Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.
Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.
In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Would recommend etrailer for excellent service and fast delivery.
The worst part of the installation was lowering my exhaust system. Took a little longer laying on my back on the garage floor.
I’m sure the hitch is quality, but your packaging needs some serious review. The hitch is poking through both sides of the box in 4 places — Possibly some extra cardboard around the sharp points on the hitch would provide more cushion? I’m sure I’m not the first person to experience this problem. I just hope the paint chips don’t end up rusting under the car.
I have ordered four hitch receivers from e-Trailers and this is the first disappointment. Box arrived with obvious protrusions of the hitch mounting brackets that penetrated the shipping box. The brackets should have been protected with styrofoam or similar to prevent breakthrough. It appeared that the box was dropped or dragged on cement, based on how much the metal was torn up. The result was the main brackets were significantly damaged, with raw edges that could not be handled without gloves due to the jagged edges and burrs. This also meant the protective enamel coating was scraped off.
I ended up hand grinding the edges on both brackets and then filing smooth so I could handle without cutting my hands, and then hand painting them with Rustoleum, for rust prevention.
This could have been totally avoided with proper packing and shipping. Picture of box are attached.
This hitch was a perfect fit. I use it for a cargo carrier and a bike rack. The instructions made it easy and were very well written. I would definitely recommend the hitch for anyone that wants to install on an Acura RDX.
After a recommendation from Greg M, I purchased this Hitch for my Allen Deluxe 4 Bike Hanging rack to replace a 1 1/4" Class I Acura OEM hitch. Exactly what I needed for my 2019 Acura RDX.
The ordering and delivery process was professional and efficient.
It's a bit on the pricier side but then again it's for a 2020 model vehicle.
The shop that I went to was able to complete installation within 20 minutes.
Much like some recent reviewers, my package came damaged. With some paint chipped on the ends that were sticking out of the box. I’ll still have it installed, but the packaging for their products needs to be better
This product is awesome! The install was easy! Tip, you don’t need to remove the exhausts. I just removed the rear lower diffuser and entered the hitch posteriorly into the undercarriage. It’s was so simple. The build quality on this hitch is top notch. I plan on using this hitch for a 218 lbs dirt bike carrier. Def recommend! Instal time : 45mins
Love etrailer for vehicle specific hardware and loads of information. The installation of the trailer hitch went pretty well on my 2020 RDX. The most difficult part for me was to undo the exhaust system mounts to lower the exhaust and then to re-attach them. It helps tremendously to spray silicon on the rubber mounts before removing them.
Great product. Fits perfectly beneath the rear diffuser of the A-Spec. Installation was on par with what I expected. After removing the exhaust from the rubber hangers it still only gave a small amount of space to maneuver the hitch into place. It is a very snug fit. It does stick out farther than I expected but not enough to be concerning. Looks great and will soon be mated to a Yakima HoldUp. Im very happy with it and it shipped incredibly quickly. I placed my order late in the evening and had a shipping notification by the time I woke up.
In shipping product was all damage, scratched bent , never received the wiring harness.
The hitch is well made. On the Acura RDX a tool was required that I did have. That was the only disappointment.
Excellent hitch for my 2019 Acura RDX. While the RDX can only tow up to 1500 pounds (with 150 pound tongue weight), I opted for the more powerful hitch for safety/quality since I plan to haul electric bikes on a heavy-duty bike rack. Great purchase.
I'm giving 5 stars because of the fit and the confidence that I have with this receiver.
My Acura dealer wanted in excess of 600 for a receiver that had less towing specifications. Thus I purchased from etrailer.
I installed it myself but I ran into some problems.
First of all, I recommend getting a muffler hanging support remover. Removed the hangers quickly. I happen to have a torque wrench. Also, I didn't need to lift the car.
Next, install and uninstall a bolt into each threaded receptacle underneath the car so that when the bolts go in permanently, they go in smoothly. This is important.
I removed only the hangers from the front and back of the left muffler. Didn't see a need to support the hanging muffler.
Remove the Tail pipe cover. Gives a bit more room to maneuver.
Note that this receiver is heavy and clumsy. As recommended in another review, have someone pull the left muffler away and get the upper flange of the receiver above both mufflers. Note that I also have a floor jack which supported and raised the receiver. It will then rest on the top of the mufflers so that you can then position for bolting.
The receiver is a very tight fit especially when lining up the bolts. The first three bolts went in okay but the forth (right side front) went in slightly crooked and messed up the receiving threads. Remember as I stated in the beginning, put the bolt in and remove so that it will go in smoothly for final installation.
Fortunately the instructions had the bolt specifications and I was able to borrow a tap from a nearby auto parts store and straighten out the threads. Torqued it down and it's very tight.
