I successfully installed it myself. Everything went well and installation instructions were good except for one step. The cutting of the bumper skirt to allow clearance for the new hitch were a little vague. I did manage to cut it but not deep enough into the bumper so during installation of that bumper skirt it wasn't aligning screw holes properly, but the snaps along the edge already connected. Made it work with plans of taking the skirt off and cutting the clearance deeper sometime this year and now it's a year later with that still needing to be done.
Have used my utility trailer many times and all good.
The hitch itself is pretty solid but the shipping packaging is terrible. Wish it was packaged/wrapped better for shipping. To avoid rust I painted over the exposed metal.
Follow the installation video and you can't hardly go wrong with this receiver hitch. It was intimidating but very straightforward installation. Very happy with the final product, I just wish it would have been packed better. A little bubble wrap around the sharp edges would go a long way.

Nothing exciting about a trailer hitch and harness, however they are of very good quality and have served me well for the past year,
I was most pleased with the lady who took my order, the order was filled very quickly and sent directly to a local service shop who in turn called me and set up a time for installation. Great service from all
Completely happy. Hitch visually looks just like the photos. Welds were all clean with no porosity or undercutting. Install was easier than 10 out of 10 difficulty. If you own metric swivel sockets or 1/2” drive universal with 12” extension; you will not need to drop the muffler for install. Install took me 2 1/2 hours. I like the higher tongue rating, and would recommend to anyone wanting a higher spec hitch.
Subaru wanted $600 for a hitch and $300 to install. I found strainer on line and order a better hitch for half the cost at Subaru. I installed the hitch myself using the install Video from etrailer. It made the install easy and it only took me a hour to be ready to tow. Thanks etrailer
Great product! Exactly as described.
Perfect fit. Great quality. Installation was fairly easy. Installation instructions could better quality. There should be a paper template for the cuts that need to be made in the bumper cover.
The hitch receiver came faster than expected. The video for installation was extremely helpful. I recommend this product
Fits my Subaru Outback perfectly.
-1 for no spare parts and different size flange nuts. One was a 14, one was a 16.
Packaging was not great, half the hitch was hanging out when I got it.
