Prompt delivery. Good fit- seems to be good quality (welds, finish). I think it should come with speed nuts to hold the bolts in place- I made my own from thin plastic. If you push the bolts into the car’s frame member you’re in a world of hurt. Working underneath the car on ramps is a bit more difficult than if you’ve got it on a lift.

2016 Honda Fit

The best part of doing business with etrailer is, I know I will find what I need when I go to their website. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver fit the Fit. Installation on the 2016 Fit was a challenge, especially compared to installation of the equivalent hitch receiver I installed on a 2008 Honda Fit, which I also bought from etrailer. Instructions suggested that I could remove the exhaust system, as required on the 2016, without special tools. I needed to buy a special tool and even with the special tool I was challenged. All the necessary hardware was included and the installed hitch receiver meets all expectations. I also purchased a wiring harness for the trailer. Again, installation on the 2016 Fit was a challenge, especially compared to the installation of the equivalent wiring harness I installed on a 2008 Honda Fit, which I also bought from etrailer. The 2008 wiring harness is a "plug-and-play" installation with no cutting and no splicing. The 2016 wiring harness requires cutting and splicing and running additional wire. The wiring harness purchased and the instructions supplied enabled me to execute the work successfully. The installed wiring harness meets all expectations.
The installation challenges are because of the Fit, not the Curt products.

James,Thank you for your review. If you are looking for a wiring harness that does not require splicing into your existing wiring I recommend Item # 119250KIT
ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector and Installation Kit
. This Tekonsha wiring harness is not consider a plug and play application but the sensors on this wiring harness clamp onto your factory tail light wiring to detect current but you will still have to run the black power wire to the cars battery.

2016 Honda Fit

Thank God for y'alls video or else this venture would not have happened. I needed a tow hitch for my bike because the trunk mount I had was too sketchy. This product fit perfectly on my 2016 Honda Fit.

Little note: Curt's install video either didn't show or vehicle wasn't equipped like mine but I had a 3rd muffler mount further back. That was a doosy getting off. Didn't have a lot of room to screw in the nut above muffler so I had to take the rear passenger off to use the torque wrench. Other than that, I love it!!

Have had id it for a year. No complaints. Have only carried a bike rack until now, but it's working well. Arrived on time and was the right model. Had the mechanic install it, so I can't comment on ease of installation. They actually followed up and asked for this review, so bravo for following up and asking for real feedback a year after purchase.

2015 Honda Fit

After doing extensive research on what trailer hitch to purchase for my 2015 Honda Fit, I decided on the Curt C11406. It turns out to be an Excellent choice! I Love the Hitch. It was Super easy to install and only took me 30 min. I did it without having to lift up the back end of my car. - Layout a tarp, have tools ready and at hand, pulling the rubber muffler hanger should be spray with soapy water and can be push off the hanger easier (Use gloves if you have them/makes it easier to push off hanger) (Definitely use a torque wrench to ensure proper tightness of bolts.) I also purchased the Curt Rubber Tube Cover C22271. Etrailer has great deals with fast shipping. I highly Recommend. Will be doing business again. Thanks Etrailer!

2015 Ford Flex

Installed this on a 2015 Fit. It was the second hitch I've ever installed, and it was by far the easiest. Other than futzing with the muffler's rubber bushings, it was a piece of cake. It was fairly easy to remove the muffler from the bushings, but it was challenging to get the muffler reinstalled. I am sure it'd be easy with the proper tool or with a lift, but I had a tough time doing it lying under the car and with various hand tools. It is in a position where it's hard to get leverage.

I would estimate that it took me 40 minutes, start to finish. Much of that time was eaten up by getting he car jacked up and supported and screwing with the muffler. The actual install of the hitch took about 10 minutes. It was slightly awkward to do by myself, but I borrowed another reviewer's suggestion to use my jack to lift the hitch into place. No drilling was required, as promised.

