What's up, everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna be checking out this Curt adjustable ball mount. It's got a dual ball design, so you don't have to worry about switching this out. It's as easy as flipping this around if you need to use the 2 5/16-inch ball or the two-inch ball for whatever trailer you wanna pull. Let's check it out. What the adjustable ball mount's gonna be good for, is if you have different trailers that you haul that you have to adjust with different heights on your truck.
So, instead of having a bunch of different ball mounts that have different rises and drops, you have it all in one here. So you can move this up and down, wherever you need it, to make sure it's level with the truck and trailer. And not only that, you can switch which size you need for what kind of coupler. Now let's look at how it works. So you're gonna have the clip here and you remove this so you can remove the pins.
The clip's a little different from normal clips on other ball mounts, but it still works pretty well. You're gonna pull on this loop at the bottom. This comes off of this pin. Then we can push this off. The hook will release on the top.
And now, we'll just pull the pins from this side, I will say, you do have to push in a little bit to remove the first one. It's not that bad though, just a little bit of pressure is all it needs to remove that pin. Then make sure you hold this, when you go to remove the top one. Now you can slide it up and down wherever you need it to be. So this would be as far as it can get in the drop position and then we can go all the way down here and set it to adjust to a lower trailer.
So all-in-all, you're gonna have a 10-inch drop and then you're gonna have a nine-inch rise if you flip it upside down. Focusing on the dual ball design, I like that they're already installed, so you don't have to worry about torquing them down, or adding them to the accessory. If you're gonna use a 2 5/16-inch ball, it's gonna have a trailer weight rating of 15,000 pounds. So that's gonna have a tongue weight rating of 1,500 pounds. Now, if you switch to the two-inch ball, it's gonna have a gross trailer weight rating of 10,000 pounds and have a tongue weight rating of 1,000 pounds. So just keep that in mind, which what kind of truck and trailer combination you're gonna be the one pulling. Now this ball mount's gonna have a black butter cover finish on sturdy steel construction, so you don't have to worry about being scratched or corroding when you're leaving out of the elements. So you're gonna leave this in the back of the hitch, it should be just fine. There's gonna be two different versions of this adjustable ball mount. There's gonna be the two inch version, it's what we're using today. Now this is a two and a half inch hitch. We're using a reducer to make it work, but there is another version that is a two and a half inch. So it'll just slide around in there without the reducer. So they'll have those two options for whatever ball mount you might need. The pin and clip are not included, so you'll have to order that separately. And I suggest if you're investing in this adjustable ball mount, to get one of the locking hitch pins, that way you can lock it up on the side and nobody can mess with this when you're not around. Overall, I like this adjustable ball mount. I think it would be really helpful to have, to adjust those different heights for the different trailers and then switch out which ball size you want to use for the different couplers. Makes it far easier than to have a bunch of these assemblies in the back of your truck, taking up space. We can get it all done with this one. Now there is different versions out there. If you're looking for something a little bit different, there is the B and W tow and stow and that one's gonna go along a track, so you don't fully remove the accessory, it actually moves up and down here and actually can flip up underneath the truck. So if you don't want so much sticking out here, that's an option that you, if you're worried about hitting your shin or your leg, when you're walking around the back of the truck. Also, Gen Y has the Phantom, that's another adjustable ball mount out there. That one's gonna have stacked receivers. So if you like that design a little better, you slide the accessory, it has a dual ball mount. You slide into the different receivers and move it up and down. If you like that look better. This one's just nice, 'cause it's all right here, ready to go. Like I said before, you can adjust the height quickly, switch which size you're gonna need and get it hooked up the trailer and get on the road. Well, I think that's all it. Thanks for hanging out and hope this helped.

This product is super heavy duty and works well for towing multiple trailers that I own.
Nice product thank you !
QUALITY. Best product out there!
Fast delivery, great follow up.
I haven't used it yet, but fits as expected. Enough drop for anything I might tow with my 2500HD ZR2, including an 1-7/8 utility trailer (with an convert-a-ball ordered separately), or bolting on the W/D head I already own.
Shipping and packaging was great. The hitch was overcoated so the locking pins I bought from you wouldn’t fit. I had to sand the holes for the pins would go through to hold the balls. Then the 2.5 receiver end was too small for the third pin. I was under the assumption that three pins all keyed the same would be one to attach to the truck and two for the ball attachment. So I had to buy aggressive sanding disks and another locking pin that would fit the receiver section to the truck due to the hitch diameter being to small. These products (hitch& pins) should have been a simple 5 minute installation and it was a few hours and phone to ask for direction
Exactly what I needed. Just as described. Built solid! Made the mistake of trying to install ball attachment pins on the floor. The anti rattle bumper has to compress alot before pins will fit. I slid the hitch into the receiver for more leverage and they went in no problem! Thanks etrailer.
This hitch is exactly what I wanted and is a nice chunck of forged steel. It was well packaged and arrived with no damage. It was easy to attached the hitch ball and lowered it enough to fit my utility trailer. The instructions for measuring how much drop I needed was right on the money.
Heavy duty
It is perfect - just what we were searching for!
