Wanted a 2.5 receiver for my 2001 Super Duty. Went through two different DrawTite receivers first. The first one had a crooked receiver tube. Never tried to install. The second one I tried to install but it hit the bumper before being able to tighten up to the frame. etrailer was great about sending prepaid labels to ship back. Just a pain to have to re-wrap and take to UPS drop-off. etrailer would not send the Curt as a replacement. Got credited for the DrawTite hitch and I ordered the Curt Hitch. Had it installed in 20 minutes. Factory wiring harness mount bolted right up. Curt hitch is well built and seems to have a better finish than the DrawTite.

2006 Ford F-250 Super Duty

I used this to replace my factory Ford 2 1/2 inch hitch. This thing is twice as heavy and has a lot more rating. I strapped this monster to my motorcycle jack and installed by myself. I tow a 26 ft. deck over triple axle trailer. Thank You.

by:
2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Curt receivers are great quality, plus etrailer had my order shipped the same day and was delivered the next day!

One lesson learned for me was this particular hitch (15810) does not fit with the spare tire on a 2008 F-250.

Thanks again for a great product and extremely fast shipping and customer service! I definitely recommend using etrailer over large box stores.

You are absolutely correct, Joshua. Spare tires larger than 20 inches will not be able to be stored in the original location underneath the vehicle.

by:

The hitch is working great. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I had to use some bolts & hardware off of the old hitch. The new hardware didn't fit in some places due to tight clearances. But I was able to install it fine. Thanks for checking up. This reminds me that I need to get back up there & check to make sure everything is right & tight!

by:

So far so good! Easy installation and fit my truck as advertised. With proper 2-1/2" hitches (vs adapters) the connection is solid. I'll never exceed the capacity of the hitch receiver, so I expect it to last. A few rust bits where the coating has been disrupted, but so far holding up to New England winter/dirt roads

by:
2006 Ford F-350 Super Duty

Item was delivered quickly with all the bolts and it fit my truck perfectly.

by:
2000 Ford F-350 Super Duty

The hitch has held up nicely for the year that I have had it on my truck. It is very stout. The paint has held up well to the elements so far.
It went on fairly easily and all of the holes lined up. It was helpful to have a second person to help hold the hitch in place in order to get the first bolts in.
I purchased this hitch when I realized that the hitch that came with my truck was only rated at 3500lbs, a fair bit less than the trailer I tow..
The box that it came in barely held up to the shipping monkeys on the way out to the Seattle area.

by:

Awesome website, they made the process simple, kept me updated with emails, and delivered the product on time. Companies like this that handle their end, and keep good communication are things we need more of. 10/10

by:
1999 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty

The Curt 20,000 pound commercially rated receiver is is built like a battleship! And while it was difficult to man handle alone, I was able to install it using the eight supplied bolts in about 20 minutes. The fit was positively perfect, so someone at Curt did their homework on the design. The only complaint I have is that unlike my Reese Hitch, it did not include the 2" reducer sleeve. A lousy $15 difference! Don't be cheap, for this kind of money it should be included. Now I get to pay $25 in shipping for a $15 part.

by:

Excellent build quality and installation was very easy. Needed an extra set of hands during install due to the weight of the receiver.

2017 Chevrolet Traverse

Ordered Thursday evening just before Memorial Day weekend, and arrived Tuesday afternoon. Was shipped out very quickly with update emails through the entire process! Although the box was a bit torn up from shipping the hitch was still in great shape with all hardware and the wiring for another vehicle I ordered, in the box. Hitch is amazing quality, VERY heavy duty, and bolted right into place! I did have to forgo the nice factory wiring/plug mount and zip tie them into place, but other than that it was a perfect bolt on affair! Will definitely do business with these folks again

2005 Ford F-350 Super Duty

This unit fit so perfectly on my 2005 f-350 srw. Once again I'm impressed with this company and how quick it came in. Anything I ever need for a trailer I will do business with these people

by:

