This fully welded trailer hitch receiver bolts onto your vehicle's frame with no welding required. Powder coated steel is sturdy and corrosion resistant.Outside of some slight scuffs from ups everything went well. It was a pain to install the bolts on the passenger size because of Toyotas design, but not a fault of the hitch. Overall with the lift and a transmission jack it took me ~15 minutes. Recommend definitely
PACKAGING/DELIVERY: Like most others, the packaging was damaged during delivery, but the hitch was fine and the attachment hardware was securely fastened to the hitch so all parts where included.
INSTALLATION: The videos helped along with people's posts. The right (passenger) side IS a tight fit. I ordered the 19mm crow foot by Tekton off Amazon and ended up returning it because the it bent and actually rounded one of the corners on two bolts; 80+ foot-pounds of torque is a lot, I never did get my torque wrench to that because it would round the corners before it made the torque. Would be a nice addition if etrailer offered a quality part for that. Installation DEFINITELY goes smoother with two people.
FIT: You do have to work it into position, but once you get it there, it fits nicely, just like the videos. We haven't used it yet, still need to get the right receiver and ball.
Receiver hitch was packaged well. Box held up during shipping.

The hitch was easy to install. I deliberately got the hitch that didnt require me to cut my rear bumper cover. After having in on for a year, I can say Id rather have the hitch that is higher in the bumper requiring me to cut it. with any significant weight in the rear of the car, the hitch is quite close to the ground around 4.8. This is not a quality issue, nor a problem with etrailer. It the hitch I picked when considering ease of install, price.
First, reaching the West Coast only took a week, which is not bad for 40 lbs of metal. I had issues with packing as I was worried there might be damage considering the rack was popping out of the box (see image). I contacted etrailer.com, and the response was quick. They told me it was normal, but if anything was missing, to contact them. I took everything out as it looked fine. The mounting was effortless, with four bolts into the frame, and presto! Overall great customer service, and if I need any other hitches, I know I'm sticking to etrailer
The installation went well. Your online videos were very helpful. Super disappointed with the shipping container/ packaging. All the staples had pulled out of the box and someone poorly taped it together. My new trailer hitch has many gouges and scratches. Not trilled !

Overall I’ve been happy with the trailer hitch receiver. There is some rusting, but not thing major. I do wish that it ended up a bit higher up off the ground to prevent the cargo carrier I’m using with it from scraping on fairly minor dips, but that’s more of a limitation of the RAV4 being lower to the ground. Would recommend getting a cargo carrier with a rise shank (63153) or adding a high-low adapter (but this probably risks more rattle).
Very easy to install. The video walks you through every step. Also not having to cut the bumper of a two day old 2023 Rav-4 hybrid is a big plus. Would highly recommend this hitch
This premade hitch was a perfect fit and I was able to install it in less than an hour by myself using preexisting holes in the frame of my 2020 Toyota RAV4. I used a pile of bricks to temporarily hold the hitch in place to start the screws but could just as easily used a small floor jack.
My usage is a little off the reservation: as a mount for a large mobile ham radio antenna. I had found the metal in the vehicle body was too thin to support highway wind loads resulting in stress cracking. Using an MFJ receiver hitch antenna mount solved this problem and it is very easy to remove the antenna when the vehicle goes to the shop for maintenance.

Installed hitch myself in a little over an hour at ground level with the help of a couple paint cans and a think roll of painters tape to hold it in position while starting bolts. Wiring harness took longer to carefully route wiring behind panels and under car to hitch.
Good sale, good company, good product. I would recommend them. Relatively easy installation, torque wrench needed. Prompt delivery.

Installed on 2022 XSE Hybrid in about 45 minutes with two people. As others have stated, two notable things were box damaged in shipping and passenger side being much tighter. The rack was not damaged despite the torn box. A rubber mallet came in handy to make fine adjustments at the end of installation, a thin 3/4" wrench, and a petite pair of hands for the passenger side specifically. We were able to slide under the car and do everything without jacking it up. The kick sensor does seem to be disabled now regardless of what angle I try. It looks really good though and feels solid, good purchase overall and super quick shipping from etrailer.
I always check first to make sure that Curt makes whatever it is that I want for towing. They have excellent quality and customer service. This was a breeze to install and has functioned flawlessly. We just bought another vehicle, and the first thing I did was get another of these hitch receivers.
This hitch was installed on a 2021 Toyota Rav4. It is solidly constructed. Installation was simple and the etrailer videos were very helpful in the installation process. We did need two people as the hitch is heavy and cumbersome but the install was done without jacking up the car. The passenger side was a very tight working space so we inserted the bolts and mounted the hitch on drivers side first. Then we placed the car jack under the hitch to lift into place for bolting the passenger side. The jack was needed for a bit more lifting power than we could muster by hand to line up the bolt holes. The hitch fit perfectly onto the car. The entire process took about an hour.

