Video Transcript for What to Know About the Fulton Marine Grade 2" Hitch Lock

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we gonna take a quick look at this Fulton Stainless Steel Hitch Lock for two inch hitches. This is going to make sure that any of your hitch mount accessories, like a ball mount, cargo carrier, bike rack is gonna stay inside your hitch, it's not gonna wiggle it's way free and it's not going to be easily stolen. This lock is going to have this square key design, so it's gonna be much harder to pick. Once we get it unlocked, can pull the head off there, and you can see, we do have this ball bearing lock style. So that's gonna be a little bit more secure than some of your other styles that have more of a tapered connection there that the lock attaches onto.

So, even if someone we're to pry the head off, or damage the head, that ball bearing is still going to press out so that your lock will still be secure. You can see as I put this on and off, it is a little bit of a challenge to put that head in place. That's due to the internal gasket that we have there. That's gonna make sure that no dirt and debris can get in there and cause any issues, and it's gonna be nice and secure for us. Then, when we have it in place, we can just push in on the lock side there.

I do wanna show you this in action. So, I've got a ball mount here on my stand, so it's gonna be very easy once we get our accessory lined up with our hitch pin holes. Just slide that lock through, once it comes out on the other side, you'll be able to attach the head portion, like so, push in and then that is locked. We do include this little cap that you can put over top there and just to make sure that dirt and debris doesn't get in to your lock core. It also helps to keep out moisture and that sort of thing.

And so now, this is gonna be nice and secure for us. When we're ready to remove it, just pull off that cap, put one of the two included keys in, give it a little turn, it'll pop out for us, so that we know that it's unlocked and just wiggle the head off there and we'll be able to slide this out to switch out to another hitch mount accessory or to just take off the accessory altogether. So, just that one little demonstration, it's, kind of, messed up the sticker here, but once you have that sticker off, you probably won't notice any major difference between putting in on and taking it off. It should do a good job, last you a long time, make sure that all of your hitch mounted accessories are going to be secure. Not gonna have to worry about someone coming along, taking off with them.

Now, this is a stainless steel construction, so it is gonna be great for your marine uses. So, if you're putting on a ball mount so that you can pull your boat down to the lake, you don't have to worry about this getting wet. It's gonna hold up well and do a good job of preventing corrosion and that sort of thing. This is your standard five eighth inch diameter, so it's gonna work in place of your pin and clip, for just about all two inch by two inch trailer hitch receivers, just slide right into that pin hole as I demonstrated. Our span here is two and seven eighths of an inch, so it will fit and give you plenty of room on that two inch hitch. So, it is gonna do a good job for you, gonna work really well for any of your hitch mounted accessories, and make sure that they are gonna be secured. So, that's gonna complete look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..

works pretty well. The rubber cap can be hard to remove but I guess that is good as it will keep dirt and moisture out

Perfect…. Same product as description. Not a photo manipulation of garbage. Good quality , fast shipping. Thanks!

Looks great, much stronger design than the previous locks I've had. With it being made from stainless steel, it should last a good long time, so we will see.

works great, have no worries

by:

Works easy. I like the distinctive profile of the key. East to identify from all the other kers on my RV key ring. Locking is an easy visual verification, though the actual locking is internal so hard to trust at first. If the locking barrel is "in" and the key is removed, it's positively locked. It was a new design to me.

No rust and going strong!

Excellent service and communication thru ordering, shipping and delivery

  • Keyed Alike Hitch Receiver Lock
No, I am sorry the Fulton Marine Grade 2" Hitch Lock item # F57CR you referenced is keyed unique and does not have the option of replacement keys. I recommend replacing it with a etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2" Hitch - Flush - 2-5/8" Span item # e98882. This hitch lock is the same size and has the option of being keyed alike when you purchase multiple locks. You select keyed alike then enter in how many extra locks you want.
