Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Gen-Y Rebel X Ball Mount. This adjustable ball Mount is going to let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. The shank will slide into your two inch by two inch trailer hitch receiver on your vehicle. And then the ball platform here is gonna provide the mounting point for your hitch ball.

Now they do not include a hitch ball with this ball mount. And so you will have to provide your own. But this shank opening here is one inch in diameter. So pretty much any ball out there with a one inch diameter shank is gonna fit. So you're just gonna wanna make sure that you're getting a ball that is going to match your trailer couplers so that you can get connected very easily.

But once you get that correct diameter ball, it is very simple to just tighten it down like you saw me do. So there are about three different common size hitch balls, one in seven eighth two inch and two and five 16th inch. So you just want to make sure that you're getting the right diameter ball for your trailer coupler and getting that one inch diameter shank. So it'll slide down into that hole and you'll be ready to go. Now, this is a heavy duty steel construction for our ball Mount.

So it's going to have a gross towing weight of 7,000 pounds. Which is the weight of the trailer and the load included. It's going to have a maximum tongue weight, which is the downward pressure on that hitch ball of 700 pounds. So you want to make sure that you're distributing the weight in your trailer properly so that it's only putting 700 pounds down on that ball platform there. You can see we do have four stacked receiver tubes.

These are all two inch by two inch receiver tubes. So it's going to accept your ball platform as well as other hitch mount accessories that are that two inch by two inch shank. Very easy to slide in. They do include a pin here to keep those in place. So you can just slide that pin out and adjust this up or down. That adjustable height is going to allow you to tow trailers with different heights because it's very important that your trailer is riding level as you're going down the road. So this is going to allow you to switch from one trailer to another very easily. Just adjust the ball platform wherever you need it to be. So this is going to have a maximum drop. We'll have it in the lowest setting down here and in this drop configuration. So when we measure the drop, we're measuring from the top inside edge of our receiver tube or the top of our shank here down to right about our ball platform because that's about where our coupler is gonna sit once it's attached to that ball. And so from the top of our receiver tube, a shank here down to our ball platform. We're gonna have a maximum drop of six inches. So that's gonna accommodate our trailers that sit a little bit lower than our hitch if we need a rise. So our trailer is sitting up higher than our hitch. We can convert this to the rise position like so. Again from the top inside the edge of our receiver tube or the top of our shank up to the platform here where our coupler is gonna sit. It's gonna be about four and a half inches rise. So that's gonna give us quite a bit of adjustability there. So we can tow different height trailers, make sure that they are going to be riding level for us. Now you can see this does accommodate several different hitch pin distances so that this will work with multiple kinds of hitches. Those hitch pin holes on your hitch are not standard distance. So this is gonna allow you to fit with several different distances. Here these are your standard five 16th inch, oh sorry, five eighth inch diameter holes. So just your standard five eight inch hitch pin and clip will work there. You might want to consider getting a five eighth inch locking pin. If you wanna make sure that no one can just come along and take your pin out and take off with your rebel or your trailer. I would suggest getting that locking pin. But the distance here from where our receiver tube is gonna stop back to our front hole is going to be right at two and three quarters of an inch. Again, from where that receiver tube is going to stop back to our further hole. It is going to be three and three quarters of an inch. So make sure that that's gonna work for your setup. But it should accommodate just about all the hitches out there. And so that you can just put in that standard five eighths inch hitch pin that you probably already have to get this held in place. So it's not gonna wiggle its way out of your receiver tube. Now, like I said, this is a nice durable steel construction, but this does also have this powder coat finished here to help resist rust and corrosion. So it is gonna hold up really well for you for a long time to come. It comes with a limited lifetime warranty.
