumper which I knew needed at least six inches from the hitch pin center. No harm done but it would have been useful to know the distance from the ball hole center to the rear of the shelf.
My only problem is to get the torque on the ball nut to 160 lb-ft. My torque wrench does not go that high. I'll figure out something. Everything else is great!

I just bought a Land Rover LSII. I pull a travel trailer so I had the dealer install a hitch. I discovered that the hitch was very low and under the bumper. I could not find a drawbar that would stick out far enough and go high enough to allow me to hook up my trailer. Until I found your drawbar (C45015). As you can see by the pictures, it's perfect. Thank you.

Been a fan of Etrailer for a while now. They always have that extra clip/bolt/harness that other box stores just don’t get right. Found the price reasonable and the shipping speed FAST. Box was toast but who cares it’s a heavy piece of metal I’m going to paint match anyways. Thanks!

This is a heavy duty full on class II hitch and it has the weight of quality. eTrailer shipped my order with professional speed.

Attached is a photo of it on my 2004 Honda Accord in its class I receiver noting that I have not yet fully bolted the hitch ball in this photo.

A perfect solution. I bought a car with a much lower hitch mount placement.

Height worked out perfect. My trailer level. Does good job.

Here's the install on my 1995 E320 Mercedes Wagon. Thanks for double-checking and following-up on my order so efficiently. It was a good thing to get the long ball mount for a bit of extra clearance from the bumper.

I looked locally for a drawbar that would fit my 2001 Ford Taurus but couldn't find what I needed. Came to e-trailers where I've bought before and found this. They had a very wide selection. Perfect fit, great price, fast delivery. I would highly recommend this product and company.

Nice product and easy to install the "Draw-tite Max-frame Trailer Hitch Receiver" with T-One wiring harness for Factory Tow Package- 4 Pole Flat Trailer Connector...

It is exactly what I was looking for, thanks to etrailer, only which I would of did it 5 years ago,but didn't know they made them 1.25 inches. Thanks again Greg

unit worked perfectly, I got the extended elevated ball mount for the receiver and worked perfect. after a while I found that I needed to back out of steep driveways slower so the receiver did not hit the ground. one thing that helped was replacing my original rear struts with an upgrade set. I needed to after 200,000 miles anyway. The wiring kit with your videos was easy and great.

Really good, useful and functional, pulled a few trailers hauling mulch and such.

The Curt Class II Drawbar with a 5" rise very nicely solved my problem when hooking up my two trailers to my Rave 4. The trailer jack was as low as it could go when it rested on the ball in my of setup. Now I have plenty of jack room to hook up and unhook. Thanks for your excellent product and service.

I still love your trailer hitch one year later! I know its very good because I dont think about it, its just there working for me whenever needed. Thanks.

The hitch on my Sienna is mounted low and recessed under the bumper so this ball mount has been perfect for the right height and reach for my boat trailer to ride level. etrailer is the only place I found what I needed. Actually I always look there first because they have such a good selection.

John S.

This ball mount is no longer needed for my boat since I now have a truck with a 2” ball mount but I still use it for my lawn mower trailer when needed behind my van. I can keep a 1 7/8” ball mounted on it. It is a solid piece of equipment.

Received the products a couple of days earlier than expected that was great! The product(s) Drawbar and Ball, were more than expected. They are very well made, heavy duty steel and well built. It towed my small boat/utility trailer with ease. I would recommend these products. Robert R.

Still working well and no signs of minor or major wear and tear. Robert R.

This hitch fits and works perfect on my 2001 Volkswagen golf tdi I have not got to tow with it yet once I do I will come back and add to the review!!!

This extra-long, 1-1/4" trailer ball mount is designed with a graceful curvature resembling the neck of a swan. The trailer mount had the perfect reach & rise that I needed for my small, garden tractor fitted with a rear PTO.

I congratulate for having this uncommon part directly from their stock into my hands so speedily.

This was not my first fully satisfactory transaction with, and it certainly won't be my last! My thanks to all the staff at for such great products and service.

My second or third purchase from E Trailer and as usual I'm super satisfied. With the 5" rise on this drawbar, the trailer finally sits proper and makes it easier to load and unload the bike from the trailer. Great item! Great customer service!

Billy R.

Im still loving my E Trailer Drawbar. The new height makes towing a cinch! Love the customer service as well.

I liked this hitch because it moved the ball away from the bumper on my 2011 Nissan Maxima. Its a solid piece of steel with the ball mount welded to the receiver part. Well, built and a great price. The only thing you need to remember is that you can't turn the hitch over. But it will work well for my application.

Solid steel......nice powdercoating....needed this on my Polaris Razor 570 because the hitch mount was too low

Excellent I can move my trailers around with my Razor

  • Ball Mount For a 2013 Chevy Camaro with 1-1/4 Hitch
You are probably OK but if you are anything like I am it would be too close for comfort. I wouldn't want to take a chance at potentially causing any damage to my fascia. I recommend the Curt Class II Drawbar - 5" Rise - 11-5/8" Long - 3,500 lbs Item # C45015. The hitch on your vehicle is 8-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer most part of your fascia and 9-3/4 from the ground to the top inner most part of the receiver tube. This ball mount has an 11-5/8" long shank...

  • Long Ball Mount for Class II Trailer Hitch Receiver on a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee
The longest ball mount we carry to fit a Class II, 1-1/4 inch hitch receiver is the Curt # C45000. It's 13-1/2 inches from the hitch pin hole to the ball hole. However, it only provides 3-7/8 inches of rise and cannot be used in the drop position. Much less than the Brophy # BM96 you have. It does have the same 3/4 inch ball hole diameter as the Brophy. Another option that may work is the Curt # C45015 that's 11-5/8 inches long. It can't be used in the drop position either but does...

The two Curt ball mounts you mentioned of part # C45014 and # C45015 are both options that would give you additional rise with the # C45015 being a few inches longer as well than compared to the # C45520 that you have now. Now these options only can be used on Class II hitches whereas the # C45520 can fit Class I or Class II so you'd need to verify that with the hitch of your vehicle. For lighter duty vehicles like a 2007 Audi A3 there are only lighter duty hitches available like the Curt # C11192. There is an easy way to make sure you clear the bumper on your 2004 Chrysler Town and Country. You will need a tape measure and a straight edge like a yardstick or a dowel. Hold the straight edge vertically against the rear bumper, making sure it extends below the hitch opening. Then just measure from the center of the hitch pin hole to the straight edge.
