Specs:
The EcoHitch Hidden trailer hitch is designed to be as inconspicuous as possible. The hitch's cross tube bolts onto your vehicle's frame, behind your rear bumper. No drilling or welding is required. Once the hitch is installed, only the receiver will be visible beneath your bumper. This means that your vehicle can maintain its stylish, from-the-factory look, and you won't have to do any major modifications to its body or frame.
With a combination of aerospace-grade aluminum, steel, and stainless steel, each EcoHitch is made of a strong metal alloy that will withstand the test of time. The lightweight alloy is composed of recycled materials. Traditional steel hitch manufacturing can use coal or oil, which can contribute to harmful gas emissions. The EcoHitch's recycled materials limit the carbon footprint during manufacturing, so you get a sturdy trailer hitch while also helping the environment.
This EcoHitch trailer hitch is tested for durability and sturdiness. Using Finite Elemental Analysis (FEA), individual points of stress on the hitch can be detected and remedied. Designers can accurately test the hitch to ensure that it will meet or exceed SAE J684 standards. The EcoHitch Hidden trailer hitch is carefully researched and strength tested for a durable, high-quality hitch that can resist damage while on the road.

This custom-fit trailer hitch with a hidden cross tube installs behind your vehicle's rear bumper, leaving only the receiver visible beneath it. Aluminum and steel alloy construction is durable and eco-friendly. Powder coat finish resists rust.I've owned this hitch for about a year now. I had it shipped to my home and then brought it to a local trailer shop to get it professionally installed on my 2016 Prius. I've used it in conjunction with the Hollywood Racks Destination E bike rack and it's worked great so far to transport two 50-pound e-bikes. The inside of the hitch receiver does show signs of some rusting due to scratches from moving the bike rack's bar in and out. I sprayed it with some anti-rust spray and that seems to have helped with the issue. I would recommend purchasing a hitch cover to prevent water from going in. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase and my experience with etrailer.
Installed on 2016 Prius, used Jack stands and hydraulic floor jack, tools. Did not have instructions for 2016 Prius, so used different videos and common sense to install.
1. Put jack stands in rear on each side, (metal support) there is a center lifting point
2. Remove all push pins (12) and unscrew plastic panels,
4. Remove panels, Center, Passenger, Driver, two Phillips screws, disconnect skirt from fender.
5. Loosen bolts to rear bumper, remove all (8) remove bumper, hammer in steel guide on bumper.
6. Put two bolts in backwards, inside area as guides for hitch and bumper.
7. Put hitch on floor jack and guide into place using bolts that are backwards.
8. Put bumper in place and screw all together and turn two bolts around, torque to specifications
9. Put panels back in reverse order, cut center to my picture diagram or make your own paper pattern and transfer, reinstall all push pins and screw panels in place
Shipping was awful. The hitch was just thrown into a box without any padding whatsoever. The box was completely destroyed and the hitch was scrapped of the anti rust coating.

