Video Transcript for Draw-Tite 3 Inch Hitch Ball Mount Review

Hey, everybody. Adam here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Draw-Tite Ball Mount. So this one's gonna be a big boy for your three inch hitch receivers. It's made of forged steel, so it's all one solid piece, has a black powder coated finish. But this is gonna be for those massive trailers that you have.

It has a gross trailer weight capacity of 21,000 pounds and a tongue weight of 2,100 pounds, which is kind of on the higher end. It's gonna give us a four inch drop or a two inch rise. And to do that, all you got to do is pull the pin and clip out. You will have to grab one of these and just make sure it's 5/8 in diameter, and definitely grab a locking one just because it's going to run off on you pretty easily. It takes like two seconds for someone to steal this out of your hitch receiver, so definitely do that.

But you can either have it like this or you can have it like this to get the rise and drop. And if this isn't like the perfect rise and drop combination for ya, what you can do is you can just get a ball that has a little bit lower or a little bit taller foot right here, so it's just gonna give us an inch or two inches of rise, just the ball itself. So you're not really stuck with four inch drop or a two inch rise. You can kind of get a little bit more out of your ball mount just by picking the different ball. When you are picking the different ball, we want to make sure it lines up and make sure that it's gonna be able to carry this 21,000 pound capacity.

This one is 20,000 pounds so we're limiting ourselves right off the bat. So if we get one that's a little bit bigger or heavier duty, we won't be limiting ourselves at all. When we are looking at trailer balls, we need to make sure that the shank of the ball is gonna be an inch and a quarter because we don't want to have any play there, and this thing fits in there perfectly. Since this is such a big boy ball mount, we want to make sure there's no slop or play in the shaft there. If you really like this type of ball mount, Draw-Tite does make some with a lot more aggressive drops and a lot more aggressive rises.

So if you like this, we have other sizes on our website. That's basically it for our look at the Draw-Tite Trailer Ball Mount..

No more sloppy fit with a 2" spacer in this F350 3" receiver. This 3" hitch is tough.
Best price - local or internet and good shipping.

by:

This receiver hitch had the specs I wanted and fir the receiver perfect

by:

This thing is a beast. When I picked the box up it was in it felt almost as if they sent the hitch that bolts to the truck. It’s cast iron not mild steel.

by:

Carol,I am sure the product I received will be perfect just like your service. I did send you pictures of how I received the damaged carton. Thank you for making it fight within a few days. I will have to say that you folks are perfect in making customers satisfied even though we encountered a problem which had nothing to do with your company but a poor handler you sent it through.
Once again, thank you. Jack K Sunahara

I needed an extended ball mount for my new Jeep in order for my utility trailer tongue to clear the rear mounted spare tire. Item is as described on the web site and was received earlier than expected.
etrailer has great customer service and is my number one go to place for towing and trailer supplies.

This Draw-Tite Ball Mount with 2" Ball is high quality, as is all products that Etrailer carries. I will be using it to pull my 10' aluminum trailer with my new Durango RT.

by:

Overall, I have to say that I am satisfied although not particularily impressed. The finish on the ball mount is mediocre ... there are several spots where the paint is chipped off for instance. It was received today and installed today with no use yet the pictures show the areas in question. You can tell by the label installation that someone who really didn't care rushed the operation. It also fit considerably looser than the Reese bar that I removed. I had to apply several turns of duct tape around the tube to make it as snug as the original. As I said, it'll do fine, just not impressed.

by:

Great products and service. I was able to order everything I needed to add a tow hitch and ball to my 2006 Jeep liberty. Very fast shipping. They even called me to verify orders and availability. Clear and easy to follow installation instructions. I hauled an [retailer] trailer from Texas to Ohio without any issues. Even bought a trailer and use it frequently for hardware stoe runs.

by:

Ordered the ball mount on Thurs and it arrived Monday. George emailed me Friday and said thanks for ordering again, I had ordered a full hitch the week before, so he expedited shipping on this item. I have ordered many times from etrailer and they have never disappointed. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

From the packaging, the installation videos, instructions, etc. etrailer makes it sooooo damn easy. Thank you 5/5

  • Will Super Titan Ball Mount RP38180 Fit 3 Inch Hitch in Ford F-250
While we have ball mounts that will work for your 2019 Ford F-250's 3 inch trailer hitch, the Draw-Tite Super Titan Dual Ball Mount # RP38180 is for Super Titan hitches with a 3/4" pin hole diameter, which is too large for your F-250's standard hitch. So what you would need is a ball mount with a standard 5/8" pin hole such as the Draw-Tite Ball Mount for 3" Hitches # 40700 or the adjustable B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount # BWTS30037B. To secure either ball mount to your hitch you'd need...
