Have you ever been towing and had to deal with that awful back-and-forth jostling for your entire trip? It's enough to make you feel sick. And that bumpy, jerky ride not only takes a toll on you as you drive, but it beats up your equipment too, leading to premature wear and tear on both your truck and trailer. This is because most ball mounts are made almost completely of metal, so there's nothing to help soften the road shock you experience while driving down the highway at high speeds.
Fortunately, the Shocker Hitch XRC helps solve that problem.
The Shocker Hitch XRC ball mount is equipped with 2 rubber bumpers located on opposite sides of the adjustable channel. When the channel body moves back and forth along with your trailer, these bumpers help to absorb the road shock and vibration. This cushion helps protect your equipment and, more importantly, keeps you and your passengers from getting jostled around the cab when you're towing over bumpy roads and rough terrain.
Unlike other shock-absorbing systems that use air bags, which require you to consistently add and remove air, the XRC is nearly maintenance-free. Just grease it up using the zerk fitting on the side of the unit, and you're ready to go.
If you tow trailers with various heights, adjusting the height of the hitch ball is an easy process. When the ball mount is in its standard drop position, simply remove the pins and clips holding the ball mount platform in place and slide the platform up or down to the desired location. You can also flip the unit over and use it in its rise position, giving you even more versatility. Once you have the correct height, reinsert the pins and secure the clips, and fold back the handles so they're out of the way. Then you're ready to go.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com, and today, we are taking a look at this Shocker XRC Cushioned Adjustable Drop Ball Mount with this 2 5/16 inch hitch ball for a two inch shank, this is gonna be rated at 12,000 pounds. This ball mount uses bumper stop technology to reduce road shock and provide a more comfortable towing experience. So this shock absorbing ball mount uses these twin bump stops to dampen road shock, and included here are these two easy to use pins that gonna be very easy to remove, they have these large rings that are easy to grip and to get ahold of, I can easily fit up to four fingers in these rings, and also these nice large safety clips that's going to make securing these pins very easy, so no more fumbling with small hitch pin heads. What I'm gonna do is just show you how easy this is to adjust, so I'm gonna pull out my large safety clips, and then let me turn this around. These rings can be folded on either side to move out of your way if need be, so let me go ahead and remove the bottom pin first, and then I'm just gonna move it up here, line up my holes. There you go.
And you do have a range here of 7 1/2 inches of adjustability, so you have a range of 7 1/2 inches. Let me again show you how easy it is to clip on the safety clip. So as you can see, we have adjusted this and we are secured here. The inside width of this channel is 3 3/4 inches wide, and so you're gonna get that 7 1/2 of adjustability, you're gonna be able to tow trailers of various different heights, and the distance between these vertical mounting holes are sitting right at an inch, so you have an inch between each of those adjustment holes. This is going to work with all Shocker Hitch ball mounts and attachments, including the standard mount, the combination ball, the pintle hook, the sway bar mount, and more.
Now of course, all those attachments are sold separately, but you can find them under the related products section of this product page. Now, this zerk fitting that you see here at the pivot point is gonna make maintenance simple, you just attach a grease gun there to that fitting, and you're gonna be able to grease that pivot point and keep that easily maintained. And this is made in the USA, and does have a Grade 50 steel plate construction and a cold-rolled steel shank, so that's gonna provide maximum durability. The gross towing weight again is 12,000 pounds, the tongue weight is 1,200 pounds. This is shot blasted and powder coated to prevent rust, and this 2 5/16 inch ball is zinc-plated, so this is going to be ideal for towing trailers and campers between 2,500 pounds, and well, 1,000 pounds.
Again, this is gonna fit a two inch trailer hitch receiver. The pin and clips are sold separately. However, I would recommend checking out the InfiniteRule locking pins for Shocker Hitch ball mounts for two inch and 2 1/2 inch hitches, you will get three of those pins, one is to secure your hitch, your Shocker Hitch to the receiver hitch of your vehicle, and then the other two locking pins will secure your attachments, such as this ball mount to your Shocker Hitch. You can find those locking pins on our website using item number IR39FR. Speaking of the hitch pin hole, the distance between the first hitch pin hole and the center of our ball is gonna be sitting in about 10 1/2 inches, and then from that second hitch pin hole to the center of the ball is sitting at 11 1/2 inches, and this can accommodate hitch mounted mudflaps.
Well, that's gonna conclude our look today, I hope this was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me..
