Today we'll be reviewing part number C45582, this is a Curt Class 2 Euro Style Draw Bar with a 2 inch ball. Provides a 3-1/4 inch drop and it's rated at 3,500 pounds. The European style ball mount features a permanently attached hitched ball. It's made from a sturdy steel construction, providing a nice solid shank here on the back side. This does have a corrosion resistant design because of the chrome plated ball and the durable carbide black powder coat finish on the ball mount. It goes through a high quality, manufacturing process.
It's CNC machined for strong, consistent cuts and welds, and it goes through a seven stage washing method that's going to ensure smooth, clean surfacing. The draw bar can only be used in the drop position so keep that in mind. The hitch pin and clip, or hitch pin and lock, are required and they're sold separately. You can refer to our web site and type in part number PC2 to get this item. This is a half inch pin and it's going to come with a clip.
Or you can refer to the ball mounts product page under related items to view additional hitch pins or hitch pins and locks. This is designed to work with an 1-1/4 by 1-1/4 trailer hitch receiver. The way this works is you would take your ball mount and slide it into the receiver tube of your hitch. You would then need to line up your pin holes, take your pin and clip and insert it through the appropriate holes, then it's secure. This ball mount is going to provide a gross towing weight of 3,500 pounds and a maximum tongue weight of 350 pounds.
Once again, it does have the 2 inch size hitch ball. The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of our ball is going to measure 8-3/4 inches and this is going to provide a drop of 3-1/4 inches. That measurement is taken from the top edge of our receiver tube to the start of the vertical curve. When we do that measurement, we're going to get a drop of 3-1/4 inches. That's going to complete today's review of part number C45582, this is a Curt Class 2 Euro Style Draw Bar with a 2 inch ball rated at 3,500 pounds.

Fits 1-1/4" hitches.I was looking for the euro-style drawbar for our 2017 VW Tiguan, because we are going to have it shipped back to Europe. And I found one here in the USA at etrailer.com. So we do not have to convert our hitch in Europe. Good and solid product.
Nicely made and elegant looking. But will not fit a receiver where the center of the hitch pin hole is more than 2-5/16" from the end of the receiver. The straight portion of the ball mount starts to fatten out to more than 1-1/4" wide at that point which means it won't work for some longer receivers like my OEM VW one. Not a product fault, but something to measure before ordering one.
Heather A - 03/17/2018This is the ideal seller; I received the items before the due date, and each trailer hitch is exactly what I expected. Both are VERY strong and my worries that the hitches would not tow 3500 pounds in 1-1/4 receiver are long gone.
I like the look of the forged part. seems to match the style of my european tow vehicle. I had to make an adapter to use on my Cayenne.
Unique design allowed us to do things we could not do before with our material movement group.
Everything was fine and installed with ease.

Great product. Fit and finish is excellent. I've mounted the Curt 1 1/4" hitch to my 2007 Mazdaspeed3. Taking the rear bumper off, which only took 30 minutes (maybe a few minutes more than that) made it very easy to attach the Curt hitch to the car. I wanted to compliment the Mazdaspeed3's overall appearance, so, I decided to go with the Curt euro ball mount 11 3/4" . Very pleased with the outcome.

Heavy duty! I was a little bummed when I found out how much more difficult it was to find a half inch pin for this, but no matter. It is a tad loose inside the hitch, so there's a little rattle, but I doubt it's as noticable as I make it seem. Super classy and a welcome change from the typical draw bar style. Goes great with my Volvo V70 T5. Thanks etrailer.com!

Great Product! After installing a Curt (C11184) Hitch on my '08 BMW 135i convertible, I needed a drawbar and ball. I really liked the elegant design and one piece simplicity that this one has. It is very sturdy and the dimension measurements were accurate. The whole reason I got it was to trailer my new (old) wood boat home from the barn I found it in. Once the hitch was on and the (56146KIT) Wiring kit was installed. This drawbar slid right in. Thanks to the accurate measurements the trailer sat at the perfect height the first time.

This trailer drawbar with the ball was just the right height and extension for the trailer. I am glad I got the one piece drawbar it is easy to store in the compartment with the spare tire. It is very tight when you first get it so you will need to tap it in out a few times with some spray lube to loosen it up. After that, it goes in and out by hand easily. It does come with the pin.

Product is exactly as represented, high quality manufacture and recommended. I already had a 1 7/8th ball of the same type but most rental trailers suit the 2 inch ball better so now I have both. The 1 7/8 ball tends to rattle even though the fittings work ok and I found that getting it tight enough to not lift off means the ball gets a groove worn in it. Using this for light (up to 2000 lb) towing behind my Ford Focus, works really well and towed 4*8 cargo trailer without any problem.

Great product, fits trailer nicely, heavy duty, and very well packed. I purchased the Hitch from Carid, and it was shipped straight from Curt Mfg. The hitch busted holes in the box from floating around (no packaging materials inside), when I bought this 2" ball from etrailer it came in a etrailer box and was surrounded by brown paper to where the ball/bar didn't shift in the box.
