This fully welded trailer hitch receiver bolts onto your vehicle's frame with no welding required. Powder coated steel is sturdy and corrosion resistant.Great experience with etrailer. Best price I found on a hitch also. Delivered fast and though box had a few holes the hitch was intact and bolts were well packaged and taped securely. Decided to install myself after watching their video - no problem at all. Video was spot on and everything went pretty smoothly, the hardest part for a novice was removing the appearance panels with the little plastic clips. I attempted install without lowering exhaust as instructed and it worked out fine with a simple ratchet extension; since I was alone I used a few boards stacked up ( and screwed together for safety) to rest the hitch on, then simply tipped up one side at a time to get the bolts started. Took me about an hour overall, but would be less with right angle power ratchet as seen in video. Thanks etrailer!
The box was ripped everywhere. The hitch was dented and scratched everywhere. Now I'm going to have to go buy paint to touch up all the spots to prevent rust. If I wanted a damaged hitch I would have bought a used one online. I have no time to return and wait for a replacement, which will probably be damaged as well, or wait for a refund. Wanted to upload all the photos, but if course will only allow one and the upload is taking forever. I guess I should have went to [another store] and just paid the extra 10 bucks, and picked one up in person.
The box showed up with several large holes it The Hitch did not appear to be packed well to start with resulting in the paint getting scratched up. Then the mounting holes did not line up. Finally got 4 of the 5 bolts in. The hitch is not centered presently off by 1/4" to 1/2' to the right Will need to grind out the several holes to get it squared up and all 5 bolts in. Not a happy camper so far. I have yet to start the wiring Hope it is not as frustrating as the hitch itself. The video seemed so straight forward . I have photos of the packaging if needed just not sure how to attach.
Love the hitch but it was a little painful to install. It's not eTrailer's fault. When bolting up the trailer one of the bolts would not line up. The holeI was off by 1/32 of an inch. No matter how you arranged the five bolts it would always be one on the four corners of the hitch that would not line up properly. After 2 hours I finally got it installed. Added a Thule Trailways 959 Bike Rack to the mix and I love it even more! Next is to install the wire harness for a trailer. FYI you can reinstall the 2 panels you take off for installation. The passenger side goes on just fine and you have to trim off small section to get the drivers side panel back on. Just trial fit it, mark it, cut, and reinstall. Helps to keep the dirt out too.
My name is Michael and I work as a parts and accessories advisor for Moyer Nissan in Wernersville PA. I order the hitches for my customers so I can not give any reviews for the products I purchase from your company. I can say that my experiences dealing with etrailer.com has always been excellent. Keep up the good work!
Absolutely amazed and pleased with etrailer! In the world where the past 20 + years customer service Was sacrificed on the altar of competing for the big box brick or Online cheapest product. etrailer has great pricing and products but more importantly the product knowledge, comparison listing, specific detail videos and photos, timely shipping and detailed instructions specific to the vehicle shows to great lengths and effort “they chose” to become the best at what they do. The moral of the story “you don’t have to cancel customer service and excellence to bring pricing and availability to the client”... meaning everybody else is just lazy!. Thank you! 2018 Nissan Rogue: everything went perfectly as directed including the Curt harness. I did choose my own modification as pictured : pic: I removed the driver side rear trim as instructed. But I trimmed the plastic, cutting a straight line to the back and along edge so It now clears the hitch bracket, and easily reinstalled it.
Came exactly as advertised and in the time frame they presented. Was a simple process that got me everything I needed, I also used Curts [video] to help with the install and did it in the [auto store] parking lot using their tool borrow (I didn't have a torque wrench).
I ordered this hitch for my wife’s car. I watched the install videos and ordered it. I love the service from these guys! During the process, each person that handled it was named with a pic and I got updates until it was on my doorstep! Great service! I bolted it right on and it looks great! I also bought the wire harness. Great thing is, this isn’t a shin killer! Tucked up under the car nice but easy to get to.
Everything went as advertised and per the directions provided and not difficult. Would recommend to anyone that needs a hitch.
Excellent quality and service! I needed the hitch receiver for a bike rack. I installed it myself with the easy-to-follow instructions. My first time ordering from eTrailer, certainly not the last!
Great product. Perfect fit for my 2015 Rogue SL. Easy to put on, I did it myself in less than 30 mins. Also installed the Curt wiring kit which went in easily. I haven't used the hutch to pull anything but wanted one in case I did. Would highly recommend etrailer for the hitch. It was the best price I found online. Great customer service too.
This order came in promptly and fit the vehicle attach points. The hitch is solid built and appears to have a good paint job. It took me about 30 minutes to install. The manufacturer's instructions specified 86 ft-lbs of torque on the bolts which was hard to get with my torque wrench which has a 19 inch handle (not enough length for me). There were two bolts on each side vs four on the Nissan factory hitch (which is offered only as an inch and a quarter receiver size. This made me a little nervous about the capacity of the hitch since the bolts were the same diameter on the Curtis hitch but half as many. The side mounting plates on the Nissan hitch were not present on the Curtis which, by design take a lot of the torsional load in a braking situation. The photos show the Nissan hitch which you can compare to the Curtis product photo to see the difference. I am going to use this hitch but only plan to have light loads on it so expect it will be strong enough for that.
