The price was great and the how-to videos are of great assistance. Everything went on fairly easily (though getting the rubber muffler supports off of their brackets is a bugger!). The shipping was fast. When I need another hitch I'll be getting my third one from etrailer.

Ginger, thank you so much for your review! I hope everyone is ok! Just a quick note ? when your vehicle has been involved in an accident, the manufacturer recommends that you replace the hitch or hitch accessory due to potential unseen damage resulting from the collision.

2019 Kia Sedona

Installed on a 2019 Kia Sedona. I was very happy with etrailer.com. There was so much information on their website it gave me the inspiration to install the hitch myself (and save $200). Did it take more than the estimated time? Yes, but i expected it to. Here is what I learned.
1. There are many videos out there, look at the ones for your car...you may learn a different trick.
2. I did not raise the car with jacks or ramps. In hindsight that would have given me more leverage on removing the exhaust bracket and tighten the bolts.
3. I only removed the back bracelet on the exhaust. Removing more would have given me more room to torque the bolts.
4. I ended up cutting the cover plate (that the instructions said to throw away) and re-installed it. Looks really nice. See picture.

Would definitely use etrailer.com in the future

Opened the box and there are no instructions or mounting hardware???
The are at least two considerable scrapes on the tubing that shows when mounted.
This is the 2nd item I’ve ordered this month that was damaged.
Needed this immediately-taking daughter to college this week!

Box arrived in great shape, hitch looked
perfect. Install went exactly as shown in the video etrailer has posted. Everything aligned perfectly with factory mounting holes, and I was able to pretty easily install this by myself. I did use a couple wood blocks to hold the weight on the muffler side while I initially threaded the bolts, but probably could have done it even without the blocks, as the muffler itself can bear the weight. The only hiccup I had was that the uncovered mounting holes on the muffler side were extremely dirty and gummed up with road grime. It took a lot of penetrating oil and wire brushing to get those 3 holes clean enough for the bolts to thread cleanly. And I used some snips to cut a notch in the undercarriage guard panel that I had to remove during install, which then allowed for it to easily be reinstalled, no need to leave it off.

by:

Fit exactly as advertised, the video on the etrailer web page was very informative, especially how to support the exhaust system when lowering it. Only suggestion - The protective panel on the driver side can be reinstalled by simply cutting a 3/8" wide by 8" long slit to accommodate the support flange on the hitch. All the snap connectors can be reinstalled providing the protection the panel was designed for. Please see the attached picture after the hitch was installed.

I received my receiver hitch and the wiring promptly. However, the box that the hitch came in was damaged so badly that it was torn open on two sides and taped back together again. This was obviously done by UPS. They handled the package so poorly that the paint on the hitch and one of the stickers was scratched and rubbed badly enough to need touch-up paint to get it looking like it should. I accepted the package from UPS only because all of the contents were present. This was thanks to etrailer.com taping the hardware and the wiring securely to the hitch. Thank you etrailer.com for that. BTW, I would have given etrailer.com 5 stars except for the packaging. Although I cannot make a suggestion on how it could have been packaged differently to prevent the paint damage, I feel that etrailer.com bears some responsibility for their choice of shipping carrier or at least for the durability of the packing material used.

I must say that the hitch is high quality and constructed very well. The mounting bolts are appropriate hardware grade and of obvious high quality also. I have not installed the hitch or the wiring yet so I cannot comment on fit or ease of installation. I plan to install it when I can get the car to the hobby shop where I can get some hoist time. However, from the looks of everything I should not encounter any problems. I can say this with some confidence because I have ordered stuff from etrailer.com in the past and I have never encountered any problems. Other than the packaging problem noted above, I am very happy with how quickly the hitch got to me and most especially for the follow-up confirmation and status emails from etrailer.com.

Great hitch, easy to install, and everything was exactly as described on etrailer.com Exactly was we needed for our Sedona van.

by:

The hitch was a great price. It was the same price as the one on[line] and also brought the mounting hardware which can cost $xx purchased separately. They also included an installation video which made it easy enough for me and my 12 year old son to install.

We have had the hitch installed for a year and it’s held up great. We have only used it once for a road trip to Georgia for our luggage carrier and it worked great. We haven’t really used it since but I find myself standing on it from time to time just to see how sturdy it is and it never gives at all

2016 Kia Sedona

I purchased this hitch last year for my 2016 Kia Sedona and haven't regretted the decision one bit. We were taking bikes to the beach the same week using a Thule Vertex 5-bike rack so my timeline was compressed. Shipping was prompt and the install was relatively easy. The videos etrailer posts for the installation made it even easier. I've used the hitch not only for the bike rack (quite frequently) but also to tow an enclosed trailer (needed the additional wiring harness kit which I ordered later). No problems either time. I've been really pleased with the hitch and would recommend it to anyone.

by:
2016 Kia Sedona

This Curt Trailer hitch is an exact fit for my 2016 Kia Sedona! Very strong construction and great looking welds. By far, the easiest hitch I've installed. You will need a second person if the vehicle is on a lift (help align the bolt holes and start the bolts). I had the exhaust hanging down, splash shield removed and the hitch bolted up in place is exactly 18 min! I'm a mechanic by trade so keep in mind I have all the specialty tools for the exhaust rubbers, plus all the air powered impacts tools to speed up the process. Average person with hand tools can easily have the hitch installed and wired in 1hr. Hope this review helps someone out.

Shipping went well, The installation was pretty easy, watching the videos helped. Wish it had a mount for the trailer plug in. After isntallation and wiring we pulled a tent trailer on a 5,000 mile journey, it worked great no issues.

I have had this hitch installed for over a year, used it a few times and it works great. I performed the installation myself and it was fairly easy. 2016 Kia Sedona LX

The hitch has a little sign of rust on the inside receiver but that is expected with harsh Canadian winters. A hitch cover could possibly prevent this...but it does not bother me.

Happy with the hitch, excellent customer service from etrailer.com

Bolted right up. The only trick to this installation is to support the exhaust pipe just passed the muffler with a ratchet strap. Lubricate the exhaust pipe hangers. I used regular sae 30 motor oil. I think there is 4 or 5 of them. Use a screwdriver or small crowbar to pop them off. The tailpipe will drop down enough to gain access to the threaded holes in the bumper. It helps to have an extra set of hands but you could do it yourself with a jack. It bolted right up. I also got the wiring harness and it was a snap. I trimmed the driver side splash guard to fit around the hitch and it looks fantastic. Also, I got the part to attach the flat 4-pin connector. Works great. I used it the next morning and everything worked like a champ. Thanks!

by:

Using this hitch for 2 1/2 years now, it works well. We regularly haul bikes and occasionally a small trailer. The hitch is solid and works.

My one issue is some rust. That always seems to be a hitch issue, but is happening with this one too.

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring Harness Recommendation for 2015 Kia Sedona
We offer a replacement 4-pole flat trailer wiring harness for the 2015 Kia Sedona that has the factory tow package connectors. Curt harness # C56256 plugs in behind the underbody panel on the rear driver's-side corner as shown in the linked video. You will make two plug-in connections at this OEM wiring, install the supplied 10-amp fuse and mount the converter box using the included double-sided tape. The two available trailer hitches for your 2018 Kia Sedona, the Curt # C13115 and the Draw-Tite # 75894, are indeed extremely similar.
