Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Honda Odyssey hitch installation I COMPLETED THE INSTALLATION ON SATURDAY MORNING...I DRAFTED A STEP BY STEP WRITE-UP ON HOW I COMPLETED THE INSTALLATION....I INCLUDED SOME TIPS SUCH AS USING A 1/2" CU TUBING WIRE BRUSH TO CLEAN OUT THE BOLT HOLE THREADS AND USING A SCISSOR JACK AND BLOCKING TO LIFT THE UNIT DURING INSTALLATION. ( A CRITICAL TIP FROM MY BOSS WHO IS A LONG TIME TRAILER USER AND AUTO AND BIKE MECHANIC)..YOUR INSTALLATION VIDEO'S WERE VERY HELPFUL PARTICULARLY ON THE WIRING INSTALLATION...I WILL FOLLOW-UP WITH SOME ACTION PHOTO'S...I AM STILL SHOPPING FOR THE MOTORCYCLE TRAILER!!!.........MY EXPERIENCE WITH E-TRAILER HAS BEEN OUTSTANDING...EXCELLENT SELECTION OF TRAILER PRODUCTS...VERY COMPETITIVE PRICING...VERY QUICK DELIVERY...VERY GOOD INSTRUCTIONS AND EXCELLENT VIDEO ON THE MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION. 4907

This is the first of two of these bolt-on hitches that I have purchased for our vehicles, and after one year of use, I am very satisfied with this item. Installation was relatively easy with some basic tools, and the hitch has worked flawlessly for use with bike racks and cargo baskets. etrailer has competitive prices on so many great products, and the BEST customer service you will find anywhere. Installation photos and videos are second to none. Thanks etrailer! 564876

I cannot grade the towing capability yet, but this review is on installation. Less than one hour from start till I was putting tools away on the same day of arrival. One man job with the assistance of a rolling floor jack. Put rear up on ramps, hit holes with wd40, used one bolt to test run all threads, did not unhook tailpipe, simply insert the plate in, over, and let it rest on on exhaust (majority of weight still supported by jack). Start with left side, place 1 bolt loosely and then continue to switch sides with two at a time. Used torque wrench at 68 lbs to finish securing. Done. Looks great too! Up next: electrical and trans cooler. Thank you etrailer for the product and videos. Bought the hitch bc of such great reviews. 177862

Chevrolet Suburban

I would rate this hitch 5/5 except the receiver was just a bit wider than factory-installed one I have on my Suburban. The ball mount rattles a bit due the excess play - not sure if that's by design. Installation was simple - thanks to ETrailer's videos. Didn't have help so I propped one side with a trash can. 92100

I have grown to accept the rattling of the receiver. My neighbor said what do you expect, its for a trailer! :-I would say the only negative thing about the hitch is it sits low enough that the receiver rubs cement on an inclined driveway. In short, one year later, Im happy I bought it.

2009 Honda Odyssey

Bought a trailer hitch for our 2009 Honda Odyssey. The only hitch (get it) was that it was delayed in shipping by one day. The delay was by UPS, not etraler's fault. We live in a remote part of California, so that's not very unusual. The hardest part of the instillation was getting the rubber exhaust hanger free. A squirt of WD40 took care of that. It bolted up perfectly, as if it came from the Honda factory. I also bought the trailer wire kit. My biggest anxiety was getting the interior panels off without damaging the clips. They came off easily and the wire kit installed as easy as the hitch. Overall, it took about 2 hours from start to finish. That includes getting out the jack, stands, tools, being interrupted by my two year old a few times and cleanup. I chose etrailer because of the price for a Draw-Tite hitch. I had found cheaper hitches online, but didn't know the brands. I trust Draw-Tite. We are in the market for a vintage camping trailer and this is what we need to pull it. I told my wife that this was easiest part I've ever installed. It went as straight forward as the instructions showed. Thank you etrailer. 501948

Our hitch is still working great. When the time comes to get a new vehicle, I’ll be looking to etrailer if it doesn’t already have a hitch. I’m very happy with my purchase.

This hitch has been great. It was easy enough to install, it fit perfectly, and it works as you would expect. My one complaint is that I wish the hitch was a little higher and further back (up against the underside of the bumper). It occasionally scrapes the ground if I drive down an abrupt curb cut too fast. 901327

great product. Only downside is that one portion on the far end of the hitch is preventing the last bracket from being popped back in for the plastic cover of the van. The plastic cover isn't really needed, it's more cosmetic. Directions were very specific and thorough. 898419

2014 Honda Odyssey

My only complaint is that, for me, the most essential tool for instillation was not mentioned anywhere that I could find--a tap for the dirty/rusty threads in the factory welded frame nuts. Rather than suggesting a wire brush for cleaning out the holes (which absolutely did not work for me), I recommend etrailer suggesting a tap (in my case a metric 12x1.25 tap) for a similar price as the brush. Once I used the tap, attaching the hitch was not a problem. I wasted a lot of time, frustration, and choice words trying to clean out the holes without a tap. My vehicle was a 2014 Honda Odyssey. 875677

  • Replacement Mounting Hardware for Trailer Hitch on 2008 Honda Odyssey
The Replacement Hardware Kit for Trailer Hitches # RHK is what you will need. You simply type in the part number and select Draw-Tite from the manufacturer. This will get you the spcial spacers, the washers and bolts to fit the factory weld nuts on your 2008 Honda Odyssey. I've attached the photo of the parts because you may be able to get the grade 5 hardware locally but the spacers that are needed may be more difficult. Reese # RP3022 may work but is a different width, the washer...

  • Towing Package for a 2008 Honda Odyssey
The trailer hitch I recommend for your 2008 Honda Odyssey is the Draw-Tite Max-Frame # 75270 because it doesn't require any fascia trimming (like the etrailer and Curt might). This, as well as the other trailer hitches, exceeds the weight ratings of your Odyssey so you can be confident that you are getting the most out of the trailer hitch. Be sure to check the weight ratings of your Odyssey in your owner's manual and keep from exceeding it. To finish out your towing setup I recommend...

  • Trouble Installing Trailer Hitch Bolts Into Weld Nuts on a 2011 Honda Odyssey
When trying to install the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75270 on your 2011 Honda Odyssey did you spray the WD40 and let it sit for 15 minutes or did you spray it and then scrub it with a wire brush for 15 minutes? If you haven't already try spraying the WD40 and letting it sit for about 15 minutes before cleaning it. If that doesn't work then the next option is to use the 12 mm x 1.25 Tap and Drill Bit # PTW8662 to clear out the weld nuts.
