Hidden Design for a Clean, Factory Look

The EcoHitch Stealth trailer hitch is designed to be completely out of sight when you're not towing. The hitch's cross tube bolts onto your vehicle's frame, behind your rear bumper. No drilling or welding is required. Once installed, the cross tube will be completely concealed and only the receiver will be visible beneath your bumper. But unlike other hitches with hidden cross tubes, the Stealth goes one further. You can remove the receiver portion of the hitch for a completely out-of-sight setup. To mount the receiver, just insert it up into the access port that is built into the cross tube. Secure the receiver to the hitch with the supplied bolt and washers. When you're done towing, just remove the receiver portion to return your vehicle to its clean, factory appearance.

Eco-Friendly Material

With a combination of aerospace-grade aluminum, steel, and stainless steel, each EcoHitch is made of a strong metal alloy that will stand the test of time. The lightweight alloy is composed of recycled materials. Traditional steel hitch manufacturing can use coal or oil, which can contribute to harmful gas emissions. The EcoHitch's recycled materials limit the carbon footprint during manufacturing, so you get a sturdy trailer hitch while also helping the environment.

Rigorous Strength Testing Ensures Durability

This EcoHitch trailer hitch is tested for durability and sturdiness. Using Finite Elemental Analysis (FEA), individual points of stress on the hitch can be detected and remedied. Designers can accurately test the hitch to ensure that it will meet or exceed SAE J684 standards. The EcoHitch Stealth trailer hitch is carefully researched and strength tested for a durable, high-quality hitch that can resist damage while on the road.

2022 Tesla Model 3

The instructions were not perfect but okay. Probably because this was a 2022 Tesla. I cut the removable plastic cover to fit tight around the hitch. I did not install wiring for lights since the hitch be used for a bike rack.

Fits well. Only drawback is it doesn’t have the quick release hitch component. The bolt takes extra time to remove

  • Hidden Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2019 Tesla Model 3
For your 2019 Tesla Model 3 the EcoHitch part # EH84GR is the correct fit and a really great choice. When not in use you can simply remove the hitch opening portion of it and it's totally out of sight. There aren't any other hitches out there that can do this so it's a really great hitch we recommend highly. It would not void the warranty either as long as it's installed correctly. When you install an aftermarket part on your vehicle like a trailer hitch in this case, you are protected...

  • Totally Hidden Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2020 Tesla Model 3
We have just what you are looking for with the EcoHitch part # EH84GR for your 2020 Tesla Model 3 as this hitch will be completely "invisible" when you aren't using it as you can remove the portion of it that hangs below the rear bumper. I also attached an install video for this hitch on a similar 2021 Model 3 for you to check out as well. The process is exact same for your 2021.

When installing the EcoHitch Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH84GR on 2018 Tesla Model 3's they needed to cut a 3-1/2" or 4" oval l(the larger opening will just give you more clearance to work with) on the underbody trim to make room for the drop-down 2" receiver. However, on the 2019 models and newer, there is a knockout panel provided so that trimming is not necessary. I have attached an installation video that you can also check out.

  • Do You Need to Cut Bumper on 2020 Tesla Model 3 for EcoHitch Receiver
On previous models of the Tesla model 3, which the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch # EH84GR was also confirmed to fit, it was indeed a requirement that a section of the bumper fascia be cut to allow space for the drop-down receiver. A separate piece would then be recommended to cover this opening when the hitch wasn't in use to avoid exposure to the elements. The good news though is that with your 2020 Model 3, Tesla has made this process much simpler by adding a factory panel right where...

  • Is Fascia Cutting Required When Installing EcoHitch Trailer Hitch on 2020 Tesla Model 3
This is a great question. On your new 2020 Tesla Model 3, there is indeed a factory cutout/panel already present on the fascia that allows fitment for the drop-down receiver on the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7373. This means you won't have to cut the fascia during installation or be left with an exposed area when the receiver is removed, as this factory panel can be snapped back into place. On older models of the Model 3 this portion did need to be cut, but starting...

  • Installing EcoHitch Stealth Receiver on 2020 Tesla Model 3
On your 2020 Tesla Model 3 you actually won't have to cut any fascia when installing the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH84GR. Up through the 2018 model year, a square opening did need to be cut on the Tesla Model 3 to allow clearance for the drop-down receiver on the EcoHitch, however starting with the 2019 model Tesla added an integrated panel that can be easily taken off (and snapped back on) that provides the needed opening for the receiver. This allows for an easier install...

  • What Type of Lower Fascia Trimming is Required to Install Hitch on 2020 Tesla Model 3
On the 2018 models it was true that you had to trim a hole in the lower rear fascia. However for your 2020 Tesla Model 3 to install the # EH84GR It is no longer necessary to trim it because they come with a knock out in that location so that the lower hitch opening can attach to the hitch's main crossbeam. • Does the Ecohitch Part # EH84GR Require Trimming on my 2020 Tesla Model 3
There is just one modification that needs to be made to install the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 306-X7373 on your 2020 Tesla Model 3. You will have to open up the hole to allow the receiver portion to be inserted. The hole panel is already there on the models 2019 and newer, so you are not technically cutting. It is more of a knockout provided by Tesla. I have linked an installation video we did on the 2021 Model 3 to show exactly what you will be modifying.

  • Is Cutting a Hole In the Bumper Required for the EcoHitch Stealth Hitch On a 2020 Tesla Model 3
The EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver part # EH84GR is an excellent option for a 2020 Tesla Model 3. The newer models has a hitch knockout panel under the rear bumper which is where the receiver tube will exit so no cutting or drilling will be required for this step. The older models did not have this knockout panel which is where the note is from.

  • How to Diagnose Power Draw When a Wiring Harness is Installed
It sounds like there may be a bad ground somewhere. If your vehicle did not come with a factory harness, you should try connecting the ground to bare metal instead of tapping into a factory ground wire. If the ground is acting weird, it will cause all sorts of weird things to happen, including the battery being drained. If the vehicle did come with factory wiring and you are replacing it, the harness you are using may have a short in it. This would cause power draw. In this case, you would...

  • Is Lock Needed for Lower Hitch Opening of EcoHitch Stealth Hitch
While there isn't a locking pin for the lower portion of the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH84GR the good news is this won't be a high-theft item at all for a few reasons. Most people would not assume that it comes off as it appears like a standard hitch, even if they knew it came off they'd have to have the correct size wrench on them to remove it, and even if knew it wouldn't really be of much value to anyone. This is a super specific application which the likelihood of someone...

  • Does Trailer Wiring that Connects to Vehicle Battery Drain the Vehicle Battery When not Towing
While the # 119250KIT does need to attach directly to the positive post of a vehicle battery it does not draw any amperage unless there's a trailer connected to it so you do not need to worry about this draining the vehicle batteries when not towing. With a circuit connected to the harness amperage can be drawn but if there's no where for the amperage to go the pins of the connector (while active) would not drain the battery. The installation instructions for the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH84GR call for either a 3-1/2 inch or 4 inch hole saw. The advantage for the larger 4 inch hole is just more hand clearance to allow for easier mounting when inserting the receiver. I honestly just recommend going with the smallest possible hole (3-1/2 inches) as I'm sure you aren't overly enthused to cut into your Tesla's bumper fascia.