The hitch definitely had a rough trip. Customer Service will be in touch with you. We can have the hitch replaced.
I’ve had this hitch for over a year and I have nothing but good things to say about it. Instillation is straight forward the hardest part of instillation isn’t putting this hitch on but rather the curt wiring harness that I got with it (great product it’s not hard to install either but it is the more time consuming of the two. With a grinder you can cut out slots where this hitch now lives and it tucks up nice and high under the bumper. I tow with a 4th generation Prius and tow a trailer that weighs 1200 lbs loaded down regularly and this hitch is great for that. With a ball on it my self as well as one of my friends stood on the ball roughly 400 lbs of hitch weight just to try it out and it handled our weight more than fine. In a pinch I’ve jacked the whole rear end of the car up using this hitch as a lift point (wouldn’t recommend doing that) but it did it. This is a great hitch which is incredibly overbuilt for going in a Prius. If you took the time to read this hope it helped your purchasing decision. Cheers
Online experience was good. The hitch could be packaged better. The hitch part of the receiver blew through cardboard in a big way. No noticeable damage though.
Installation videos are great. I will recommend that you buy extra body clips. They break. The clips you take off under the car at the lower part of the bumper cover are part number 52161-02020. I replaced all the clips I took off with new ones. The two small push pin clips in the wheel wells broke. I think the part number for those might be 90467-05170.
I installed on a 2019 awd-e. There are some videos out there where they only remove the black plastic lower part of the bumper cover. Don't bother trying this. You really need to take off the entire bumper cover as the etrailer video shows. It makes reaching the bumper bolts so much easier. And at least on the 2019 awd-e, the lower part of the bumper cover is harder to take off than the entire bumper cover that includes the lower part. Also you don't need to pull the bulbs out of the rear light lenses. After releasing each light lense from the car, simply rotate the lense and let it drape over the edge to the side. You also don't really need a plastic body pry bar tool. After you get all the clips off, including the two small ones in the wheel wells, reach your fingers under the bumper cover right in/by the wheel well and just pull off the cover. It does takes some force to come off, but I was able to just pull it off without the tool. When you put the cover back on, make sure to line up the two tabs into the slots that are right under the hatch seal.
Also note that the awd-e doesn't have the middle plastic that you have to cut on other models. There is no cutting to perform.
On a 2022 Prius Nightshade eAWD. The trailer hitch looks like a factory install, neat, tidy and only the receiver attachment is visible. We mainly plan to use it with our bike attachment but may tow our small utility trailer around town for light towing. Our local muffler shop installed it with out removing the bumper cover. He ingeniously was able to bend the tabs by pressing them in using a piece of sheet metal and a clamp. Install was only $xxx.
Very solid and relatively easy install - thanks etrailer for the videos on how to do it
Installed on 2019 Toyota Prius. Looks great, barely visible, very professional. Used for a bike rack for ebikes. Very solid with bikes carried.
Love it!
Install took about an hour after slowly following the very helpful YouTube installation video. After 1 year, no issues at all and has come in very handy.
It’s been a year and the bike trailer and hitch work flawlessly. Couldn’t be happier with the hardware or the install and service from etrailer. Highly recommend!
Installation was a challenge but I am completely happy with the result. It is robust, unobtrusive and practical. I use it to tow a small utility trailer and a for bike rack with no problems or concerns. A black receiver cover makes it practically disappear from view.
It’s been a year and still loving this hitch. It’s a tad rusty already, but that’s what you get with a steel hitch! Fairly easy install as well, and the 2” size feels so much more stable than the smaller ones I’ve played with.

Still working awesome. Zero issues!
It's a solid well built, simple hitch. It was so easy to install myself in under an hour, after watching the video.
On my 2022 XLE eAWD, I didn't have to cut out the bottom panel as shown in the video, so even easier on the AWD model.

I’m using the hitch for my 1-Up bike rack, and it’s been great. The hitch is barely noticeable on my Prius. Can’t be happier with it.
etrailer is one of the best, most efficient companies I have ever dealt with. That includes all dimensions of customer service, on-time delivery, product quality, installation instructions, responsiveness to phone and online inquiries. congratulations

The hitch is working flawlessly
This marks a year owning this hitch. Works great. Easy installation. Great purchase.
The biggest factor that I can put in the review is that it fits the car perfectly. The Response and communications are second but still excellent. Last but not least is the hitch arrived before the estimated date. This order was needed promptly, and E-Trailer came through for us. Thanks, and happy holidays.
Very good. Just what I thought it would be

Very satisfactory I would recommend this pr oduct to anyone
Timely delivery. Haven't opened the box yet, yet assume all is fine. Looking forward to installing
The product seems solid and well made. It took me 3.5 hours to install on a 2021 Prius. The instructions are well written with pictures. It’s necessary to remove some plastic parts including taillight covers and large cover over the bumper. Nothing broke, but it feels like that could happen. With a 1 up bike rack on it I had to turn off parking support brake and parking assist functions off so the car would not think a collision was imminent and automatically brake. I’m pleased with the product and only took a star off because installation takes some skill.

The product is very stiff, so that with my bike rack on it the bike moves very little. There is a little rust on the hitch, but not a serious amount.
Durango Motor Company installed it on my 2022 Toyota Prius in one hour! Very pleased.
It fit perfectly and does the job.
To add to my initial review:
No problems, 1 year out.
Perfect fit and good instructions. Install went well. Always very pleased with etrailer purchases

Solid hitch, would buy again
a bit of a challenge to install ( as I assume all hitches for this model would be) but it is really high and tight and subtle and I am very pleased as I have been with other etrailer hitches I have purchased.
