This Stealth Hitches trailer hitch includes everything you need to hook up your trailer for towing. The ball mount pops into the hitch's center block so you can attach your trailer's coupler to the hitch ball. The wiring harness lets you power your trailer's lights. And the safety chain loops let you attach your trailer's safety chains. A receiver attachment is included as well for those times you need to use a bike rack or cargo carrier instead of towing your trailer. This all-in-1 solution saves you the headache of scrambling for missing parts, so you can get on the road faster than ever.
Nothing can ruin the clean, stylish look of your vehicle like a giant piece of metal bolted beneath the bumper. Luckily, with the Stealth Hitches trailer hitch receiver, you never have to worry about messing up your vehicle's lines.
This hitch installs behind your bumper, keeping the cross tube concealed and leaving only the ball mount visible. Even better, the ball mount can be easily removed from the cross tube when it's not in use, so you won't see any trace of the hitch. This means that you can retain that clean, from-the-factory look for your ride, while still being able to tow your trailer on the next family road trip.
This hitch also comes with a removable 2" square receiver, which can be used to mount any variety of hitch accessories, like your bike rack or cargo carrier.
Both the ball mount attachment and receiver attachment can be installed and removed in seconds with no tools required. Simply pop the selected attachment's base up into the stainless steel block at the center of the hitch until it automatically latches in place.
Be sure to then press the lock on the side of the block to fully secure the attachment. When you're finished hauling, use the included key to unlock the latch. Then turn the handle on the block clockwise and remove the attachment. You can stow the attachments in a safe place like your vehicle's rear cargo area, or you can use a convenient carrying case (391CASEC - sold separately).
And when you're not using an attachment, the included hitch plug covers the center block's opening to protect the hitch's body from dirt and debris.
Your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in your rear cargo area on the passenger's side, plugs into the included wiring control module. Once you've made all of the necessary connections, insert the provided fuse into your vehicle's fuse panel.
Once installation is complete, the 7-way connector will mount beneath your hitch. A mounting bracket is included to attach the connector to your hitch.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 7-way connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
Note: The harness included with this hitch must be programmed at a dealer before the trailer lights will work.

This was a satisfying install. The instructions were very comprehensive, everything fit easily and was clearly well made. All hardware needed was included, and the extra clips was a nice touch. I was happy to learn that my '22 XC90 rear bumper required less trimming than the instructions I had looked up which were for an earlier model year XC90. I towed my Mazda MX-5 650 miles on a U-Haul trailer with this setup and it pulled well. Unfortunately you cant adjust the position of the car on the U-haul trailer so it was a bit tongue heavy with such a small car placed forward on the trailer, but this hitch and the Volvo handled it well and it had plenty of power for the job (T8 Powertrain). I had the dealer program the tow controller without issue.
Thank you for reaching out about the Stealth Hitch System I purchased. I installed the hitch system today and the only issue I ran into was finding a place for the Volvo wire harness module. My Volvo has the Air Ride Suspension option and it was difficult to finds a place to install the module since the Volvo wire harnesses are so short. After some time I finally found a place the worked. I also had to find another place to attach the ground wire since the air tanks for the air suspension blocked the mentioned ground wire location.
I appreciated the new body clips that were included in the kit as about 7 of them broke during the removal process.
This is an excellent option for your Volvo XC90. When not in use, you cannot see the receiver at all. Installation was straightforward after looking at posted videos. The only negative is you need to make an appointment at a Volvo Dealership to program the trailer module. This took a month and cost $230.00. Otherwise a great product.
Install was a breeze! Product is completely hidden and also easy to use.
Overall, it took about 2 hours while taking it slow. Instructions were very clear and easy to follow.
I appreciated everything that the kit included, like the extra trim fasteners because I broke a few of them while taking the bumper apart. I also recommend everyone get a socket extension because some of the bolts are hard to access without.
Overall, very satisfied so far and looking forward to using it with a cargo carrier here soon.
Hitch came in two days with free shipping. Color printed instructions were included with the hitch and were very easy to follow.
Hitch took about 3.5 hours to install. I even followed the included instructions to program the car to use the wiring control box which was installed with the hitch. Easy and faster than going to the dealer. Required VIDA and a 3 day subscription from Volvo.
Overall very happy with my purchase from etrailer and I would buy it again from them. Thanks for making it as easy as possible.
This is a well designed and manufactured kit with extremely detailed instructions. The only hiccup that I encountered was when I removed the over-the-wheel moldings, a majority of the single-use molding clips snapped off. I just ordered some replacements off of [online].
Another note for buyers: after the Volvo technician updated the software, I tested the wiring connection before I left the dealership with a 7-pin plug with LED indicators. The indication that I received was a brief flash of all three LED every few seconds. I now understand that this is the automatic trailer sensing program. I turned off the automatic sensing setting in the console, and everything tested fine.
The hitch works wonderfully. I don't even notice that I have the cargo box attached except for the notice that the blind-spot system is deactivated due to the connected hitch item.

I am still impressed with the Stealth Hitch on my Volvo. It works perfectly with our cargo box, and even allows the lift gate to open without having to remove the cargo box.
We had a professional body shop install this hitch, works very well, as expected.
I recently purchased this product a year ago for my 2021 Volvo XC90 T6 AWD SUV to tow my two-place trailer (approx. 4,800LBS). I weighed out the option that Volvo provided with an electric break-away tow hitch and the tongue weight supported is lower which made this product the best choice for my towing Volvo needs. This was installed by my Volvo Dealer to ensure I didn't void any Volvo warranties provided by the manufacturer.

Amazing hitch! Love that it’s not visible when you don’t need it.
What an amazingly engineered product, from the fit and finish to the beautifully clear instructions! A little help from the You tube video for clarity and it was done. Everything came in two boxes and took about 2 1/2 hours start to finish. I thought initially that it was overpriced but for the quality and everything you need included it was well worth it.
Worked great and cam with very good ins tructions.
