Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com, and today, we're gonna take a look at this Shocker XR Adjustable Drop Ball Mount with two inch ball. This is for a 2 1/2 inch hitch receiver. Now, this solid heavy-duty channel-style adjustable ball mount with this drop ball attachment and two inch ball, provides a wide range of adjustability. And as you can see here, there are two easy to remove pins, and these large rings, which I can fit up to four of my fingers through, are easy to grasp, so no more fumbling with small hitch pin heads. This also includes a large safety clips that's gonna make removing and securing the clips and the pins very easy. Let me give you a brief demonstration of how easy this is to adjust this ball mount.
So I am gonna go ahead and turn this around, and as you can see, these pins come right out. I'm just gonna adjust it to the top here, line up my holes, there we go. And so, I'm gonna turn this back around then and secure the clips. Now, you will get a maximum drop of 7 1/2 inches, and if you flip this hitch over, then you will get a maximum rise of zero inches, so you're gonna have 7 1/2 inches of adjustability to support a wide range of towing needs. The inside channel width is gonna be 3 3/4 inches wide, and then the distance between each of these vertical adjustment holes, center to center, is going to be an inch in between each of those holes.
So this is gonna work with all Shocker Hitch ball mount and attachments, including the combination ball, the pintle hook, the sway bar mount, and more. Of course, those attachments are sold separately, but can be found under the related product section on this product page. Now, this is made in the USA and is of a Grade 50 steel plate construction and a cold-rolled steel shank, it's gonna provide maximum durability. This is shot blasted and powder coated to prevent rust, and the ball is zinc plated. The gross towing weight is 10,000 pounds, but remember that a towing setup is always limited by its lowest rated component, whether that be your vehicle, your hitch, or another component.
Again, this is going to fit 2 1/2 inch trailer hitch receivers. The hitch pin hole diameter is 5/8 of an inch. The pin and clip is sold separately, so if you do not have a pin and clip that's compatible with a 5/8 of an inch pin hole, that would be a separate purchase. However, I do recommend taking a look at the InfiniteRule locking pins for the Shocker Hitch ball mounts for two inch and 2 1/2 inch hitches. You will get three locking pins, one pin will lock and secure your Shocker Hitch to the trailer hitch receiver on the back of your vehicle, and then the other two locking pins will replace these pins to lock and secure your attachments to your Shocker Hitch, so it is a great way to protect and secure your investment.
You can find those locking pins on our website using item number IR39FR. The distance from the first hitch pin hole to the center of our ball is gonna be about 9 1/2 inches, and then from the second hitch pin hole to the center of our ball, it's gonna be about 10 1/2 inches. Well, that's gonna conclude our look today, I do hope that that was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me..
