Video Transcript for Review of Fulton Trailer Hitch Ball Mount - 2 Aluminum Ball Mount - F97CR

Hi there I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Fulton aluminum ball mount. This is a solid forged aluminum ball mount. So it's gonna be very lightweight. It's also going to resist rust and corrosion due to that aluminum construction. So it's gonna be really great for your marine use applications.

If you want to take out your fishing boat or your jet ski, something along those lines this will do a really good job for you. It's going to slide into your two inch by two inch trailer hitch receiver on your tow vehicle. And then it will provide a one inch diameter ball hole so that you can put your ball, your hitch ball in place. Now, it does not come with a hitch ball, but you can add on a ball that is going to work with your trailer's coupler whether that's a one and seven eighths inch ball a two inch ball or a two and five 16th inch ball you just want to make sure that the shank is going to be one inch in diameter so it will fit in there. If you are wanting to stay within the same brand,` Fulton does have this two inch stainless steel hitch ball that is sold separately but it will fit right in place there and provide a two inch ball for your trailer hitch couplers.

So if you want that, you can find it using the part number that you see on the screen there. Now, when you're towing a trailer you wanna make sure that you're going to have a weight capacity that is sufficient. So this is going to have a towing weight capacity of 8,000 pounds that's the trailer plus the load included. It's also going to have a tongue weight capacity which is the downward pressure on your ball of 800 pounds. So will do a good job for you.

Another really important thing when you're towing is to make sure that your bolt is going to be level with your ball mount so that everything is riding level. You're not gonna be kind of tilt it up or down as you're going along. So this is gonna provide a two inch drop. That's gonna be from the inside of the top edge of your receiver tube, down to your ball platform. It's a two inch drop.

When you have it in this position you can also flip it over and use it in the rise position. And that's going to give you a one inch rise again from the top of your inside receiver tube up to the ball mount platform there, one inch rise. So depending on your setup, if you go out and measure where your trailer sits level and compare that to your hitch receiver on your vehicle you'll know whether you need a drop or rise. There are other options that give you different variations of drop and rise. So if that two inch or one inch isn't gonna work for you you're welcome to check out some of those other options as well. Now, as far as our links goes, I'm gonna measure from where our ball opening is all the way back to our pinhole here from center to center. And that's just shy of 10 inches. We'll call it about nine and seven eighths of an inch to give you an idea of how far that's going to stick out. This is just your standard five eighths inch opening for your standard pin. The pin and clip is not included. So you will need to provide that for yourself. You could also add on a hitch lock if you would prefer to have a little bit more security to make sure that no one's gonna be able to come along and take off with your ball mount. But this does come with a limited lifetime warranty. So if you we're to have any problems with it, You're more than welcome to reach out to us, we always want to make sure that our customers are having a good experience and getting good quality products. And I think this is gonna be a really nice addition to your towing setup, a very lightweight, easy to put in and take out of your hitch at anytime you're ready to tow. Won't take up much space when you're storing it, very easy to handle and with that aluminum construction you're not gonna have to worry about a rusting so that's gonna be nice for you. So that's gonna complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..
