Use this on the Curt receiver hitch I have installed on my 2006 Subaru WRX Wagon. My WRX was once a garage queen (until my wife got a new car this year), but now it gets parked on the street in front of my house. I prefer to leave the Yakima rack installed on the car, so this gives me peace of mind (along with a camera and exterior lighting) that the rack *stays* on the car. Been a couple of years now and I've had no issues. Happy customer.

Having keyed alike locks is brilliant
This product has some very subtle features that add substantially to it's functionality. There is no "UP" or "DOWN" for the key - it fits both ways! You can turn the lock end or the pin end to undo it - good if one side is difficult to reach! And I was able to buy three of them from etrailer.com that were all keyed alike! I have two Model Ts and a Model A all with trailer hitches for pulling a vintage camper and now I don't have to worry about having the right key when I go on a trip.
Purchased two of these for a custom dual 1.5" auxiliary receivers. Wasn't sure if it was going to fit because they have a 2" OD receiver, but these fit nice and snug. No slop or play which is exactly what I was looking for and they were keyed alike.
This receiver locks works like it shoul d.
Used this to lock my Hitch Adapter to the 1.25" hitch of my 08 Honda Fit. Works great. Still had to get a hitch clamp due to too much play between the adapter and my hitch, but the lock does what it's supposed to do. Very easy to use and comes with (2) keys. Would highly recommend buying if you want to secure any accessory to your 1.25" hitch.

Nice product, just had an issue when installing. item did not slide into the
receiver/hitch open hole smoothly had to tap it with a hammer also when removing it. This had to do with the hole alignment not the product.
The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock came as promised and worked well on my 1-1/4" hitch receiver. The instructions for locking and unlocking were clear, and I now feel that my bike rack is safe and sound locked on the receiver. Great product!
Got this to insure that my receiver light doesn't disappear.

Bought my trailer from [store]. Pulled the 5x8 trailer from Colorado to Michigan and back and it went without a hitch you might say. At 400 lbs I hardly knew it was being pulled behind me and I would have to say that the whole package of items I purchased from etrailer performed flawlessly. Thanks again etrailer.

What do you do when you need three trailers coupler locks and two trailer hitch receiver locks all keyed the same.......order them from Etrailer.

While this seems to be a sturdy, well-made product, it is not the optimum set-up for a Subaru Outback equipped with a factory-installed 1.25" hitch.
Quite simply, the pin hole drilled in the 1.25" section is not where it should be. In order for it to line up with the hole in the Subaru hitch, the hole would need to be another 1.5" or so closer to the "rear". Not that this doesn't work, for it does--- but with the unit sticking out yet another 1.5" or so from the hitch. To remedy this, I drilled another half inch hole into the unit where it should be located. Now it works great, but it took considerable effort (and a $20 titanium drill bit) to get it right.
Again, this unit will work in a Subaru Outback without drilling another hole in it; it's just not optimal.

I needed keyed alike hitch receiver locks for a 2" and 1"1/4 receivers, because I move by bike rack between 2 vehicles.They answered my email request the same day and were able to provide the EXACT solution I needed. I would not have been able to get this solution from any of the big box stores. The product shipped quickly, worked like a charm, and was exactly what I needed. This is the second successful order I have made from etrailer.com and will definitely use them again.
This is an easy lock to use, and stows really well whenever it's not in use, and is well constructed! I look forward to many more years of good use. I especially like that I was able to get it keyed to match a similar lock for my 2" hitch!
Great service ... the young ladies whom I dealt with at Etrailer were courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable. After placing my initial order, I shortly recognized the advisability of adding a bolt-lock to the order (it WAS suggested to me by the young lady who first took my order but I declined it) --- I appreciated the effort Tamara in Customer Service put into modifying my order and still getting everything shipped the same day. The items arrived at my house in western New York State sooner than I expected. I was able to install the hitch to the underside of my 2007 Honda Fit with reasonable effort -- I am very satisfied with the hitch too. I haven't actually used the platform bike carrier yet but will do so in a few days and I think I will be pleased with it. I'm also glad I got the bolt-lock.
I just received the Hitch Receiver lock. I like the fact that you can lock it as opposed to the pin lock. I have not used it yet but so far ordering, delivery and product has been great. Thanks.
Doesn't fit through the receiver and the extension to lock it onto my car so it pretty much worthless. Cannot seem to make contact with anyone at e-trailer to return it
This lock has different way of unlocking and locking by turning the key in the lock until it opens or is locked. Not a bad thing as the lock appears to have excellent security against attempts to break it by thieves. The finish on the lock appears to have good protection against the elements. All hitch locks should be designed this well. The one that matches it is the Bulldog hitch lock for a 2 inch receiver.
