Powder coated steel is sturdy and corrosion resistant.PACKAGING/DELIVERY: Like most others, the packaging was damaged during delivery, but the hitch was fine and the attachment hardware was securely fastened to the hitch so all parts where included.
INSTALLATION: The videos helped along with people's posts. The right (passenger) side IS a tight fit. I ordered the 19mm crow foot by Tekton off Amazon and ended up returning it because the it bent and actually rounded one of the corners on two bolts; 80+ foot-pounds of torque is a lot, I never did get my torque wrench to that because it would round the corners before it made the torque. Would be a nice addition if etrailer offered a quality part for that. Installation DEFINITELY goes smoother with two people.
FIT: You do have to work it into position, but once you get it there, it fits nicely, just like the videos. We haven't used it yet, still need to get the right receiver and ball.
Excellent product, installation was a breeze with straightforward installation instructions.
I use the toe hitch at least three times a month, it has made towing my small trailer and bike rack for the 2 e-bikes that I own A better option than renting or borrowing someone else’s truck to accomplish my towing tasks.
Very secure and high quality hitch. I use this for my bike rack as well as a hitch mounted cargo basket. I have had no issues. Installation can be hard, and I would recommend having the car elevated or use a second set up hands like I had to.

The hitch is still going strong! Great product. I definitely recommend it.
It was a good choice , hidden hitch is not necessary to achieve the perfect fit and not extend beyond the bumper.
Very well made and easy to install. Perfect for my Bike Rack.
Outside of some slight scuffs from ups everything went well. It was a pain to install the bolts on the passenger size because of Toyotas design, but not a fault of the hitch. Overall with the lift and a transmission jack it took me ~15 minutes. Recommend definitely

No issues thus far. I went in a few weeks back at service time and retorqued the bolts. All were exactly as I left them. I will say that it does hang a little low and I have hit it on extreme offs once or twice, but nothing outside of a scratch or two.
The hitch installed easily with help of son-in-law in about 30 minute onto my 2023 Toyota RAV4 Limited (gas). It did not require lowering of muffler as per the etrailer video for 2023 Toyota Rav4, but rather only required removal the tow fixture per the etrailer video for a 2022 Rav4. That is, we had to remove only the tow fixture, but not do anything with muffler. It was a super easy install overall with two people and backed up onto ramps to gain some room, just not quite what expected. I do recommend the purchase of a 19mm x 3/8 torque wrench adapter to get correct torque on the passenger side. The dealer quoted over $[XX] to install a hitch, really? The bottom of the receiver is 9" off ground which is a bit more than other clearances on the vehicle. This hitch was used with a Thule receiver mount the other day, and I'll remind everyone to turn off PKSB function via the display before using ;-).

The hitch remains solid and continues to work great with my Thule bike carrier. Ill repeat the reminder to urn off PKSB function via the display before using the carrier on vehicles with such functionality.
Product was great. On the install, it will be difficult to torque the passenger side bolts when only a flat wrench can turn the bolts (requiring a new special tool). A standard torque wrench worked fine on the driver side. The prior reviews mention the packing, and as expected the packing came with several holes where the receiver stuck through the box. I am glad I knew this, because I have a Trex decking on the front porch and was able to lay carpet down. Without that I would have definitely had porch damage/scars. The mounting plates of the receiver need to have foam protecting them or the whole packaging needs to be re-thought.
The installation of this trailer hitch was very straightforward. It looks great on my RAV4 Prime.
Preliminary review, the reason for 4 stars. Haven't installed yet. As many other reviews stated, the receiver and mounting flanges had torn holes in the box, but everything appears to be there, as the hardware was taped inside the receiver, and the box with the wiring harness was stapled to the inside of the hitch box. These items should do the job, mostly for carrying bikes. Will try to update after it's installed and in use. Would recomend.
Product looks great. The hitch broke through the shipping box and my hardware must’ve fell out cause all I received was the hitch itself and my electrical harness

