This is my 3rd one have down sized my truck from a 2500 to a 1500. This hitch has never failed me or gave me any trouble. One thing I have learned, is about once a yr. I remove hitch and clean out the receiver of all the road crud that will build up. Thank you for making a hitch that is almost foolproof.1318120

This is the best (and nicest) hitch I have ever owned and got rid of all my others. It adjusts easily to my different trailer heights and is both secure in the height selection and the receiver. The only think I don't like are the small rubber dust covers over the locks...they tend to not stay in-place. I purchased the 2-inch mount but my new truck has a 2.5, for which I needed to get an insert to work. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a single hitch solution.297551

Excellent hitch. I would make only one change in my purchase selection and that is to go with the chrome plated ball. I went with the stainless thinking it would not show discoloration (like darker coloration or rusty looking) but it does and I believe the Chrome plated would have looked better.1236369

Stainless steel contains chromium, and when exposed to oxygen it forms a thin invisible layer called chromium oxide. Rust can form when this layer is damaged from exposure to high humidity, high salinity environments, or mechanical abrasion such as the steel coupler over the ball. A good way to remove the the rust would be to mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda in 2 cups of water, rub the baking soda solution on the rust stain using a toothbrush. Baking soda is non-abrasive and will gently lift the rust stain from the stainless steel and then rinse and wipe the spot with wet paper towel. We do have a chrome ball mount with part # DTALBM6600

$280.00. It does the same job as the stainless steel for a little less money. Over time with any chrome plated ball the chrome plating can wear off and then cause the metal undeath to rust. If you were to stick with a chrome plated hitch ball then greasing it with part # 58117
White Grease Hitch Ball Lube
$10.52 before each use would help to prevent the coating from wearing off.

I have owned 2 of these hitches. First one lost when I had a hitch pin fall out of a 2 1/2" adapter...fortunately not towing! The hitch is easy to adjust, very durable, looks nice and is well engineered for towing. Finer points that need attention: 1. rubber caps over cylinder locks have a tether to prevent loss that never allows the rubber cap to fit back in place...ever. It's a design flaw. New out the box, the cap won't fit back into place after you remove it the first time. Expect to have to always have to secure the rubber caps or just cut it off. 2. The anti-rattle spring loaded ball bearings are not effective. I have used this hitch in over a dozen vehicles and none have had hitch openings tight enough to allow the anti-rattle bearings to be effective or make contact. The hitch will rattle, always, unless you use some metal shims or tape with duct tape around the draw bar. 3. If you try to adapt the 2" draw bar to a 2 1/2" hitch, it puts the hitch about 3-4" farther back away from the truck. This could be a problem from the standpoint of hitting your shins on the bar, to putting your load farther back, to decreasing your rear clearance. 4. Spending this much money on a hitch, I typically go through 2-4 vehicles with the same hitch and they all have different size hitches. If you buy the 2 1/2" size draw bar with the cylinder lock, it's only good for a 2 1/2" hitch. Not good if you try to back convert to a 2" hitch or use it in one of your buddy's 2" receivers. If you buy the 2" draw bar, you can purchase the $50 adapter to use in either a 2" or 2 1/2" hitch size.103332

The aluminum and stainless design is superior to all other hitches this style. I have another aluminum hitch with steel locking pins and if you aren't careful they will seize together. The design with the pins being self lubricated and enclosed means nothing can seize together. The look and functionality is superior to all other drop hitch/ball's.100119

One key works both the lock pins as well as the ball height adjustment which was what I was looking (and paid) for. Best hitch as far as I am concerned. The inventory you received is current. This series of ballmounts recently underwent a bit of a re-design and the anti-rattle detents have been removed. We did not know this change was happening until we received updated shipments.

I have not had a chance to use the ball mount yet but it is easy to use and fits receiver with no issues. I recently purchased a Curt class V receiver that is installed below my OEM receiver. With the drop installed in the Curt receiver in the upright position, the back of the ball mount comes very close to the bumper on my 2011 Ram 2500 crew cab. I will see if there are any contact issues when actually towing and revise my review, if necessary.114259

Both products are working well. I initially had a problem with the ball mount, which you promptly followed up on, giving me the Diversi-Tech support number. After talking to the rep and following a couple of his suggestions, the mount is now working well.

Very strong, easy to install and very secure. Yes a bit pricey, but well worth the money. I did notice there was what I thought was an unusual amount of play in the receiver.
I called etrailer and Marcia was so very helpful and very concerned that I may have received the wrong product. Good Morning Patrick I just love the hitch for several reasons. It works flawlessly to start with and I am able to adapt to almost any trailer I choose to pull. It is definitely a plus being able to move the hitch to adapt for proper levelling. I have a lot of people just stop and look at the hitch when I am in parking lots, and a time or two they have asked me where I got it. The only downside is the fact that while people see it, so does my back up alarm...
