I received this hitch with some chips down to the metal. So I repaired these. Alll holes lined up except one. The hitch was bent 1/2 inch on one side. So with a steel rod, wood blocks, and a pump jack, I bent the hitch into place. All the extra work is why I gave this hitch a 3 star rating. I now have a 5 star hitch that works great with my Thule bike rack.

The biggest flaw was the bent hitch that I had to spend extra time and effort on to bend back into place. Like I said, after bending the hitch with a steel rod and wood blocks and a pump jack.... I now have a 5 star hitch.

Fit was perfect. Less than 30 minutes for install. Not visible under factory’s bumper. I might suggest the carriage bolt plates be slightly longer to prevent rotation during bolt tightening.

Here is how I ended up buying this hitch. In the spur of the moment I decided to buy a trailer (right place, right time, right price ) and all i had to hook it onto was the ball on the back bumper (rated at 500 lbs, which i found out later on) Needless to say, I pulled a 5000 lbs trailer hooked to the bumper. Yes, I know...not very smart...didn't know better.
Long story short... the bumper is a bit bent and I learned my lesson.

Here we are, bought the right hitch for the right trailer for the right situation. Live and learn.

It was delivered as stated (about 5... 6 days) and the package was heavy.
After i drove around with it for about another 2 weeks, i finally had time to install it.
I AM HAPPY. It is heavy, for a reason. It is sturdy and you feel it. I watched the video on the website for installation. It was very helpful, especially the trick to tape the washers to hold them in place. I did this in the parking lot and did not even jack up the van. I am skinny guy and usually I fit under any car. It is not easy to install it by yourself, yet not impossible.
It is hard to hold the hitch in place under the van, hold the back of the screws and put the nuts on and screw them at the same time, so i put one screw on one side and then another one across on the other side, after witch I put the rest of them in.
I must say the holes seemed to be to close together. I tightened one side an couldn't put the screws in on the other side. The holes could be moved apart another 1/16 in order to make the job easier (or maybe my van was just like that)
I screwed all the nuts little by little until they were all tightened up.

The price was right, high quality, feels sturdy. Happy with the purchase and will buy again and recommend it.
Time will tell how it holds.
Thank you Etrailer.

This hitch was extremely easy to install on my 2014 E-150 Passenger van. Propped on end up on a step stool and bolted on the other, and then bolted on the step stool side. Instructions were easy and, at least in my case, didn't require any drilling. The only hitch (pun intended) was my lack of a torque wrench, but my neighbor is a mechanic, so I borrowed his. It took about 45 minutes to install in the driveway.

I don't currently have a trailer, but I plan to use the 2" receiver for bike and cargo racks, and possibly a step. In any case, it's always good to have a hitch.

I recently purchased the Curt class 4 trailer hitch for my 2006 /E-350 van. I'm impressed with the ease of installation, and fit! With the help of a friend to lift it up into position it took about 10 min. Using the factory holes in the frame, and it fits perfectly around the spare tire.

by:

So far, so good, but I haven't pulled with it yet. My only gripe on install is that they give you two big washers to make up the space that a frame weld creates, but the washer is too skinny. They would need to send 4 washers of that same thickness to make up the space. I had two fat ones here, so I added a fat one to theirs on each side and it fit snug when I torqued it down. If I hadn't done that, all I would have had was a washer floating around between the frame and the hitch and it would have rattled. Otherwise, it was straight forward install. Fit and finish are fine.

by:
2012 Ford Van

Shipping was very quick. Opening the box, initial impression was that the finish was very high quality, no chips or nicks in the glossy paint. Instructions were straightforward, very simple. Installation took me, a very slow worker, about 30 minutes. I used a few pieces of wood on an overturned milk crate to support the hitch while I inserted the bolts and finger tightened the nuts. I wrenched them down tight, then used a torque wrench to tighten them further. Easy peazy.

by:

Item was exactly as described and took roughly 10 minutes to install including unpacking. I also ordered the necessary wiring and brake controller to complete the package and those were just as easy. The videos that are available are done very well and makes these projects go that much easier.

by:

I had two young boys install it 15 minutes or less all the brackets was perfectly lined up with the holes and also the wire harnesses install to. Thank u e trailer staff.

Easy installation! I paid for the cheap shipping (not the free one) just to make sure it was here before Christmas. Came within 3 days of ordering. No drilling required. Bolted on within minutes. I was astonished how easy it was. Made my dad very happy! Gave it to him as an early gift.

by:
2012 Ford Van

The overall quality of this product is excellent. I did have to apply a little elbow grease in the form of a wooden pry bar to get the holes to line up and the bolts to drop it, but other than that the installation went flawlessly on my 2012 E250 Van.

by:

Perfect fit even with a spare. Sticks out a little bit but probably not as much if your vehicle has a step bumper.

by:

Installation was easy. It took me less than 10 min. Now I need a cargo carrier that will hold a predator 9500 inverter generator. Specs are
Weigh 257 lbs, width 23.74in and lenght 31in. I will have to be able to remove generator often ( maybe a tilt or one with a ramp. ) since i will need to open rear van door often.
Please let me know what I can buy.
Thank you!

2011 Ford Van

I am very happy with the Curt hitch I bought for my 2011 E350 Ford Van. My hitch was shipped very quickly and was a snap to install. Wiring also was very easy snap together with the Curt harness wiring kit. Both are top quality as expected based on the reviews I read on Etrailer

I chose the Curt hitch over the Reese because it is MADE IN THE U.S.A. Apparently Reese and Draw-Tite are now made offshore. It used to be you could save money buying a product made in China, but not so anymore; The offshore "name brands" are both significantly more expensive. In my my opinion, I would much rather have a hitch welded by a guy in Wisconsin who would likely be pulling his own boat with one on the weekend than a kid in China making $2 a day that doesn't even know what he is building. And the only improvement I can think of on the Curt is that they should make the American flag logo bigger on the Curt sticker on the hitch. Curt is the new gold standard in my opinion!

After one year I still love this product. paint still looks like new after a Chicago winter. As good or better than the factory hitch on my old van.

by:

Fast shipping, confident purchase using the website regarding fitment. My go to for towing needs. Thanks

by:

Chris on the phone straightened out the shopping cart problems on the spot. He put the order thru and added my faster shipping payment. Order received in 2 business days (one day early after labor day weekend). The hitch is extremely well built by Curt mfg. sold by E trailer. Took me less than 30 minutes to install. Exact fit and a few videos on there websites to get familiar with the install. I used 2 stacks of the lego style rv levelers to prop it up under both sides of the frame. Then dropped in the bolts shoved it up and applied the nuts. A 3/4” socket and rachet wrench is all that is need. My van is a 2012 E350. Recommend Etrailer service and quality parts for everyone.

Super easy install. I used to jack-stands to hold hitch in place. Laid on back and secured fasteners.
Had to buy a torque wrench, went to HFT, did not realize etrailer.com carried them...woops!
I bought the higher rated hitch for higher tongue weight rating, to be safe for hitch-mounted accessories.
Great price, well packaged parcel, excellent experience!
Thank you.

2 inch receiver moves around too much in the hitch. Chain hook up is too big for some of the chains . I called etrailer and addressed my concerns they said there was nothing they could do to help me. I wanted a different hitch that was quieter and the chains would work.

Thank you for your feedback. I have a solution for both the movement and the chain hook size needed. To help with the movement I would recommend an anti rattle device like part # C27UR, part # e99007 or an anti rattle lock like part # 63232. A safety chain with a 916 hook with work with this hitch. We have the hook available it is part # C81288 and is rated for 5000 pounds.
