Was needing a 7-8 inch ride for my camper that could sustain a GVW of at least 5000 lbs. Let me say, it’s a hard to find item. Thankfully I called Etraer and with some research, found me the perfect ball mount. It’s heavy duty for a reasonable price.

Still perfect!

by:

Welds seem fine. Build seems to match s pecs.

by:

I had to flip this upside down and put a hitch ball on this to get it to work with my Dodge Journey and my camper. It's held up without issue for a half-dozen camper pulls. I wish the paint hadn't already started flaking off at the receiver end, but that's to be expected when you connect metal to metal. The other parts of this haven't started flaking yet after a year so hopefully it continues to hold up.

by:

It works fine.

by:

This is a great drop hitch for my lfted truck, very great experience dealing with Etrailer in all aspects of my order, will definitely order everything I can from them in the future.

by:

Great quality product.

by:

My boat was dragging on the boat ramps and this solved the problem. A very quality product

by:

Very sturdy, very happy with purchase.

by:

The hitch was able to perform as I had intended it to. However instead of using it as a drop I am using it as a rise and it would have been better if I had a 10 inch rise. I am using a front hitch (which I also got from etrailer) to maneuver a trailer into a tight parking space.

Items arrived on time and quick. Great company

by:

Worked really well - Jeep Grand Cherokee has a high back bumper - Kayak trailer is low to the ground and we like to pull it level.

Working well - use it most every weekend.

by:

completely satisfied , good shipping, good products . I use the 2 inch hitch and 2 inch ball about every week on my jeep grand cherokee . I use the trailer dolly to park the utility trailer behind the shed.by using the trailer dolly I don't have to drive the jeep on the lawn. (sorry I don't have pictures to send.)

by:

No problems

by:

First, I appreciate William, and his customer relations skills. He's very pro customer! Many sales reps that I have dealt with don't have a clue of just how valuable a customer is.

The product itself is fine. However, it was abused during shipping, leaving dings on it. The shipping box arrived almost destroyed. The ball mount itself is good quality, heavy, and solid.

I see that your hitch has received some scratches on it due to shipping. This does tend to happen and when it does, we recommend using a Rust-oleum type paint to cover up any scratches and prevent corrosion in the future during use. I have sent your information over to our customer service department for them to better assist you. I have a link below for your reference.

It fir the purpose perfectly.

by:

I love ordering from etrailer. Easy to find what I'm looking for and it gets here quick. Everything they carry is great quality from my experience so far. I needed yet another drop hitch for my truck this time for a 2 5/16' ball. Great price for something that is rated 10k pounds.

by:

Exactly what I asked for and expected!

by:

Received my ball mount and everything was intact.
Is just what I expected. Looks sturdy and well built.

Great. Even after I purchased a different truck, I was able to make it fit by minor adjustments to it. Customer service was very helpful picking the right tool for the job.

by:

Purchased a hitch and ball from eTrailer. The information and videos on the website were very useful. The products were shipped out the same day and everything was received promptly as advertised. Very satisfied.

by:

After a year the mount shows no wear at all I would recommend this product to any one needing a good hitch mount, with a large rise and drop.

by:

This drop hitch is well made and has a nice protective finish. We just bought a much bigger truck and the drop will allow towing of my smaller trailer nice and level. The specified amount of drop is accurate.

by:

This drop hitch rated at 10,000 lbs is so much cheaper than anyone around me and the quality is excellent. I've used etrailer for several purchases over the years they always deliver. I'm always impressed with their selection and pricing. On this last order they upgraded my shipping and I received my order 4 days earlier than expected.

by:

great product, looks great, problem is I ordered the wrong rise, I ordered 7 inch and actually need a 5 inch rise. should have ordered
Curt Ball Mounts
Code: C45336

by:

Perfect fit exactly what I needed. I have a light duty adjustable hitch that I worried was inadequate. I purchase this for the rating and reassurance that I was safe towing my heavy trailer and tractor.