The receiver sticks out about 2.5 inches from the bumper which actually is good as it gives me some extra space to mount my 50+ pound electric bike from behind the bike rack.
Driving is solid and I have full confidence with this receiver.
I bought this hitch and SARIS bike rack from etrailer so I could mount two bikes on my 2019 Acura RDX. I had a local muffler shop install the hitch, as I didn't have proper tools. it took them 30 mins and $95. Hitch is solid! Looking forward to many years of adventuring! Many thanks, etrailer!
arrived fast and in good shape, some minor scruffs here and there but that's to be expected. Install was easy, neighbor and I completed it in 10 minutes.
knowledgeable, courteous , fast, personal service
they help you get the right product and personally follow through even provide their call back number so you can reach the same person again
that is hard to find these days
Great solid hitch for my Yakima bike rack. Easy diy install on my 2019 Acura RDX after I figured it out on my own. The only issue was with the install directions. The included directions, as well as everything I found online, showed having to remove the spare tire and move the exhaust system out of the way to get the hitch into position to bolt it in. I worked for about an hour trying to move the exhaust as per the instructions while still not making enough room to get the hitch into position without damaging the exhaust system. Finally I figured out all that needs to be done on the RDX is to remove the spare tire and a small piece of trim at the bottom of the rear bumper. The trim piece is held in place by 2 clips and 2 screws. With the piece out of the way the hitch can be easily be positioned around the exhaust to be bolted in place. 20 minute install that way!
Installed for future use of a bike rack. Fit was perfect and no need to modify anything on my 2020 RDX A-Spec! It does stick out a little (Approx 1-2"), but not enough to affect access to cargo area.
The hitch arrived quickly. I had a local mechanic install it and it took them less than an hour and cost me an additional $50 but worth it since I have no experience or tools to lower the muffler. It fit perfectly around the spare tire kit I have under the car. I have the Advance model and the only negative is it does completely block the sensors under the bumper which allows for the foot to activate the rear hatch. No matter where I place my foot, I cannot activate the sensor. Not a big issue but not ideal. When Acura installs their hitch, they have to install a new sensor. Of course, all of that is way more expensive.
Great product and easy installation. The only issue I had was when the hitch was delivered the box was all beat up either during packaging or by the UPS delivery guy, lots of chipped paint and scuff marks on a brand new hitch.
Very happy with trailer for hauling my bikes
This is my second order from etrailer and the comments apply to both orders, class two hitches and electrical harnesses for a Subaru Forester XT and a 2020 Acura RDX. The hitches arrived promptly, well packaged with no damage. I could install them with minimal fuss. Hardest part was loosening the rubber exhaust hangers. Everything lined up and works fine. Haven't towed with the RDX yet, but towed a trailer with several motorcycles on the XT for a few hundred miles in MD and PA with no issues.
etrailer offers a great product, ships promptly, at a decent price. Will definitely continue to be a customer.
Draw-tight makes a good product. Relatively easy to install. The RDX has dual exhausts. Each exhaust/muffler has two hangers- one near the bumper and one closer to the middle of the car. Using a muffler tool, I unhooked the left muffler from its hanger nearest the bumper. I did not unhook the left muffler from its hanger closer to the middle of the car. I didn’t touch the right muffler.
Next, to give myself some room, I unscrewed the ornamental end of the left muffler. (It attaches underneath with a small blot) These two steps allowed enough give to move the left muffler enough to install the hitch. I needed my spouse to pull the left muffler to the outside while I lifted the hitch into place. It cleared by millimeters. A car jack served to hold the hitch while I screwed in the bolts. Used a Torque wrench and a little red locktite glue to make sure the bolts were secure to the frame.
As for the torque wrench, the salesman at the hardware store hinted that I should buy it, use it, and return it. I’m not saying that’s what I did, but most probably people don’t have repeated need for a torque wrench. Some auto stores allow you to rent auto tools (you buy them and return them), which is a good option, if you don’t need this somewhat specialty product.
The muffler hanger tool - another speciality tool - was super helpful. Cost me $17. Probably could have dropped the muffler from the rear hanger with some WD 40 and a strong screwdriver, but space under there is somewhat limited, (I did all the work on my back with the car unelevated) so the hanger tool was helpful.
In the end, it took me about 45 min to install. The first 20 min were spent trying to contort the hitch into place without releasing a muffler. I finally gave up and took the steps above.
In the end, a fun project.
The hitch was easy to install it took me about 1 hour with no lift or jack. I had to lower just 1 side of the rubber exhaust hangers. Adding some soap and water to the rubber makes it easily for removal and to reinstall. It looks great and it is solid!
