Powder coated steel is sturdy and corrosion resistant.I am very pleased with the product but somewhat displeased with the delivery time.I ordered the part on 8-15-24 and it was in stock and from past orders my parts would arrive in a timely manner this time it took 11 days to receive my part.WHEN I did some checking I found the only address for e-trailer is in Wentzville,Missouri the Curt trailer hitch is built in Eau Claire,Wisconsin yet my hitch shipped from Salt Lake City,Utah it took 6 days from time of ordering hitch for,it to be shipped then 5 more days for it to arrive.
Install was very straight forward. It only took me about an hour, video was very easy to follow. Everything fit perfectly and it’s great that the hitch is hidden when not needed on my 2022 Subaru Ascent Touring. Great quality and price!
The install videos really gave me the confidence to purchase and install the hitch myself. Although I've installed the same hitch on another car, having the videos is a great benefit. One of the bolts didn't thread on as easily as the rest but I was able to eventually get it screwed in using a socket wrench, whereas the other 5 bolts threaded in easily by hand. Thankfully the bolt isn't cross threaded. I think it was just a small measurement miscalculation from the manufacturer. It also helps that I've removed multiple Subaru bumper covers so I have a good idea of how they're assembled, but still I appreciate that the install videos are available to the consumer.
Easy install with the step-by-step video instructions. I’m very happy with the hitch receiver. We’ve used it with various hitch attachments for hauling bikes and other toys.
Fitment was perfect, receiver came packaged great along with the wiring harness I ordered. Awesome quality as well not dinged up.
Minor damage on the hitch itself. Nothing structural but chips in the coating.
Installation was simple with a screwdriver, a wrench set and a hammer. About 80 minutes as an amateur. Installers in my area were quoting $300 to $600 so I feel pretty accomplished to have it done myself.

I've bought Curt hitches from etrailer for every vehicle I owned and this was no different. This is the first time I've purchased and installed this newer style (as opposed to mounting it under the vehicle) and I would NEVER go back if I had the option. This was the easiest install of all time. Quite honestly, removing your bumper is the only part that requires any effort, and still, I had the bumper off, the hitch installed, and the bumper back on in less than an hour, including installing the wiring harness.
I bought it to be able to utilize the Ascent's 5000lb towing capacity, but right now, it's being used for the cargo carrier in my pictures. Couldn't be happier with how it all went. Also, I don't know how necessary it is, but I purchased a torque wrench for this install to be sure I was tightening to manufacturers specifications for peace of mind, which I'd recommend.
Bonus: This got to me in only a few days after ordering, and shipping was free. Can't beat that!

This could not have been easier. I’m so glad I didn’t pay someone to install this. Great quality product. The instructions were clear and made for a smooth install. The only thing I forgot was the electrical wiring but I called customer service and Joshua K was extremely helpful in directing me to the harness I would need.
the hitch made it in one piece but the carton did not the end was ripped open I believe I received everything
Installation instructions made this a straightforward job, etrailer's how-to video was also super-helpful. Took about 90 minutes including cleaning up and putting away all the tools.

Install on 2022 Subaru Ascent Onyx Edition. Couldn’t be more happy with everything. Delivery was fast, and the install was super easy especially following the instruction video. Everything went smooth from beginning to end. My brother helped and it took us only about 30 minutes. Really happy with the product itself but more importantly this company. Highly recommend. I will definitely be using this company for future needs.
Performs as expected. My vehicle towing capability is rated at 5000 GVWR. I had no issues when hooking my trailer and hauling a ton and a half load of dirt.

I installed this on my Subaru 2020 Ascent. Install was pretty straightforward and took me a couple hours along with the harness. I had a buddy help me but this could be done with 1 person if need be. Hitch has been great. Helped move over 600 miles with a uhaul trailer and no issues.

I have had no issues. Been towing my dual Jet Ski trailer without incident.
Shipping was fast, hitch was good quality, and easy to install. Haven’t towed anything yet, but I’m sure it’ll do what it’s made to do!
Easy to install on my 2020 Subaru Ascent. Directions were very clear. Fit was perfect.
Great hitch don’t care for the safety chain hooks on top of the receiver but that is just preference still great hitch and looks factory

It could be a manufacturing issue, or there is a possibility that the bolt holes on the vehicle could be needing to be cleaned. I have a link below with more information on that possibility below.