Great product, great exact video explaining instructions for installation. Bought for new bike rack.
The trailer hitch was so some to install. I was amazed. I did the install alone and had no issues. Great purchase..
As a recent arrival to the US I discovered tow hitches are not at all the same as they are in the UK! The etrailer website made it really easy to find what I needed for my Nissan Rogue and it arrived by courier in just a couple of days. The hitch receiver and electrical hook up were straight forward to fit to the car. I didn't need to drop the exhaust as indicated in the instructions as it can be raised into position on the driver's side and held in place by the 3 partially-fitted bolts before raising the passenger side to do the same and then tightening all 5 bolts. The instructions also suggest removing the plastic covers to the rear of the wheels and not refitting then but since they are there to protect the underside of the vehicle, I put them back. The drivers side cover does need to be modified though as per my pictures. All in all a much easier job than I was anticipating and a good sturdy set of products. Very happy with this purchase.
Outstanding customer service and the products hitch and bike rack are great. It is installed and in use. The delivery was within one day and that was fantastic. I love it! Now to shed the COVID-19 pounds.
I originally purchased a Reese hitch a couple weeks ago from a certain amazonian retailer everyone knows. That hitch arrived very poorly packaged and the box had several holes where the hitch tore through. But the hitch looked okay other than some scrapes and I thought it would be pretty bullet-proof, so I tried to install it. Unfortunately, the bolt holes did not line up with the weld nuts on my car and it became obvious the hitch was bent. The seller was good about my returning it and I got a quick refund. I still needed a hitch, however. By then I saw some of the installation videos etrailer has on youtube and was impressed. I also read a lot of good reviews, including some that said they do a better job of packaging for shipment. So I ordered a different hitch, this Curt C13204, from etrailer and it arrived about five days later. The box arrived with one small hole in it. I found that etrailer's packaging didn't look much different from Amazon's, but it had one very effective difference. The etrailer box had a kind of cardboard brace stapled to each arm of the hitch to keep it from moving around. Unfortunately, whoever packaged my hitch didn't line up the staples right on one side of the hitch, so that side wasn't properly braced and did punch through the box a bit. Still, the etrailer box arrived in MUCH better shape than Amazon's. This time I measured the distance between the bolt holes before trying to install it and they looked pretty consistent. I'm happy to report that the hitch went on my car "without a hitch." The bolt holes lined up with the weld nuts on my Nissan Rogue nearly perfectly and I had no trouble. One tip I have for other Rogue owners is that when replacing the Rogue's plastic underbody panels, remember to expand the plastic pins before trying to reinstall them (they work kind of like moly screws). They fit right in very easily when you do this. Otherwise they don't want to go in. I wasted some time on this before remembering how they work -- duh! Many people say that they had to cut a piece of the driver side panel to replace it, but I was able to fit it in. It's in pretty tight against the hitch on that side, bit it seems very solid. Bottom line is that I am pleased with my experience with etrailer and the Curt hitch looks rock solid on my Rogue. Can't wait to use it with my bike rack this weekend. I give etrailer 4 stars because I think the packaging for shipment could still be a bit better.
I needed a hitch on my 2017 Nissan Rogue to pull a small trailer and utilize a bike carrier I already own. I priced 3 different places for a hitch install prior to my order. I did a little research and saw how easy it was to do the install myself. You can do the math, but I saved 68%. I placed my order July 1st. It was in my doorstep July 3rd. I installed the hitch in about 30 minutes. I used my .410 bore brush and some WD40 to clean the threads on the frame of the vehicle. The holes lined up and the hitch fit perfectly. I’m not a mechanical guy. If I can do it, so can you. I highly recommend this hitch and etrailer.
I use it exclusively for hauling a bike rack and for a trailer rack for carrying a cooler. Definitely has done a great job and was easy to install.
Etrailer.com's customer service was very helpful in getting the right product and related wiring accessories. It was carefully packaged and shipped promptly.
Perfect fit for my 2018 Nissan Rogue. It was a bit hard to figure out how to tighten but once we figured it out, it works great. Also easy to take on and off since I only keep it on when I’m carrying the bikes.
(2012 Rogue) After about 45 minutes of prep work the hitch was mounted in place in about 15 minutes (including time to torque all 5 bolts). With an extra set of hands there was no need to drop the exhaust - easy to get around the tailpipe. Also, no issues with alignment of holes.
Awesome and thank you so much! Here is my review of the trailer hitch: Needed a hitch for my 'new to me' 2015 NISSAN Rogue. Fairly easy self-install using wood blocks to support hitch weight. Hardest part was plastic trim fastener plugs near the rear axle because it's hard to see when you are on the ground. Took 2 hours which included a 1 hour trip to Lowes because I realized I didn't have the right size sockets. D'oh! The hitch is rock solid and perfect for my RockyMounts Backstage. My 3rd time purchasing from etrailer - great install & research videos. Bonus was the price went down $xx.xx three weeks after I ordered it. I called and they refunded the difference. That's why I choose etrailer.com -Wow!
I am amazed with the fact the installation of the hitch took me 20 minutes.thank you for an amazing product . La installation de este producto fue muy facil me tarde 20 minutos. Para mi nissan Rouge 2018.
Pretty easy to install, just I needed. No complaints, good quality and the price super good!
