Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at a Reese trailer hitch starter ball mount kit. This ball mount kit is designed to come with the essential components needed to allow you to tow a trailer behind your vehicle. It fits inside of an inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter trailer hitch opening and it comes with a two-inch hitch ball already installed for towing a trailer behind your vehicle. The unit's made from durable steel, has a nice black powder-coated finish on the actual mount, and then a chrome plating or chrome finish on the actual hitch ball. The ball comes installed on the mount in the rise position. This can be removed and installed with the mount in the drop position if needed. But with it in the rise position it offers a 3/4 inch rise.
That's from the inside top edge of the receiver tube of your hitch up to the top of the ball platform. If you have it installed in the drop position, that would give you from this point here to this point here a drop of an inch and a quarter. So rise, 3/4 inches, drop, inch and a quarter. It does come with your half-inch pin and clip to secure the mount inside of your hitch. One of the neat features about this system is it features the interlock one-wrench tightening system. A lot of times on a ball mount you need to have a wrench up here and a wrench tightening the nut on the bottom, but on this one you don't.
It actually has indentions so you can see how that portion kind of fits or sits inside of the indention here. That holds it in place, so all you need to do is tighten this one down. Now it does come installed already, so that really only applies if you're gonna take this one out and maybe replace it with another one, or if you're gonna take this hitch ball and install it on the mount in the drop position. But, again, the interlock one-wrench tightening system makes it very simple to do that if ever needed. The gross towing weight capacity on this unit is 3500 pounds. Tongue weight capacity is 300 pounds.
The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the hitch ball is nine inches, and the product is covered with a limited lifetime warranty. And that's gonna do it for today's look at the Reese trailer hitch starter ball mount kit.

I needed an very specific ball mount(class I, 1/2" rise, 2" ball). etrailer had what I needed in stock and available to ship next day. I had the thing ordered in 60 seconds. Wish I wouldn't have waisted my time and gas shopping at my local hardware stores only to find they didnt have what I needed.
This hitch does exactly what I expect it to do with no issues. I would have given it five stars if it brought me coffee in the mornings as well:)
Perfect fit for my hitch and trailer. Pulled really well.
Just put it on my John Deere x738 and fits perfect. Looking foward to trying it out.
