Etrailer always makes everything so easy when ordering products. I have a little covered trailer and wanted to add a hitch to my 96 Camry. Etrailer had everything from the hitch, wiring package, the drawbar, and the size ball that I need to order to fit the smaller drawbar. What a great resource we have in Etraier

- 36061
by:

I chose this drawbar to match the 3500 lb. towing capacity of the parts of my towing package. As noted on Etrailer videos, the towing capacity of your towing package is the capacity of the "weakest" part.

- 36061
by:

Fast and helpful service. They helped me select an alternative to the hitch I originally ordered and it was a good choice. Trailered my track bike on a 300 mile round trip with absolutely no problems

- 36061
by:

This drawbar was clearly used. See the picture. I asked etrailer about it and sent this picture but the person that replied, Noah, thought it must have been bumped around in shipping. If shipping caused this much damage, it's a poor quality product. If it was, in fact, used, then etrailer lied to me. Either way...not good.

Nice little hitch that I got to use with my new receiver. Seems of good quality, paint and craftsmanship! Worked fine pulling my 4x8 trailer.

- 36061
by:

Good purchase, used on my four wheeler, so has not been road tested or hauled heavy, but a nice piece and exactly what i needed to get the rise and distance away from the quad so you dont have to reach under the bed so far. Would probably be ideal for a car or something to keep the trailer back a little from the bumper.

Its a trailer hitch. Its not a piece of fine art. It works.

The 1 1/4 trailer hitch is great for my small hitch. Fast shipping(2 days). They should have packed better shipping companys don`t handle well. But still would recommend to buy from etrailer.

- 36061
by:

The product in terms of its physical description was just fine, dimensions, hole sizes etc. However it came with the appearance of being a used unit. Scratch marks, metal mars and a little rust. Since, after all, it is a ball mount for a trailer hitch it wouldn't be long before I would be responsible for the same look it has now. But it would have been nice if the unit came looking like it was new to begin with.

  • Ball Mount With 3 Inch Rise and 1-1/4 Inch Shank With 2 Inch Hitch Ball
Since your dealer mentioned measuring to the top of the hitch, I concur that a ball mount with about a 3 inch rise is correct for your measurements. So you are right about the ball mount you need, the Draw-Tite Drawbar for 1-1/4" Hitches # 36061. Then for a 2" hitch ball the one that fits this ball mount is the 2" Hitch Ball # 19258.

  • How to Choose the Right Ball Mount to Tow a Trailer Level with a 2003 Toyota Camry
To choose a ball mount with the correct rise and drop, you'll first need to take two measurements: your hitch height and trailer coupler height. The difference between them will be your rise or drop. To take the first measurement make sure the vehicle is on level ground and measure from the ground to the top of the receiver opening. On hitch # 36336 for your 2003 Toyota Camry that measurement is approximately 12 inches. To take the second measurement make sure the trailer is on level...

When you pick out a ball mount for a vehicle you want to pick out one with the correct amount of rise or drop so that when you are towing your trailer it tows as level as possible. Check out the FAQ article I attached that shows how to do this. From the research I did it looks like the factory hitch for your 2014 Jeep Patriot has a 1-1/4 inch opening.