The hitch is great. Sturdy and solidly built. It has held up well and survived a rear end collision while the bike rack was installed. The rack took the brunt of the forces but the hitch was not damaged. I still highly recommend the hitch
Product hitch was delivered at our destination adventure start on time as per delivery tracking. . The hitch install onto the 2019 RAV4 was spot on to the instructions provided with supporting online videos. Looks great and works great with our One-Up bike carrier.

The Curt trailer hitch and cover for the 2019 RAV4 has been great. Often being used for the on & off 1up bike rack. Have not used hitch for towing since the install, wiring and move across country with small uHaul trailer. As my earlier review the DIY install was easy and straight forward. the online provided videos where a plus to prepare and follow along using mobile device

Rock solid! No issues after a year, looks good too!
Box that arrived said #13416 (about $40 less) which fit my 2021 RAV4 Prime fine. There was a shipping bracket that had to be removed to make it fit. Bolts on right side were very difficult to get started from my position lying on my back. Only concern is that it hangs a bit lower than the OEM hitch. Gotta be careful crossing dips.

Other than the minor installation issues, the product has performed fine. Mainly use it to haul two large electric bikes in a rack. Due to how low it sits, it has scraped the pavement once while loaded up, but works great for travel on maybe 99 of roads.
This hitch fit the RAV4 perfectly! Well built and nicely finished. Installed exactly like the etrailer instructional video showed. That was very helpful, especially the tip on the claw foot. A must have to thighten the passenger side bolts. As always etrailer gets an A+ for service, shipping and follow up.

Weve had the hitch for a year now and use it extensively for a Kuat bicycle rack. Still extremely pleased with it, have recommended it to other RAV4 owners.

This was a breeze to install and eTrailer's installation instruction video was really clear and helpful.
Seems to be a solid hitch. It is definitely a tight install on the passenger side of a Toyota RAV4. Would be better if the bolts were a half-inch shorter for the passenger side so the installer is able to push on the head of the bolt while trying to get it started in the threaded hole. For anyone installing on a RAV4 (or probably any vehicle): Be sure to test the bolts in each hole before you start the install. Sometimes the threaded openings have a little overspray of the coating, and it's difficult to get the bolt started. We had that problem with one of the four holes. After messing around 2+ hours trying to get that last bolt installed, we took the other 3 bolts out, pulled down the hitch, and tried to screw the bolt into that hole. It wouldn't get started until I used a wrench to slowly turn it as I held the bolt in place. Once I got the bolt in, then out, we raised the hitch and installed it for the 2nd time. This time we were able to get that last bolt threaded into the hole. Shouldn't normally take you more than 30 minutes to install this hitch.
We added this to our Rav-4 to be able to mount a bike rack. It has worked perfectly.
The installation was as described, however, getting those fine threaded bolts to align in a very tight space was a challenge. Having two sets of hands definitely a plus. That said, the quality and finish of the hitch was very good. Looks great and appears to be quite sturdy.
I thought it was supposed to come with a wiring harness? There were several holes in the box. Did it fall out or did it not come with one?

I have looked into your order and no, this hitch does not come with a wiring harness included. I also see that there was no harness in your order. I do have a wiring harness that is available, part # C56434. This harness will allow you to quickly and easily install a 4-way trailer connector on your vehicle with this custom harness. T-connector plugs directly into existing wiring. Powered converter reduces strain on wiring system and is made using SMT to ensure superior performance. I would recommend calling into our customer service department for them to get this harness ordered and shipped out to you right away. I do apologize for any confusion on our end.

No issues thus far. I went in a few weeks back at service time and retorqued the bolts. All were exactly as I left them. I will say that it does hang a little low and I have hit it on extreme offs once or twice, but nothing outside of a scratch or two.
