The adjustable ball height lets you tow a variety of trailers with different tongue heights. Having both a 2" ball and a 2-5/16" ball allows for even more versatility, making this the ultimate go-to ball mount if you own multiple trailers.
Changing Ball Height and Replacing Balls
To adjust the height of the ball, remove the included pins so that you are able to slide the ball platform up or down along the shank to the desired position. Re-insert the pins once you have found the correct height. Switching the hitch ball is just as easy. Simply remove the pins holding the ball platform in place and slide the platform off of the shank. Flip the platform upside down so that the ball you want to use is on top. Then slide the ball platform back onto the shank and replace the pins and clips.

Very happy with the hitch. Looked FOREVER all over for details when I got my new to me 2017 Ram 2500. This truck sits so dang high off the ground (4x4) I was worried about getting the proper range of drop for my different trailers. I used my 7x14 utility trailer as my baseline as it rides the lowest. From ground to bottom of my ball coupler is approx 16in. From ground to top of my hitch receiver is approx 25in. On the lowest setting my trailer sits ever so slightly nose totally empty. Check the pic with level. Once loaded I'm confident it will ride very nice. Plus I have all the range to move up for my taller trailers. Super beefy, seems well built, and I picked up the locking pins to go with. Etrailer as always had a great price and I've been ordering from them for years.

I have a 2018 Ram 2500 and was in the market for a hitch. So as usual I go and check out etrailer. I was initially wanting a 8 inch drop but couldn’t find a style I liked. I personally didn’t want aluminum nothing against them just wanted steel. Finding information sometimes can be difficult so this is my main reason for review. As for etrailer I ordered this on a Tuesday afternoon and was at my house by noon on Wednesday. I was expecting Friday possibly Monday for delivery. This hitch is heavy. Fits in receiver good also stays close to bumper for better handling of to tongue weight and also to save your shin pretty sure you run into this thing you won’t forget it. I haven’t towed with this hitch yet but very confident it will be no problem. I have included some photos to help. This truck is all stock. The only negative if there is one is with the hitch in receiver and you hit a decent bump it does let you know it is in receiver.

I like this hitch due to it's versatility and the fact that I don't have to use the sleeve for my class V receiver. In one day I was able to flip the head and use the 2 5/16" ball so that I could move my travel trailer, flipped it back to 2" ball and lower the head for my landscape trailer and then borrowed friends Utility trailer and raised the head again.

Sure is beefy. Looks great and was the perfect drop for my stock 2021 Ram Powerwagon. This will allow enough adjustability for my utility trailer, car trailer and anything else I need to haul. Just remember, if you’re using the hitch pin from an previous truck/hitch with a 2” receiver, you may need to order a long receiver hitch pin for this 2 1/2” receiver. Very happy with this hitch.

By far the best hitch I've had installed in my bumper. This works great since my super duty is lifted. It keeps my trailer riding more level. Built a lot stronger than the tube type adjustable hitches you see out there. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with a large truck that's lifted.

Good hitch at a great price. If this matches your weight rating and height requirements, I’m not sure why you’d need to spend more. My only suggestion/complaint is that there is only one pin hole and the hitch can’t be slid out, like some other hitches. This means my tailgate hits some trailer jacks, but that’s not really the hitches fault.

I have been towing my Nissan Titan pickup all over the country using this hitch. It is working very well and as you can see from the picture, I made an adapter that bolts to the top part of the hitch that allowed mm to mount a 2 receiver hitch for a bike rack. I am able to hook up the truck and still have plenty of room for 2 bikes on the bike rack.

This hitch has done everything I needed it to do. The hitch can handle WAY more than my 18’ car trailer can handle. Hasn’t rusted a bit in the last year! Very heavy duty! The only problem I’ve had is if you’ve got a trailer that grounds through the ball it has a very hard time getting a good ground through the hitch because of the coating on the hitch. It’s a double edged sword because that keeps it from rusting but it also keeps it from grounding very well.

I am very pleased with the strength and integrity of this hitch.. I bought a 2020 Silverado 2500hd, like all newer hd trucks mine has the larger 2.5" hitchport than the conventional 2" receiver, I am not a big fan of using adapter sleeves for the 2" hitch so I purchased this hitch for the tow rating and height versatility... Note, unlike common hitches that most have seen with 2" square tube steel design that are hollow and light weight, this hitch is solid steel and heavy,20k lbs rating is felt when you handle it, quality is great, I do highly recommend it to anyone who wants that extra heavy duty confidence and or the need for a stronger hitch... Pulling a 14k equipment trailer with this hitch is peace of mind that I will not have issues.. perfect for me ... Thanks

The Hitch with all the adjustment heights works great. The finish isnt very good as the whole unit is basically rust color. I expected it to remain black with a few rust spots but unfortunately thats not the case. I would buy this unit and would recommend buying it to friends, but telling them they need a can of spray paint

Over time a steel ball mount will experience rust from being hit with road debris. I recommend keeping a can of rust resistant paint on hand to touch up the ball mount from time to time.
