Narrator Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the TowSmart Baja Collection Ball Mount with the two inch hitch ball, fits the one and a quarter inch hitches. Now this has a two and a half inch drop and a two inch rise and a 3,500 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now this ball mount'll let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. The shank right back here is what it'll slide into your vehicle's one and a quarter inch hitch receiver and it'll secure into your receiver using this included pin and clip. Hitch pin diameter is a half an inch.
So once you slide this in your receiver, line your holes up, slide your pin all the way through and then clip it to hold it into place. Now we do also sell hitch locks which are sold separately if you want extra security to lock this to your hitch receiver. Now the hitch ball right up front here, this provides a connection point for your trailer's couplet. The diameter on the hitch ball is two inches. And also what's nice is this ball mount is designed with a unique X-shaped shank, you can see here, so that water can drain out of the receiver when this is installed, prevents it from seizing up.
Now we mentioned both drop and rise positions are available to ensure level towing. The drop on this, which will be measured from the top of the shank, top of the ball platform, is two and a half inches. That would be in this position. If you flip it over into the rise position, it would get you a two inch rise measured from here to here. But if you notice, the ball would have to be un-loosened and flipped over and torque back into place to work in that position.
But they do make it easier because this does offer a lock rail system if you're gonna change the ball around, want to zoom in and show you that up close. But they call the lock rail system because if you look there's a raised edge on here, sort of makes these rails and if you flip it over and if in the rise position's the same way, they have these rise areas and the reason they do that, it helps you when you go to put your ball, like if you're gonna take this off and flip it in the rise, the ball has wrench flats on it, they call it, where you'll use a wrench to hold it into place. But in this case, you can flip either way. If you install it this way or put it in the rise, when you flip it over, those wrench flats are gonna line up with the lock rails and hold it for you. So you only need one wrench for the nut.
You don't have to have two wrenches, one to hold the ball and one to tighten the nut. So with these lock rails, it makes it easier to install your ball to the ball mount. Now this is a durable steel with glossy black finish to resist rust and corrosion. Application, again, I mentioned it fits one and a quarter inch by one and a quarter inch trailer hitch receivers. Gross towing weight capacity is 3,500 pounds. Tongue weight of 350 pounds. And the last thing, just wanna give you the length and when we mention the length, on a ball mount, it's measured from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball. So on this one, you can see if we go center of the hole to the center of the ball is seven and three quarter inches for the length. But that's gonna do it for a look at this TowSmart Baja Collection ball mount with the two inch hitch ball for one and a quarter inch hitches.
