Have you ever been towing and had to deal with that awful back-and-forth jostling for your entire trip? It's enough to make you feel sick. And that bumpy, jerky ride not only takes a toll on you as you drive, but it beats up your equipment too, leading to premature wear and tear on both your truck and trailer. This is because most ball mounts are made almost completely of metal, so there's nothing to help soften the road shock you experience while driving down the highway at high speeds.
Fortunately, the Shocker Hitch XRC helps solve that problem.
The Shocker Hitch XRC ball mount is equipped with 2 rubber bumpers located on opposite sides of the adjustable channel. When the channel body moves back and forth along with your trailer, these bumpers help to absorb the road shock and vibration. This cushion helps protect your equipment and, more importantly, keeps you and your passengers from getting jostled around the cab when you're towing over bumpy roads and rough terrain.
Unlike other shock-absorbing systems that use air bags, which require you to consistently add and remove air, the XRC is nearly maintenance-free. Just grease it up using the zerk fitting on the side of the unit, and you're ready to go.
If you tow trailers with various heights, adjusting the height of the hitch ball is an easy process. When the ball mount is in its standard drop position, simply remove the pins and clips holding the ball mount platform in place and slide the platform up or down to the desired location. You can also flip the unit over and use it in its rise position, giving you even more versatility. Once you have the correct height, reinsert the pins and secure the clips, and fold back the handles so they're out of the way. Then you're ready to go.

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com, and today we're taking a look at this Shocker XRC cushioned, adjustable drop ball mount with this 2 5/16-inch hitch ball. And this is for a 2 1/2-inch hitch receiver. This ball mount uses bumper-stop technology to reduce shock and provide a more comfortable towing experience. Now, this shock-absorbing ball mount has twin bump stops here at the top. That is going to dampen road shock and make your towing experience more comfortable. And as you can see here, this also includes two easy-to-remove pins, and they have these large rings that are gonna be easy to grasp.
As you can see, I can fit up to four fingers in each of these rings, so no more fumbling with small hitch pin heads. On the other side, we have large safety clips. That's gonna make securing the pins and these clips very easy. And I want to just give you a brief demonstration to show you how easy this is to adjust. So I'm gonna go ahead and remove these large safety clips, and let me turn this around on the other side here.
I'm just gonna give it a little bit of a, just adjust it a little bit. So I'm gonna go ahead and remove my pins. And by the way, these large rings can be folded either direction if you need to move them out of your way. Let me just go ahead and line up those holes and insert the pins. Now, you're gonna get a range of drop from zero inches to 7 1/2 inches, and this is going to be great in allowing you to tow trailers of various heights.
The inside channel width here is gonna be 3 3/4 inches across in between, and the distance of these vertical adjustment holes is one inch between each of those holes. So this is going to work with all Shocker Hitch ball mounts and attachments, including the standard mount, the combination ball, the pintle hook, the sway bar mount, and more. Course, those attachments are sold separately, but you can find 'em under the Related Products section of this product page. Now, this Zerk fitting here is going to allow simple and easy maintenance of this pivot point. And just put a grease gun there, and that'll allow you to grease that as needed.
This is made in the USA and is a Grade 50 steel plate construction and a cold-rolled steel shank. It's gonna provide maximum durability. The gross towing weight for this is 12,000 pounds. The tongue weight is 1,200 pounds. And the hitch is also shot blasted and powder coated to prevent rust, and the 2 5/16-inch ball is zinc plated. Now, again, this is going to fit 2 1/2-inch trailer hitch receivers. The hitch pin hole diameter is 5/8 of an inch. The pin and clips to secure this hitch to your hitch receiver are sold separately. However, I would recommend checking out the InfiniteRule locking pins for Shocker Hitch ball mounts for two-inch and 2 1/2-inch hitches. You will get three of those locking pins, one to secure your Shocker Hitch to your hitch receiver on the rear of your vehicle and then two additional locking pins to lock your attachment to your Shocker Hitch. You can find them on our website using item number IR39FR. Now, the distance from the first hitch pin hole to the center of our ball is gonna be right at about 10 1/2 inches, and then from the second hitch pin hole to the center of our ball, about 11 1/2 inches. And this will be able to accommodate hitch-mounted mud flaps. Well, that's gonna conclude our look today. I hope it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me..
