This hitch combines with a Lock 'N' Roll trailer-end coupler (sold separately) to create a safe, secure, fully articulating connection that's great for towing whether you're on the road or off-road. It's more secure than a traditional ball hitch, and it's more comfortable and quieter than a pintle setup. The Lock 'N' Roll connects quickly and easily, and can adapt to any towing conditions.

Strong, Safe Connection

When using a traditional ball coupler, it can be hard to tell if the coupler is fully latched around the ball. You can head out assuming the connection is secure, only to have the trailer pop off of the ball and disconnect while you're towing. With the Lock 'N' Roll, that won't happen.

Lock N Roll Connected

This unique hitch is designed to interlock with a matching trailer-side coupler to form a tight, secure connection. Unlike on a ball coupler, the latching components on the Lock 'N' Roll system are easy to see, so you can tell at a glance if the connection is secure.

Once secure, the Lock 'N' Roll setup offers a wide range of motion, which makes for a smooth ride. Because of the articulating action of the combined hitch and coupler, the Lock 'N' Roll connection can handle the harsh bumps and road shock that could otherwise stress and potentially damage a ball coupler.

The Lock 'N' Roll connection also makes your trailer less vulnerable to theft. Unlike a traditional ball coupler, which is compatible with any hitch ball of a matching size, the trailer-side Lock 'N' Roll coupler can only connect to a vehicle-side Lock 'N' Roll hitch. So your trailer cannot be towed away unless it's connected to a vehicle with a Lock 'N' Roll hitch installed.

With the Lock 'N' Roll, you can have peace of mind knowing your connection will not come apart or succumb to damage caused by road shock, nor will your trailer be vulnerable to theft.

Comfortable Off-Road Towing

The pintle hitch connection is the most common setup when towing off road because of the flexibility in the connection. But that flexible connection can also result in a lot of slop. This can cause uncomfortable jerking as well as rattle and noise. In addition, when using a pintle/lunette ring setup, it can be difficult to back up your vehicle and trailer without jackknifing. And it can be hard to disconnect at certain angles, which may be a necessity when overlanding.

The Lock 'N' Roll assembly, on the other hand, offers a close-fit, slop-free connection that's designed for off-roading. This close-fitting design provides a smoother ride than a pintle/lunette ring connection with less rattle. It also makes it easy to back your vehicle and trailer up without jackknifing.

Offroading Jeep with a Lock 'N' Roll hitch

When combined, the Lock 'N' Roll hitch and coupler also create a fully articulating connection that's great for off-roading. The bearing that's built into the vehicle-end hitch allows for 360 degrees of rotation, which means that your trailer could actually roll all the way over and not take your vehicle with it. The connection also pivots side to side and up and down, making it easy to take rough trails without jarring your setup. This also allows for fast and easy disconnection, even at extreme angles.

How Lock 'N' Roll Works

Lock N Roll Fully Connected

Each Lock 'N' Roll setup requires 2 parts - a trailer end and a vehicle end. Together they create a strong, secure connection. To connect, just line up the trailer end and vehicle end together and place the outer metal tabs of the trailer-end coupler into the hooks on the vehicle-end hitch. Then fold the latching plates on the vehicle-end hitch down and secure them in place over the tabs using the included pin and clip. With the latching plates secured, the Lock 'N' Roll assembly will stay firmly connected.

In Action Diagram

When the trailer-side coupler and vehicle-side hitch are secured together, they form an articulating assembly with 3 axes of directional motion. The uniquely designed bearing on the vehicle-side hitch allows the connection to rotate a full 360 degrees. The trailer-side coupler's hinge allows the connection to pivot to the left and to the right. And when the 2 parts are joined, the tabs will roll inside of the hooks so that the entire assembly can tilt up and down.

Towing with the Lock 'N' Roll is easy, and it gives you a connection that's both flexible and secure.

