Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. And today, we're gonna take a look at this Yakima HitchLock for the Yakima hitch mounted bike racks. This HitchLock is going to lock and secure your Yakima hitch mounted bike carrier to your vehicle's hitch receiver, ensuring the safety of your gear. Now, this is going to work with any Yakima hitch mounted bike carrier. And this will simply attach to the end of your existing Yakima hitch pin.
And I happen to have a Yakima hitch pin right here. So, this is gonna be very simple to use. You're just going to push the lock over the end of the pin until it clicks as you just heard there and then it is in place. And then to remove, you're just going to take one of the included keys and you are gonna get two keys. And just insert the key into the lock, give it a quarter of a turn, and it will slide right off.
Now, this lock includes Yakima's Same Key System or SKS locking core and as I mentioned, two keys. And what's nice about these SKS cores is they can be changed out and keyed alike with your other Yakima locks. This also has, as you can see, an attached dust cap and that is going to help keep the dirt and debris out of your lock. And this does have a lifetime warranty. David at Yakima did a great job of solving my locks and keys problem. The solutions were efficient and covered under warranty. I was VERY satisfied with the excellent service from Yakima. TheYakima EXO Swing Away Storage System w/ 2 Enclosed Cargo Carriers that I bought through etrailer has proven to be an excellent addition to my Mercedes Sprinter van. Easy installation and use. The lockers keep everything nice and dry.

The Yakima HitchLock for my Yakima Bike Rack is exactly what I needed. It is easy to use. Now I don't have to worry about my hitch getting stolen. I appreciate that two keys came with it, so I can keep one safe at home if I were ever to misplace one.

I received this hitchlock today. It fits my Yakima hitch fine and will provide the additional security for the hitch that I was looking for.

The lock works fine. The only problem is that the plastic lock cap and attachment are hard plastic and not flexible enough to actually get the cover onto the lock face. So, I have never used it with the cap on.

easy to use and works great so far. only reason for 4 stars, the cover kept popping off. It just seems a bit stiff or short on the strap to stay on. may after breaking it in, it will do better.

Exact device to replace my old one and arrived very quickly and as ordered. My bike rack lock was damaged when it fell off a moving car ( We forgot we had placed it on the car between the hood and the windshield.) We found the black part but the lock part was gone. So happy to find this new part to replace the old one, it is the exact device for locking my bike rack

Lock works perfectly for my Yakima long arm extended bed for my pickup when leaving my pickup when I’m out on the water with my kayak . Ordering was a piece of cake and delivery was only a week . Very happy with my purchase. Would definitely do business with etrailer again ….

Good delivery time. Product works as intended. Just a heads up, if you were looking to match this lock with a current Kieu old, please make sure to watch the set up videos so you order correctly. It’s not a problem that I have to use two keys, but I made the mistake of not knowing how to order properly.

Took forever and a day to get, BUT the team at etrailer stayed with the order, convinced me they had it under observation and when Yakima finally restocked their warehouse, I had my hitch lock in a few days. Great company, great service, and I like this lock.

The lock does exactly what it is supposed to do. Buying from etrailer was a great experience. When I ordered the lock I was notified it was on backorder. The customer service team kept me updated on when it was going to be back in stock and when it was being shipped. Then they followed up when it was going to be shipped. After a year of minimal use it's tough to give a respectable review of this Hitch lock. The locking system with key worked with no issues with each use. The concern with this system is not with the lock itself, but with the thin diameter of the shaft that enters the lock which can be easily compromised with a hacksaw blade from thieves.

Never could get it to lock -- I turned the key to lock it and it pulled right off the hitch, just like my old lock did.

The lock appears to be not to substantial in construction. The theft of bike rack would appear to be easy. Iam disappointed in the design. Considering the cost of electric/conventional bikes and the bike carrier itself, I would think enhanced design for theft prevention would have been priority.

We just ordered our 3rd Yakima Hitchcock for the bike rack. For some reason they keep falling off. We get home from a trip to unpack and the lock is gone. AND - know that we are careful about how it's attached since the first one disappeared. Some sort of flaw, very frustrating....