I am sorry to hear that the box arrived this way. I wanted to see if you could check the receiver opening to see if the hardware is in there. We will often tape the hitch hardware bag inside the receiver. Please let me know. If it is not there we will have it sent out to you.
Good product overall. Easy installation. I used just a cargo carrier in this hitch, not to tow anything. The hitch is pretty low and will scratch on the ground if not carful. I mitigated the cargo carrier being so low by using a dual hitch extension and using the top receiver. I can't say this is a product problem, more of a height issue for the 2022 Rav 4.
There was a tow hook in the way but it came unbolted after some swearing.
Product itself is very well built and once installed l believe it will be a great addition to the car. Package was received as promised but was damaged in shipping and the hitch had parts exposed to damage. The hitch did receive some scratches to the receiver but hey, it’s a hitch and will eventually get scratched. Planning on touching it up with paint. I have bought other hitches from here and those had the same type of shipping issues with the boxes so I knew what to expect. Will continue to buy in the future if need arise

Another awesome hitch receiver, these are just great! This is my 3rd purchase from etrailer and they fit perfectly every time. They are very solid and excellent quality and make life very easy if you need to add one. Price is best on the market, can't go wrong, just a great company and awesome products!

The hitch was easy to install. I deliberately got the hitch that didnt require me to cut my rear bumper cover. After having in on for a year, I can say Id rather have the hitch that is higher in the bumper requiring me to cut it. with any significant weight in the rear of the car, the hitch is quite close to the ground around 4.8. This is not a quality issue, nor a problem with etrailer. It the hitch I picked when considering ease of install, price.
Gotta do something about the packaging. Shipping something that heavy in just a cardboard box is silly. Trailer hitch arrived with some serious scuffs/scratches.

I'm sorry to see that your hitch has received some scratches on it due to shipping. This does tend to happen and when it does, we recommend using a Rust-oleum type paint to cover up any scratches and prevent corrosion in the future during use. I have a link below for your reference. Received the receiver hitch today and installed it within 30 minutes with a little assistance from my wife. Took longer to torque the bolts than to hang the hitch. Watched the install video the night before and was an excellent video. 19mm torque adapter and ratcheting wrench a must.
It’s only 4 bolts. But you need two people. Getting the first bolt started on each side while holding it up was the hardest part. Wife and I struggled but we got it done. I put the car on jackstands and laid on the garage floor. Wiring harness next weekend. Sorry no pictures.
The box it came in looked like it had been through the wringer, but the hitch was in good shape.
Once I got it installed, fit and finish were great. Looks good.
If you are not mechanically inclined, the installation may not be for you.
This is the second hitch we have got from this site and have been completely satisfied with all aspects. Installation in less than an hour

We use this hitch almost weekly and have been nothing but satisfied with it!
My order was perhaps a bit out of the ordinary as it had to be delivered across the US and then shipped all the way to Akranes, Iceland. All who played a part in the delivery did an outstanding job and I would like to thank each and every one. The towbar arrived well packed on the nominated day and what I can see, in pretty good order. I'm not quite sure if one of the side plate has been knocked in transit or if it is designed that way. One side is completely straight but the other slightly bent inward about 10 mm. Nothing that granddads big hammer won't fix. All in all, I'm very happy with the experience and would definitely recommend etrailer products. Thank you.
The bolts lined up just fine. On my RAV4 Prime, I had to remove a tranport eye plate that was mounted in one of the holes needed for the hitch. You will also need to unhook the rubber exhaust supports so you can lower the exhaust to get the hitch in. This hitch height will be lower than the Toyota model.

Great trailer hitch! The hitch fit my 2023 RAV4 Prime perfectly and following the online videos made the installation simple and easy. The receiver sits below the bumper instead of up in the bumper like the OEM hitch, but the OEM requires removing and modifying bodywork for installation.

UPDATE: Weve used our hitch a few times to haul a small trailer and its worked just fine. No issues Id buy it again. NOTE: You should be prepared to hear road noise. Our other vehicle is an F350 and Ive hauled cargo trailers, RVs, and horse trailers and hardly known it. Just a couple of days ago we hauled an old small trailer with our car and heard every bump. I stopped a couple at one point just to double check everything was good. It makes sense since its mounted to the chassis and the interior of the car is like a resonator, we just werent expecting it. Since smaller cars will likely be hauling smaller trailers with minimal suspension, if any, dont be surprised with the road noise.
