I am very impressed with this product. The construction on the class 5 hitch is something to brag about! Very well constructed and made. The welds and craftsmanship looks great. The only mods I had to do, the center holes on the frame were off about a 1/4 inch, it’s was no problem to drill out with the right tools. It is well worth the time to install, took me about and hour. This is why I’m always proud to buy products made in the USA [Thumbs up] The quality of the B&W hitch is unmatched. The process and shipment was fast as well.

Perfect fit on my chevy 3500 cab and chassis pickup. was missing a few washers but found some to finish install... fast shipping ordered on 3/16 received it 3/22

1986 Chevrolet C/K Series Pickup

Great hitch, I didn’t even have to drill one hole in the frame on my 1988 GMC v3500, it bolted right in. The receiver tucked under the bumper very good
The only thing I didn’t like was the trailer wiring plug bracket because it didn’t accommodate the new style 7-way and 4-way plug that come on the new Chevy trucks

by:

Arrived fast, fit exactly on my motorhome. This is a well built hitch and I no longer worry about TW or trailer weight.

by:
1968 Ford F-100

Very good quality American made item. It fit my 1968 Ford F-100 perfect. It sits right below my new Fey step bumper and I can't even see it except for the square receiver hole.

Comments
Used it 4 times last year to pull my 25 foot Airstream using an equalizer hitch. Still works great!

by:

It is a great reciver hitch. Bolted right up to my 1985 chevy k30. I tow all the time so a good strong hitch is important.

by:

This B&W hitch replaced an old 8k hitch on my 1996 Ford F-250.
Holes from the previous hitch matched the new hitch exactly.
I would suggest loosely putting the frame rail arms of the hitch on first. Then installing the crossmember of the hitch. The torquing everything to spec. Makes this a lot easier job

by:
2002 Ford F-350, 450, and 550 Cab and Chassis

You sent me one that does not fit my ford 450 van cutaway 2002, the bolt holes don’t line up and it’s about 4” to short. Now I have know idea what to do ,I cannot make this fit , I’m sorry I don’t blame you folks because this is supper hitch and very well made but it won’t fit.

by:

Installed on a 1996 F250. The fit was good. This is a good quality, heavy duty hitch.

by:
1984 Chevrolet C/K Series Pickup

I ordered this hitch for my 84 Chevy D30 military truck. After a few modifications to the existing mounting brackets for the tow hooks and the rear bumper I installed the new hitch assembley. Make sure you loose install all bolts first before tightening. Tighten new hitch assembly last. One of the most difficult parts is getting the Pindel hitch bolts lined up. I would suggest a good tapered line up bar.

by:

Good fit on a 1986 M1008 w military bumper. Had to loosen shackle mounts to get it slid in but all lined up.

by:

Extremely solid! Installed on my 1979 K30. I did have to drill out the middle mounting bolt hole. But other than that everything went smoothly.

by:

Install was pretty straight forward, did it by myself with help from a floor jack. Fit and finish is excellent. Will be ordering a B & W turnover ball for the same truck soon.

by:

I couldn't find what i was looking for anywhere else and e trailer had exactly what i wwanted. I am extremely please with the customer service I received and the product. I will be using etrailer first from now on thank you etrailer.

by:

Hitch fit perfectly on my 1989 Dodge W150! Took less than an hour to install, only had to drill 2 holes to fasten it to the frame.

by:

Awesome, delivered on scheduled and installed the same day with ease! High quality materials and easy to follow instructions. The license plate cut out was from the old hitch. The B&W trailer hitch was perfect fit no cutting necessary.

by:

I still think B&W is the best hitch for my needs. The build quality is evident in the tongue weight rating. Not going to bend this one without some first having major abuse to everything else connected.

by:

Very well built hitch. Fit great on the frame of my square body Chevy!

by:

My hitch was a direct bolt on and was so easy to install

by:

This trailer hitch as endured lots of abuse especially in the winter, from pulling people out of the ditch.

by:

Far heavier duty than I expected (see hernia in dictionary) It only lined up with two of the holes in the frame so I had to drill 4. I used a clamp to hold it in place and set the first two bolts in the frame once snug I finished assembly and then drilled the other holes. Not a big deal. Very happy with the construction and the thick powder cote.
Next the bumper!!

1985 Chevrolet C/K Series Pickup

I just got this hitch today in the mail, it's awesome! Extremely well built and sturdy and the etrailer box kept it safe no dings or dents even. On a regular Chevy truck it will fit perfectly and installation is very straightforward but I would recommend having a friend help hold it while you get two bolts started. I installed it on a 85 Chevy k30 m1008 military truck. On these trucks people have problems with the shackle mounts fitting with a hitch and this one is no different. Some modifications will be needed to the shackle mounts, or the shackle mounts can be removed.

1 year later and this hitch is everything I said it was in the first review. The powder coating is still in great shape although this truck does not see Ohios lovely salted winter roads.

1988 Ford F-250 Super Duty

This is a really nice, really heavy duty hitch. It also works with other brands of vehicles so if one wanted to could take it off before selling and reuse. (My truck is a 1988 F250) Installation was very straight forward, basically get a helper, hold hitch up to frame, mark bolt holes with pen or starter punch, and then drill consecutively larger holes till you get to 1/2 inch. Bolt up, torque, and you are off to the races. I did not remove the spare tire but wish I had. It made holding the top of the bolts very difficult. Save time and remove the spare tire as your first step.!

This hitch part # BWHDRH25122 is a custom fit for the 1988 F250. It it still a good idea to use the fit guide and make sure it will fit the next truck. It is not a custom fit for every vehicle.

This is the best hitch I have ever owned and it is made in the USA. I will only buy B&W hitches from now on.

I have been using this hitch for a year now and it is still the best hitch l have ever owned. I recently pulled a 6000 pound trailer from Oklahoma City to Houston with no problem. I am currently building a 1987 R10 and when l am done a B&W hitch is going on it.

  • 10k+ Hitch Recommendation for a 2000 Ford F-450 Cab and Chassis
The B and W Hitch # BWHDRH25122 is a confirmed fit for a Ford F-450 Cab and Chassis model that has a 34 inch frame and has a 16k capacity with the smallest amount of drop of the hitches available. I attached pictures that show how much drop it would provide. It would be right at 5 inches.

  • Would the B and W Hitch part # BWHDRH25122 Fit Truck with 34 inch Wide Trailer Frame
34 inch frame widths are pretty common cab and chassis trucks. The B and W Hitch part # BWHDRH25122 that you referenced is designed to fit cab and chassis trucks with a 34 inch width measured from outside to outside on trailer frames. If you measured your truck frame and it measures 34 inches from outside to outside the mounting brackets of the part # BWHDRH25122 would be positioned correctly. You most likely would need to drill holes in the frame to get the hitch to bolt up.

  • Are Trailer Hitches Certified and Documented for Weight Capacity
Trailer hitches and vehicles often have different ratings. The trailer hitch, # BWHDRH25122, itself is rated for 16,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 1,600 pounds tongue weight. But if the truck is rated lower, which it likely is, then you have to go by the lower rating. The truck owners manual should state what its towing capacity is. The trailer hitch meets the specifications for trailer hitches required by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and the US department of transportation....