Order came super quick, looks and fits great! Was able to do by myself with help from a strap and a couple clamps.

by:
2001 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Fits the 2001 Ford F250 really well. It's quite a bit larger than the class 4 hitch we removed.

by:

I’ve never had any issues with the hitch, it’s very solid for heavier towing, all around a good product

by:

This is a very sturdy product. The only improvement I will suggest is changing the mounting system. Instead of 8 individual metal tabs to accept the carriage bolts, I feel it would be slightly easier to install if there were 4 tabs with two holes in each.

by:
2012 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Shipping was fast! Packaging was intact. Product was in excellent shape and installed easy.

by:

Outstanding product, higher towing capabilities. Superior Construction and Strength. Added feature for any SRW trucks, quarter ton or one ton. Maximum potential and peace of mind. Worth the upgrade to a Type V.

It has been a year since my type V tow bar was replaced. It has met all of my expectations and performed extremely well. Strong, sturdy, outperforming the type 3 it replaced. I have been capable of towing virtually anything my truck can handle. For best results and less stress pair it up with a quality torsion-flex technology product compatible with your Class V tow bar for less stressed towing. Long story short. I made the right investment for my business and my truck. Versatility is the name of the game.

Heavy duty receiver. Easy install, but definitely need two people because it is heavy. Will handle all my trailers.

Great hitch! I definitely tested it beyond its rated capacity hauling dirt with pintle hitch and a dump trailer without issue. Now if they just made one for a Dodge 12v Cummins?

You mentioned that you wanted to see if there was a hitch for a Dodge 12V Cummins. I am happy to look into this for you. What year are you looking for? Would it be a 2500 or 3500?

Bill

1995 2500. I would like 20k, 2-12”

by:

Holding up nicely for at least a year. Went on with ease. Just bolts on, no drilling. Has performed well to the weight specifications so far.

by:

This thing looks like it belongs on a big piece of heavy equipment. It’s thicker then my sister, but in a good way!

by:
2002 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty

This thing is heavy duty!! Much more so than the 5000lb hitch that came off the truck. Installation was a breeze, it looks good, and does what we expected.

Had an issue with shipping where the shipper damaged the shipping label and lost the address. After speaking a couple times with the shipper to no avail, I called Etrailer, and 3 days later, it was on our doorstep.

Thank you again!

We have exactly what you need. For your 2005 Ford F-350 Super Duty, I recommend the Curt Class V Receiver Hitch # C15810. This Class V hitch is confirmed to fit your F-350 and will provide you with the 2-1/2 inch receiver opening that you are needing. It has a towing weight capacity of 20,000 pounds. Because the hitch is custom-fit for your truck, it will use existing holes in the vehicle's frame for a no-drill installation. I have attached the complete written installation instructions...

The biggest difference between Curt 2-1/2 inch trailer hitch # C15810 and discontinued Reese Titan hitch 45297 is the capacity. The Curt hitch is rated a little higher at 2,700 pounds tongue weight and 20,000 pounds gross trailer weight. The titan hitch is rated for 2,500 pounds tongue weight and 18,000 pounds gross trailer weight. Of course in either case the hitches will be limited to the capacity of the truck as stated in the owners manual of your 2003 F-250. Considering that the trailer...

The Curt hitch part # C15810 will work for your 1999 Ford Super Duty. The spare sizing information is for the diameter of the rim and not the tire. Since you have a 16 inch rim and this will fit rim sizes smaller than 20 inch this will work well. I attached an install video as well.

  • How to Figure Out How Low the Curt Hitch part # C15810 Would Sit Below Bumper
While I don't know exactly how far the Curt Hitch part # C15810 would hang below the bumper of your 2002 Ford Superduty I can tell you how you can figure it out. I went out into our warehouse and measured the distance from the mounting surface of the hitch down to the hitch opening and found that it measures 5-1/2 inches. So basically if you measure 5-1/2 inches down below the rear frame of your truck that is where your hitch opening will be.
