2024 CRV.
Pretty straightforward install.
The fish wires in the kit are a fantastic solution to holding the bolts.

I cannot emphasize enough how kind and thorough etrailer's customer experience team is. I originally (incorrectly) place an order for trailer parts that did not fit together, and etrailer took the time to review my order, identify the issue, call and email me to let me know, and place the correct order while over the phone. I am not an expert on any of these items so it is so unbelievably appreciated that they cared enough to check to see if I meant to order what I did. The delivery then arrive a day earlier than expected. What more could you possibly want from a customer service team? Thank you so much, etrailer!

Etrailer is simply the best place for all your towing needs.
Excellent product, knowledgeable towing professionals, very prompt delivery. Nothing better than etrailer!!

Just installed my hitch kit on a 2024 Subaru Crosstrek. Everything went good and I did not even need to take the muffler off the rubber mounts.

Good hitch ball. Rated 3 because I thought I ordered a straight one and not a drop. Swapped it for a straight hitch my father had in his truck. He said this one was good.

This ball mount is built like I have never experienced in the past I would highly recommend this product to everyone who want a super built ball mount.

The look and quality of this product also. They said 3 day delivery and that is when it arrived.

Heavy duty. CURT always comes through.

Everything with the hitch works and looks good!

I was not only impressed with the quality as well as packaging of the hitch and accessories I bought but the products arrived 5 days sooner than estimated. This may not seem like a big deal to some but getting it as soon as I did allowed me to immediately get it installed the day before I was going to have to pick up a rental wood splitter allowing me to get it myself instead of trying to find someone who could get it for me.

Very grateful for that! Thank-you!

Works as expected.

Delivery quick. Fit perfectly!

I was disappointed in this Curt-It was just oversized enough to keep it from slipping into my 2-inch hitch-it wasn't the paint-just wouldn't fit-to be fair it may have been the new extension used as it was a mess. I am giving it 5 stars because I think it is a fluke of some kind. The welds on this lets you know it is a quality product.

Solid Ball Mount. Great fitment and well made. I highly recommend to others if you need one.

Bought this because my 2" drop hitch was too high. Works perfect and has the ball installed which is a nice plus. Super fast shipping. No complaints.

Ryan N.

A year in and the hitch is still working great

Well made and exactly what I was looking for. Needed a 4" drop on the ball.
All set just slipped in hitch receiver and pined

Just right height and working well

Fits. Solid construction.

Informative videos helped me to make an informed decision on which trailer package was the one that was the best for me. I made the purchase and 3 days later the parts were delivered to my door step - Great Service! Thanks for making this easy for me - You guys are the best!

Hitch pin and clip missing from order. Shipping box broken and brake controller box damaged. Brake controller appears to be ok but I won’t know for sure until I have time to install it.

The parts were fairly priced and arrived promptly. Best of all, a knowledgable sales associate helped me figure out what I would need to use my new hitch to tow a [moving] trailer.

Product was fairly priced and it arrived promptly. Best of all, a sales associate was able to advise me on just what I would need to use my new hitch to pull a [moving] trailer.

Got a new rig so I needed a 4'' drop instead of my 2'' drop ball mount. Great product but even a better transaction. Very fast shipping and packaging was safe and secure. This was shipped with 2 trailer tires. When the shipment came everything was in one package. This made me worry that shoddy packaging would have enabled the ball mount to bounce around and damage the tires or wheels. Not even close. The safe, secure, and attention to detail to the packaging was top notch. Would not hesitate to order again from

Solid! great coating and finish

I ordered five things from e trailer trailer hitch, ball mount with ball, brake controller, wiring adaptor and 7 pin connector all pieces came in one box and all in great shape. Ordered it on the 13th about noon and showed up on the 17th around noon free shipping made this a easy decision. All I have to do is install it I have a newer truck so its all prewired just plug in and go. One last thing I like about e trailer is all the videos they have with vehicle specific install work they have done this a great reference tool.

As usual, the folks at eTrailer were great to work with. The order was correct and shipped on-time (actually early). However, there was a problem with the physical dimensions of the Curt ball mount: the specs stated that it was a 4 inch drop. ETrailer's website confirmed exactly how this measurement is made. However, when I measured it, I found that it was NOT 4 inches, but rather 3.25 inches. A couple of phone conversations with eTrailer yielded an explanation from the manufacturer that this dimension is not meant to be "exact". Well, 3/4 of an inch variance is definitely "not exact". So, I found the ball mount I needed elsewhere and arranged to return this one to eTrailer. Again, they were most accommodating.

  • Can Curt Class III Ball Mount # C45056 Be Used in Rise Position
I spoke with my contact at Curt regarding the Curt Class III Ball Mount with 2 Inch Ball # C45056 referenced in your question. He did state that the ball mount can be used in the rise position, which will indeed provide a 2 inch rise. The issue with this particular model is that the hitch ball will come already torqued from the factory. You can actually remove the ball so you can flip it over to use in the rise position. I have attached a short video demonstration on this product that...

  • Ball Mount for Trailer that Sits 4-1/2 Inches Under Hitch
Your best solution is going to be getting a ball mount with a 4 inch drop like # C45056. Unfortunately, we don't have one with a 4-1/2 inch and all of them with a 5 inch drop will not fit a Class III trailer hitch receiver. In reality the 1/2 inch of difference you'll have won't make a large impact. You just want the trailer to be as level as you can get it.

  • Recommended Drop or Rise Tolerance
Good Question! It is okay to have a little plus or minus you just don't want the tongue pointed too far either way. In your case I would use the 2" since we know it will have the trailer sitting dead level which is optimal. The Curt Class III Ball Mount with 2" Ball - 4" Drop - 2" Rise - 7,500 lbs part # C45056 will be perfect. This helps to ensure that the trailer pushes and pulls flat on the truck rather than pushing up or pulling down when braking.

  • Comparing The Curt C45056 And C45154 Ball Mounts
The difference between the # C45056 and the # C45154 is that the # C45154 is a fusion ball mount. Meaning the ball is permanent and can not be removed from the draw bar. The # C45056 has a removable ball. This allows it to be used in either the drop or rise position. Also, if you ever had a need to swap it out for a 1-7/8" or 2-5/16" ball you will be able to do so. Other than that they are virtually identical with a 7.5K capacity. If you will only ever be towing one horse trailer that uses...

  • Difference Between Standard and Fusion 2" Curt Hitch Ball Mounts
The Curt Class III Ball Mount # C45056 comes with a standard 2" hitch ball that can be removed and used in the drop or rise position with the ball mount while the Curt Fusion Ball Mount # C45154 has the 2" hitch ball welded to the platform so it can only be used in the drop position. The Fusion looks a little cleaner but it does lose that rise position so I recommend going with the standard # C45056 just in case you ever need to remove the hitch ball and reinstall it on the other side...