Extremely well built and heavy duty. It has two length adjustments. Therefore my tailgate doesn't hit the hitch. Will give an update after I tow my overlanding camper. More to follow...

product was described well and came quickly, and was the right combo of two products I needed. However I thought it would come with a hitch pin, that might have been my error to think that though.

  • Choosing the Correct Rise/Drop for Lock N Roll Articulating Hitch
The # 336VS503515 comes with the adjustable channel bracket along with the adjustable channel mount and bolts. You will need to install the channel mount in the appropriate rise/drop position since it does not come fully assembled. It looks like you already have a complete Lock N Roll hitch so you actually don't need the # 336VS503515. Instead, you could get the # 336TS515 to replace your existing channel bracket. You can remove the # 336VS503 on your current Lock N Roll and install it...

  • Which Lock N Roll Coupler Fits On a 2005 Strarcraft RT10 Pop Up Camper?
Based on the images you sent in it appears your 2005 Starcraft RT10 does not use a traditional A-Frame coupler so the Lock N Roll # 336TS504 will not work for your application. Instead you will need to measure the width between your frame rails the current coupler sits at where you see the welds. This will allow you to weld in a 2" # 336TS528, 2-1/2" # 336TS506 or 3" # 336TS508 channel style coupler. Do note these measurements are for the inside the coupler measurement so you will need...

  • Availability of Lock N Roll Ball Mount With 6" Rise for Towing Tear Trailer
A High-Low adapter like the one you looked at is only intended for flat towing, not towing a trailer. Regardless, I would not use a separate adapter with the Lock N Roll. Use of your typical adapter will reduce the capacity of the hitch by 50%. It also isn't the best idea to add in an additional part with the design of the system. The best option is to get the Lock N Roll Articulating Hitch w/ 5-Position Channel # 336VS503515. This has a maximum rise/drop of 8-1/4" with 2" hole spacing...

  • Is There a Trailer Coupler Designed For Offroading
There is a trailer coupler designed specifically to be used for offroading, from Lock N Roll. This uses an articulating connection between the coupler and accompanying hitch mount that gives a full 360 degree rotation between the two. So the trailer won't bounce off a hitch ball as you go over uneven surfaces as there isn't a hitch ball in use. You can use either of the following couplers, depending on if your trailer has an A-frame or 3" channel: - Lock N Roll Articulating Channel Tongue...

  • Can Lock N Roll Articulating Hitch 336VS503515 Be Used In The Rise Position?
Yes the Lock N Roll Articulating Hitch w/ 5-Position Channel - 2" Receivers - Vehicle Side - 11K # 336VS503515 you were looking at can be used in either the rise or drop position to get your trailer level. Using the # 336VS503515 in the rise position will not physically lift your trailer, but if your trailer is higher you may need to use the rise position to get the trailer level to your tow vehicle. With the Lock N Roll Articulating Hitch # 336VS503515 I recommend using the Tuson Asymmetric Sway Control # 335TSC-1000. This sway control attaches to the electric trailer brakes on your trailer and will activate the brakes independently on the left or right side to help reduce/prevent trailer sway. Since it is wired to the trailer there are no mechanical parts to attach and remove whenever you connect to the trailer.

It gives you a distance of 1-3/4" difference to the 15-1/2" of the trailer tongue. When you connect to the trailer, the suspension on your Ranger will lower with the extra weight. When Lock N Roll Measured the Articulating Hitch w/ 3-Position Channel # 336VS503505 they state that they are measuring from the center of the receiver pin hole to the center of the trailer connector pin at 5-1/2". As this is generally not how ball mounts are measured our measurement will be from the top of the receiver tube to the top of latching mechanism for the rise and drop measurements. • Adjustable Height Setup for Lock N Roll Articulating Hitch Setup
While the shank of your current Lock N Roll articulating hitch would fit into the hitch opening of the # 3371802225 we can't recommend you go that route as it was not intended for use in any other way aside from with the adjustable ball mount setup.
