Perfect for light-duty towing, this custom, vehicle trailer hitch receiver features fully welded, gloss powder coated steel construction. Drawbar sold separately.Worst trailer hitch I’ve ever seen. Terrible quality. There no support for the actual hitch part. My bike rack with two bikes on it bounced so much it almost came free on the highway. Will be upgrading to something much sturdier
Great quality hitch. However, this will NOT be an easy job!! Prepare yourself! Don’t be fooled by the other reviews. The Focus RS does not want to have a hitch installed on it, lol. I am a mechanically competent person who has installed hitches on other cars, including a Honda Accord, Subaru Forester, Honda Fit, and Ford Fiesta ST. Those vehicles accept a hitch much better than the RS, which is to be expected. There’s just so much magical mechanical wizardry stuffed into the rear of the RS that you can’t attach the hitch like in those cars. Additionally, I do most of my own car and motorcycle maintenance. I put new struts, ball joints and outer tie rods on my Subaru prior to this project, so I’m well versed in mild mechanical endeavors.
The biggest issue I came upon was the rear bumper bar alignment post removal. The bar must have been forced on at the factory, or the car just settled as it broke in, because once the bumper bar came off, which required some serious prying, it wasn’t going back on. I had to do some serious amateur machining to facilitate the bar going back on the car. Perhaps your rear bumper bar will behave better than mine, and in that case the install will be much easier, but it’s still not going to be a walk in the park. I’d allow yourself at minimum 3 post work evenings, and more if your bumper bar causes the same issues. I spent 5 evenings doing the hitch and light wiring, which is a pain as well, so take that into account. Once it’s on it’s a great hitch though, just towed my dirt bike 14 hours round trip to Washington and back a few weeks ago on its maiden voyage.
The installation was right on, thanks to instructions. Very happy with the product, highly recommended hitch (2017 Focus RS). The customer service was spot on.
Perfect fit and high quality finish and build. Tucks up nicely under the back of the car and sits no lower than my exhaust. I'm just using it for a bike rack but would definitely recommend.
Fits solidly and did not require extensive modification.
Receiver hitch is well constructed fits my 2017 focus RS perfecty. Instructions are very clear. Most difficult part was cutting the valance I used a multimax tool.
Excellent hitch. Easy to install with detailed instructions. Perfect fit for my 2017 Focus RS.
