Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

The original shipping timeframe given was not terribly long, but then it was sent and came in half the time! Hitch receiver fits perfectly on our 2006 Chevy Uplander- drill (2) holes in the frame rails and everything goes together seamlessly. Probably a 30 minute install once you figure out the directions. The directions were not amazing, but they got the job done.

After using this hitch receiver for about a year, we are sold. It has been incredibly useful. We are obviously not hauling huge loads with a minivan but it has been nice to throw a rack on the back for more storage on trips. It doesn't rattle at all and hasn't shifted even slightly since installation. We would do this again in a heartbeat.

@Jeff That's great to hear! We're glad your Draw-Tite # 75278 hitch is still doing a good job for you!

2005 Chevrolet Uplander

We received our hitch quickly. We were not expecting it to arrive so quickly. The hitch was exactly what we needed at a much lower cost than what the local dealers were quoting us. We had our dealership install the hitch for us and all went smoothly. The instructions were easy to understand. We also watched a video on how to install on our vehicle which also helped. Kudos to etrailer Corporation!

We bought the hitch and wiring kit. Being older we had our regular garage man install. No problem installing and it has been working great this whole year. I would definitely recommend this product and company for your needs.

The Draw-Tite arrived in a timely manner and went into place as promised. It was an easy installation using the instructions and online video. I have not yet used it, but all seems good.

by:
2008 Chevrolet Uplander

This hitch is not appropriate for a 2008 Chevy Uplander. I ordered it, dry fitted, and confirmed with Etrailer that it is the INCORRECT hitch. Also, not sure why this is rated as 3/10 ease of install vs the Curt 13336 as the Draw Tite requires drilling too 1/2" holes in the frame and the Curt does not. And yeah, yeah you can see customer comments that installed this hitch on an Uplander, but unless their Uplanders are different then mine, then those installations are wrong. Please remove this as an option for 2008 Chevy Uplanders....based on Uplander frame configurations, I doubt this works for ANY Uplander.

Perfect fit and was a straight forward install. I was impressed with the hardware pack and detailed instructions.

I've ordered many items online and several have never been delivered.
When I ordered this hitch from etrailers. com I was concerned this was gonna be another item 'lost in shipping' but I was excited when in just two days the package appeared at my door. Etrailers. com has made me a believer again. Thankyou
Thankyou Thankyou

2005 Pontiac Montana SV6

Awesome hitch, receiver opening is pretty much the only thing noticeable once installed. Using basic homeowner type tools and lying on the ground on my back it took me about 2 hours to install, and that's including a few short breaks. Hardest part was drilling the required holes with a 3/8" drill, had to step up in drill size a few times. By the way, I'm 68 years young, and the temperature here in Florida was about 90 degrees when I installed it so needless to say I didn't move too fast.

Looks great and easy to install (after a little man handleling).

etrailer.com is great to work with, shipping was fast and tracking information very accurate.

Phone support was very helpful!

Thank you.

This is as good as it gets, watched the videos they had for my specific model 2003 Montana, did it by myself since I had no help, no problem. Perfect. They send you everything you need so you can't go wrong. A+++, extremely happy.

by:
2008 Chevrolet Uplander

The trailer hitch fit my 2008 Chevy Uplander perfectly.
The biggest job was cleaning and tapping the existing weld nuts on the vehicle frame. After many years of Wisconsin winters, the weld nuts were in bad condition. I thought the handle nuts that were supplied in the hardware package would be a trick to install. To my surprise, they installed quite easy. A very clever way to add a nut to the inside of a vehicle frame!
I am totally satisfied with the product, delivery, and the amount of very useful information on the etrailer.com site. Excellent company!

by:

Fits vehicle well, but sits too low, and bottoms out over speed bumps in parking lots..Rear carrier bottoms out over very small bumps..This is with new air shocks installed..

. The hitch is of very high quality mat erial.

Videos were detailed and helpful. Easy install.

by:

Its been a good hitch it fits right and the price was fair!

by:

The service was good product was available for my vehicle and shipping was quick excellent!

by:

If you don't have an air compressor for shocks, it should take no more than an hour including finding tools.
If you have an air compressor give yourself at least another hour or more.
With the wiring kit and making everything look factory installed it took me about 4 hours.

2005 Saturn Relay

I openly consider myself to be one of the least mechanically inclined individuals on the planet! Needless to say that when my wife brought up the topic of putting a trailer hitch on our Saturn minivan I felt a rush of insecurity and trepidation flood over me, especially since she was suggesting doing it ourselves. After blacking out for a short period of time I awoke to my wife saying that she had come across the e-trailer website and that it was very helpful. Of course that is easy for her to say since I would end up being the one under the back end of the minivan with lots of parts and no idea what to do with them. However, after further review e-trailer proved to be different than the other websites. They set themselves apart with their helpful, detailed and easy to follow videos as well as their outstanding customer service. Every step of the way I had knowledgable and committed support if needed (even after the purchase was finalized). The parts arrived in a very speedy fashion and just as ordered. True to the descriptions and online support all of the parts were in fact proper fitting and as easy as described to install. I would most definitely recommend using e-trailer for anyone in the market for a hitch, in particular non-motor heads like myself.

On your Chevy Uplander, the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 75278 will fit with your load leveling compressor. It will take some extra time to make sure that you have the proper fit, but the bracket will reinstall over the hitch receiver mounts.