Also I wanted to mention that while the manual says that you have to use a strap to support the hitch, it seems fine without it, at least with light loads. I've carried my bike on a hitch, and it does not seem to flex very much. I am not at all worried about it, although it might not be strong enough to support three or four bikes. I think it's a function of how this has to attach to the car. The upper and lower supports are separated vertically more than they are horizontally, so that's got to weaken the lateral support capability.

Easy installation. At least the 3rd hitch we're ordered and all have been excellent. Highly recommended!

I watched the video 3 times and found the hitch easy to put on once I got my dad to manhandle the exhaust clips. Small hitch for a small car. Looks good.

Has performed great for us. Only use it to support a bicycle mount but it is very stable and secure. Especially like the angle that it lowers at to allow the hatch back door of the 2018 Honda FIT to open completely. That was not the case with our previous hitch/2010 Honda FIT combination.

This hitch and collar is working great on our Honda Fit. We did have it installed by a mechanic because we didn't have the tools to do it ourselves. Now, we can bring our bikes with us on trips and other outings.

Excellent product. The hitch, 5" adapter, cargo carrier. Easy to put together, all the parts were there. Very fast delivery. Kudos to Lisa and E. Trailer for above and beyond products and service. I have a small car and it was packed when I went camping alone. Now daughter and I are doing a 3 week trip in June. More stuff.

2015 Honda Fit

Easy to fallow instructions, great design, and as always great customer service from etrailer. One thing I recomend is to google how to remove the rubber muffler isolator before you start the installation and you'll save some time.

Well planned fitting. The box is good for lying on. One hour from UPS delivery to fitted without lifting the car.I think the trickiest part is removing the wires before threading the nuts on.

2016 Honda Fit

100% satisfied. Great customer service, fast shipping. Great product. The prices are unbeatable. I won't buy from anyone else.

It has been nothing but great. Thank you for taking time to follow up with me. I appreciate it.

2019 Honda Fit

Great product, super easy to install everything fits great even on the muffler side. Took the muffler off is the hardest part of the installation

Just follow the instructions and it’s a simple job

2015 Honda Fit

I bought this Curt hitch for my move from ohio to oklahoma since it was cheaper then driving a truck and then tow my car. The instillation was fast once I got everything situated since I did not have access to a lift. Thank goodness I’m a small women. Took me about an hour to finish the install but that includes the prep time.

Awesome option for the Honda Fit since there aren't many ways to mount a bike.
Super easy to install also! I have been using mine for over a year with no issues.
Great product for the price.

Product installed very easily and only took maybe 20 minutes, hardest part was undoing the rubber exhaust hangers.

2017 Honda Fit

My son helped put this together on my car. Pretty much a cakewalk if you have the right tools and a bit of strength.

I am so glad I got this hitch for my 2018 Honda Fit. I put my bike carrier on it and go places!

The hitch went on without a hitch. I was especially impressed by the spring things that made it so much easier to slip the bolts into place.

I am quick to call out low quality when I see it. This is a great product, I recommend it.

Still working out just fine. I use it for my bike carrier all the time. One of the best things I ever bought!
Elvis - 05/19/2021

The hitch was delivered promptly, in perfect condition and it fits my 2020 Honda Fit perfectly. It is very unobtrusive, as etrailer's installation videos show. I use it for a relatively light weight bike rack.

2018 Honda Fit

I have used etrailer for almost all of my car's trailer needs. The website is easy to navigate, along with the review section being valuable. The review section convinced to to stick with Curt rather than use the other available one due to a common modification a few folks mentioned about using the other one. Here's my notes regarding the hitch installation:

1. I use an inexpensive transmission jack to help me install my hitches. This allows one to dry fit the hitch, confirm which holes the fasteners need to be, and allows one to pass the wire through the holes in the hitch before attaching the nuts. It also allows one to hand tighten all three sides, which was useful due to my second note.

2. On the driver's side, there's a plastic fastener that comes very close to the hitch. By having the hitch loosely dry fitted in place, I managed to wiggle it a hair in order to clear this fastener. Otherwise, either 1. This fastener may have gotten damaged, or 2. The hitch may have ended up not flushed to the frame had that offending plastic fastener prevented the hitch from being fully seated against the frame.