  • What is the Ground Clearance for the Curt Hitch # C13397 for My 2021 Honda CR-V?
The height from the ground to the bottom edge of the Curt Hitch # C13397 on your 2021 Honda CR-V is 11-1/4 inches. With this ground clearance height, I recommend using a drop hitch like the Curt Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 7" Rise, 8-1/4" Drop - 9-3/8" Long # C45338. With this adapter, you will be able to have a higher ground clearance if you use a small utility trailer.

  • Can Curt Ball Mount Part # C45338 be Used with Tow Dolly
Yes, if you had a tow dolly that attaches to a hitch ball the Curt ball mount part # C45338 that you referenced would work well with it. For hitch balls you'd want the part # A-90 for a 2 inch ball or part # C40036 for a 2-5/16 inch ball.

  • Ball Mount to Use for 6 inch Drop When Using Curt Rockerball
The place to measure on your trailer for picking out correct rise/drop is actually from the bottom of the coupler lip. So since you measured from the top of where the ball fits into the coupler you'd need to subtract about 2 inches from that so you'd have 17 inches. So difference between 23 inches and 17 inches is 6 inches which means you'd need a drop of inches. So since you have a Curt Rockerball that adds 2 inches you'd need a 8 inch drop then. So for that you'd want the part # C45338...

  • How to Determine the Amount of Drop Needed on Ball Mount for Towing Trailer
When determining the amount of rise or drop you will need on the ball mount for your towing setup, you just need to take a couple simple measurements. The first, which you have already taken, is from the ground to the top of the trailer hitch receiver when your vehicle is parked and on level ground. The second is from the ground to the bottom of the trailer coupler when it is also parked on level ground. You did state you took a measurement when the trailer was attached to a different vehicle,...

For the Curt hitch part # 13266 that fits your 2012 Volvo XC70 the ball mount you'd want would be the Curt # C45338 which has rise of 7 inches. • Recommended 2 Inch Hitch Ball with 10,000 lb Capacity for Curt Ball Mount
There is a 2 inch hitch ball rated for 10,000 lbs that is compatible with the Curt Ball Mount # C45338. I recommend the 2" Hitch Ball # A-90 because it is rated for 10,000 lbs and has a shank that measures 1-1/4" diameter x 2-5/8 long so there will be minimal excess once the nut is tightened. Thanks for the picture! The Curt Trailer Hitch item # C13277 you referenced is confirmed to fit your 2017 Audi Q7. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Audi with included hardware. • Can the Ark Articulating Coupler Be Used with an Adjustable Channel Mounting Ball Mount
We haven't tested using an Ark Articulating Coupler # AR44FR with a Curt Adjustable ball mount like the # C45902 and I don't think this is going to work because of the limited clearance from the hitch ball to the channel. You'll instead want to use a ball mount with a drop like the # C45338 specifically for towing with the AR44FR, since it will allow the coupler to move freely. You can get get a hitch ball with a 1 inch diameter shank that will give you 2 inches of rise with a 2 inch ball # C40034, though that is going to limit your towing capacity to 6,000 lbs. If you needed to stick with a 10,000 lb towing capacity, then you would need a new ball mount, # C45338 for 8 inches of drop, # AMSC6 for 6 inches of drop or if four inches of drop was needed, # AMSC4. The towing and tongue weight capacity of the Curt Ball Mount # C45338 does not change if you use it in the rise position; it has a tongue weight capacity of 1,000 lbs and towing capacity of 10,000 lbs no matter if you use it to get 8-1/4 inches of drop or 7 inches of rise. Keep in mind your capacity is limited to that of your truck and hitch receiver. • Ball Mount for Trailer Hitch Height of 12-1/2 inch and Coupler Height 19 Inches
The two dimensions needed to be compared when picking out rise/drop ball mount is the top of the hitch opening down to the ground as well as the bottom of the coupler lip on the trailer down to the ground when the trailer is level. Since you measured from top of the coupler you'd need to remove right at 2 inches from 21 so you'd have from 12-1/2 inches to 19 inches which is 6-1/2 inches. So the closest you can get to that is 7 inches of rise like the part # C45338 which would work great.
