This is my third time ordering from etrailer. Parts always fit and easy to install. I had no problems installing this hitch. I followed their instructionational video. I had no issues hauling a trailer from Virginia to Seattle. I would recommend. I thought I had missing pieces, I didn't, but their costumer service was always fast and efficient at replying to my questions.

Everything came as stated. High quality material and welds. Fitment was perfect!! I thought the bolts had fallen out because the box was damaged on arrival, contacted customer service and they gave me 2 options. They could overnight me new hardware, or they’d send me the bolt and washer specs and I could get them myself and send them the receipt and they would refund me what I spent on the bolts. Was awesome to have a quick response with more than 1 option to get the issue resolved. I ended up finding the hardware wrapped up tightly and tape in packing material that I originally thought was just protection material only. We have a 2023 Ascent and the 2021 video was spot on. Was quick and easy. Loved the list of tools needed so I could gather them prior to starting. Never had to go back and get a tool because they listed it all. Hands down best DIY experience. Will definitely be recommending and buying more from etrailer!!!
As others have mentioned, it is quite simple to do by yourself. There was one extra step for my vehicle (2021 Subaru Ascent LIMITED) that was not in the video instructions. The extra step was, however, included in the written instructions that came with the hitch kit.
The splash guard behind the rear tires must be removed prior to removing the bumper facia. Two 8mm screws.
Overall, great product and would highly recommend.

This hitch for my wife’s 2023 Subaru Ascent and it was just perfect. The installation video was to the point and I was able to install it on my own. I have used it mostly for bike carrier and no complains.

This is the second hitch I’ve purchased from etrailers and I’m very happy with it. I had the first one installed by an auto body shop, but decided to try to install this one myself since Subaru makes it easy. My 16 yo son was able to install it himself just following the included instructions. I can’t think of a reason not to purchase a hitch from etrailer.
I was on the fence about buying this hitch after hearing a few people claim that they were bad for the vehicle because of where they attached to the vehicle. However, after towing our little camper around for several months, I am very happy with the purchase! The install was very easy and a great fit for our vehicle. I highly recommend this hitch if you own a Subaru Ascent!
Ok, Im 65 and did not want to remove the fascia. My wife said I couldn't do it so I ordered the hitch anyway. Suffice it to say, I was correct in ordering the hitch. Watched the video and took 40 minutes to install. I always buy Subaru's and always put a hitch on. It's always difficult. But this is the easiest hitch I've ever installed! Thanks for the quick service and the great instructions!!!

Holding up great! I like that it’s hidden and with the removal of a couple fasteners I can install a hitch!
I just installed my hitch on a 2022 Subaru Ascent. Delivery was a day sooner than expected and all items nicely packaged. I had watched your install video and it's helpful information made my install go smoothly and easy. It was about 1 1/2hrs total time from prep, install to clean up for a man in his 70's. So YES, you can do it yourself
Ridiculously easy to install and 1/3rd the price of the Subaru one. I thought maybe there would be a catch with the lower price, but matched perfectly to the factory holes. Hole install took about 30 minutes.
Perfect fit, installation video was very informative and detailed. The main reason for the hitch is for my dog. I installed a swivel step, it fits perfectly. I was able to notch out a small hole to accommodate the step. Great hitch.

Love the hidden trailer hitch for my As cent!!!
The hitch received from etrailer.com was as advertised...a sturdy, well-built piece of hardware. The instructions and videos provided made installation relatively easy. Once complete, the hitch truly is hidden from sight. Will come back for all of my trailering needs!
Trailer hitch works great after a year. I was a bit nervous installing it since I had to remove the entire rear number, but the instructions were clear and everything fit correctly.
Install on a 2019 Subaru Ascent was a breeze. Took 30 minutes total. I followed the video instructions and it was easy. Shipping was fast, product packaged well. I’m very pleased with etrailer’s service and follow through. High recommend.
Super easy to install. The video is very helpful (video missed a couple push pins/screws that had to be removed getting the bumper cover off but other than that, perfect)

This is an excellent product that I would highly recommend for anyone needing a trailer hitch for a Subaru Ascent. It bolts on in place of the of the original bumper beam and fit perfectly. Following the U-Tube step-by-step instruction video made the installation very straight-forward. The kit even includes a panel which snaps into place to hide the hitch when not in use. I can't speak for other models of cars but for my Ascent it was perfect.
The hitch was received on time and complete. It installed just like the video explained. This is my second order with etrailer and everything was good. I would not hesitate to order in the future.
