Powder coated steel is sturdy and corrosion resistant.Originally, I ordered this for my pickup, it arrived, and hardware was falling out of the box, I took pictures, and sent the Customer support team an email, within not even two days, they replied, and told me they would send out the replacement hardware package, the hitch was just what I needed, and the Proper hardware arrived, i did NOT have to remove the bumper to install the hitch, I removed the bumper to re paint, all around very nice product, fit my 1993 Chevy C2500
Box arrived with loose parts/bolts falling out. Flat flanges that are to be bolted together have bent corners. End plates damaged cross brace of hitch... mostly just cosmetic, but still. Packaging left a bit to be desired. Packing 70 lbs of steel in a box with a little bit of paper and 1 piece of cardboard inside to "protect" during shipping didn't work.
Have to use it as it is, because I have a tight timeliness, or I would want the damaged parts replaced or return it.

Hitch is sturdy and has actually firmed up my truck rails. Only thing I wish the manufacture would send separate from the hitch is the stickers with all the information on them. First time you hit the hitch with the pressure washer, they are gone!!!!
Aaron - 04/01/2022 Aaron - 04/01/2022Great looking hitch receiver. Mounted on my 97 3500 dually long bed. Looks good and beefy. Installed by myself in about 20 minutes. Was a little unsure about curt at first being that my father in law bought an adjustable universal fit one for hit 3500 express van that flexed under just the weight of car trailer by itself. Haven’t hauled with this one yet but I don’t think itl move at all. Worth they money for the bearer actual fit hitch instead of a universal.
The hitch has worked as expected, doing it's job well. My only complaint is that when I received it, the finish had flaked off on both side upright panels down to bare metal. I threw some black paint on it to cover it but it still rusted through and looks gross. I could be mistaken, but I thought these were powder coated. Anyway, it's still a great hitch that pulls my landscape trailers snowmobile trailer car hauler and camper with confidence! Thank You. P.S. The truck has been painted since install.
It installed easily on my 94 Chev 1-ton. I have been using it for over a year and haul heavy loads in my 14k dump trailer without any issues. This thing will outlast the truck.
I'm very pleased with this Trailer hitch. Its super beefy and will do everything I need it to and more. It bolted right up to my 1998 GMC sierra. It doesn't come out past the bumper and fits nicely in place. There was one spot on the powder coating that had been scraped off, but I assume that was during shipping and it wasn't a big enough deal for me to be worried. One installation note though (applying to 88-98 GM trucks), my taillights were grounded to the frame next to the left side center bolt, so I needed to drill a new hole and ground them further towards the front of the vehicle (pictured below), which, again, wasn't a real issue for me, but I'm assuming others could run into that, and Id like to let them know. Great product, great website!
The hitch arrived three days after ordering and in perfect condition. I installed it on a 1996 GMC Sierra 2500HD and installation was a breeze. It took around 30 minutes and I did not have to move/lower the spare tire to install the hitch. Very happy with the entire process!
Item is as described, would have received 5 stars for install but was missing 2 nuts. Overall quality is great and seems heavy duty as described.
Jenny N - 04/28/2022Installed on a 1990 C1500 truck. Fits perfect even with dual exhaust pipes. The spare tire has to be lowered and moved out the way to install, but its not hard to do.

Nice hitch very easy to install and so far handling all my towing needs! Towing a 34’ travel trailer and up to a 28’ bumper hitch flatbed with a case backhoe on it ! Good hitch

What a great experience. My wife, daughter and I were able to install this trailer hitch in about 2 hours. We would have cut that time in half, except the previous owner had a custom exhaust installed on the truck and they placed the supports right where the trailer hitch was supposed to bolt on. other than that everything went well. I would highly recommend etrailer for any hitch needs.

All in all a good hitch. I installed this on a 2000 3500 Chevy with a service body. We removed the bumper hitch and installed this frame hitch. The hitch is great and went together well. The only issue I had was the hitch lined up with the spring hanger bracket rivet, so I had to drill out the rivet and install a bolt in order to get this hitch to work. No big deal, but took an extra hour or so to drill out the rivets. I would definitely buy this hitch again if I had another truck that needed it.

I read the reviews about etrailer before I made my decision to move forward with my purchase, I wanted to be an informed consumer, and I was looking for a great trailer hitch. I buy and sell cars and trucks, and parts for these vehicles, and I've experienced my fair share of wrong parts, late parts, missing parts, etc. This purchase from etrailer was the most seamless, and efficient delivery I've had, received my hitch in less than a week, easy instructions, was able to install it on my truck by myself in about 45 minutes. When I get ready buy another trailer hitch or accessory in the future this will be the company I'll be doing business with for sure.

I ordered on Sunday afternoon and received my hitch on Tuesday and installed it in 1 1/2 hours by myself. I'll never shop anywhere else for towing supplies. 10 times better hitch that what was on the truck when I bought it.