3. Not hitch related, but wiring related: The Curt wiring kit want one to run a power lead from the battery all the way back to the trunk. Instead, I purchased piggy-back fuse holders which allows one to either tap and piggy back off an existing circuit or if, as is the case for my 2018 Honda Fit, simply employ a totally unused, switched +12V fuse. I am planning on using Fuse #2, which is located in the fuse box inside the car left of the steering wheel. Fuse #2 is the first column, second position down. This fuse box has 42 fuses, 6 columns, each with 7 fuses. Fuses 1-7 are in left most column, closest to the driver's door, followed by fuses 8-14, and finally to fuses 36-42. There's also a handy map attached to the steering wheel lower cover, which is easy to see after taking a quick pic of it from a phone.

Note: Now with hitch installed, as with all of my hitch equpped cars, one now gains an easy jack point useful for lifting up the rear of the car.

My Curt hitch is holding up well. My only complaint is that the hitchs clearances are such that its more difficult to and remove the hitch pin clip compared to the many other hitches Ive worked with, including other Curt hitches. No longer can I use my foot to seat the clip pin, as the side clearance of the hitch prevents one from being able to do this.

Navigating website to find the item I wanted was easy and foolproof. The item was delivered quickly and was packaged well. All parts were present. Printed instructions were included and easy to follow. Item was excellent quality.

The hitch has been working well. No problems whatsoever. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Excellent hitch! I had it installed by a local company and we've been very happy with it's performance. We use it to attach our bike rack and it works beautifully. Thank you!

  • Will The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver C11406 Block the Rear Tow Point On A 2015 Honda Fit
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11406 while installed on your 2015 Honda Fit will cover the rear tow point. However, it will also replace it with a much sturdier and easy to use option. The tow points for the rear of your Honda Fit will now be on the safety chain loops beneath the receiver tube opening on the hitch. The tow point is now moved further away from the vehicle so less chance of damage to the rear bumper from a tow rope or strap can occur. The tow point is much stronger...

  • Which is Better for 2019 Honda Fit Curt Trailer Hitch or Draw Tite Trailer Hitch
The Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24920 is a better hitch for your 2019 Honda Fit than the Curt Trailer Hitch # C11406. While the hitches are very similar in a lot of ways, the Draw-Tite has just slightly better bumper clearance, and in my experience the Draw-Tite brand has been a higher quality and is the direction I recommend going. I have added links to video installs as well as the written instructions for you to take a look at as well.

  • Recommended Hitch for 2019 Honda Fit- Curt or Draw-Tite?
When it comes to choosing between the Draw-Tite # 24920 and the Curt # C11406, what sets these two hitches apart for me is that the Draw-Tite has approximately 3" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the bumper where the Curt only has about 1/2". For this reason, I recommend going with the Draw-Tite # 24920; it's recessed far enough that it's out of the way but is still going to allow you plenty of room to use a hitch mounted bike rack.

  • Comparing Draw Tite and Curt Hitch for 2019 Honda Fit
For your 2019 Honda Fit I recommend the Curt hitch part # C11406 over the Draw Tite # 24920 for a few reasons. The Curt has a shorter install time, is made in the USA, and according to our installers the Curt hitches have a bit tighter quality control so the hitch will most likely fit better than the Draw Tite. I attached a picture of what the hitch looks like installed as well as a link to an install video for the hitch for you to check out as well.

  • Which is Better Curt or Draw Tite Hitch for 2017 Honda Fit
Both the Draw Tite hitch part # 24920 and the Curt part # C11406 are great hitch options for your 2017 Honda Fit. The only real difference that you'd notice between the two is how far the hitch sticks out relative to the rear bumper. The Draw Tite has 3 inches from the pin hole of the hitch to the outside of the bumper and the Curt Has 1/2 inch so it would stick out a bit more. If it was my choice I would go with the Draw Tite since the hitch will be recessed enough that it's out of the...

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11406 may also require that the exhaust hanger on your 2017 Honda Fit to be bent as this is noted in the manufacturers instructions that I have linked below.
