Today we are going to take a look at the BMW 2-5/16" Hitch Ball with the 1" rise, the long shank, has a raw finish and has a 30,000 lb weight capacity. This Hitch Ball will provide a nice connection point for your trailer's coupler, has the built in rise here that will let you easily match the ball to your trailer height. Basically this ball will sit about an extra inch above the ball mount platform when it is installed. The shank itself uses about 12 threads per inch on the shank. This will provide a nice, tight strong grip when it is installed. This is a heat-treated steel which is very durable, has a nice raw finish to it. The lock washer and the nut are all included. This part is made in the USA.
A few specs on this; the ball diameter is 2-5/16 and that is actually even stamped on the top of the ball. The weight is stamped up here, it has a weight capacity of 30,000 lbs. The rise portion we mentioned is going to be 1 inch and then the shank dimensions, the total length of the shank is going to be right at 2-3/4 inches long and the diameter on it is going to be right at 1-1/2 inches. When you go to install this, you'll just drop the shank portion through the hole on the ball mount, put your lock washer on, take your large nut right and tighten that down and just use the torque specs that are recommended for that application. That should do it for the review of the BMW 2-5/16 Hitch Ball with the 1" rise, a long shank and a raw finish and a 30,000 lb weight capacity.

Designed for heavy-duty towing.s a full tim RVer, I've had the hitch now for about 14 months and have to say with the exception of it not coming apart on me, I'm pretty disappointed with the condition. Ive got about 10k plus miles on it. See attached photos. Its very noisy. It likes to slam forward and aft. They put pucks on the side to side but not forward to aft. The paint almost immediately started to flake with in one month of use and continued to..to-date. The bolt holding the yoke preventing forward and aft movement sherred with only 80 inch lbs of torque...twice. the factory and the replacement they sent me. Finally I had to upgrade the bolt to a harder bolt to alow me to get to the required torque of 100 inch pounds. The bolt has to be torqued every trip. Long trips...every day. The design distributes the load on the flat bed and bends bends the bed. Unfortunately, there is not much out there to choose from so its give and take. Its done the job but would like to see it hold up better and see some design changes. I just ordered a new base today so we will see how it does.
Used this hitch ball for a custom gooseneck hitch I made for a semi, the original was to short so in external articulation I would scrap the gooseneck and hitch. Buy this ball with the 1” lift in it really helped and I can’t get the hitch to hit anymore! Working great
Looked everywhere for a certain size ball for a gooseneck, even on Amazon. Found it here. Good prices and speedy delivery.
Order process was easy, speedy delivery and good product.
The B&W 30,000 pound ball is an excellent no-frills option. It's extremely durable. We prefer to use the nut AND weld the base to the mounting plate. Reliability and durability are important for our needs. We have a few one ton trucks and several trailers. This ball exceeds the weight rating of every piece of equipment. It's a great option for our needs. Please remember to chock your trailer.
Ball is excellent !!! Well built , and had the tow rating I was after with 1 1/2 shank and with the rise I needed to get up a little higher out of my bed! I made my own hitch and this ball was exactly what I was after . If you need a threaded shank this ball works great for gooseneck hitch ! I also went with basic shipping and it took 3 days to my door !! etrailer did a great job sending me email updates and prompt processing. I do reccomend using them !
