Specs:
The sturdy steel construction is protected with a matte black finish for added durability. This unique powder coating gives etrailer hitches a carbide-like appearance and a rugged look that sets them apart from traditional glossy hitches. In addition to being rust and corrosion resistant, the tough matte coating hides dirt, scuffs, and dings better than a glossy finish.

This fully welded trailer hitch receiver bolts onto your vehicle's frame with no welding required. Matte black, powder coated steel is durable and corrosion resistant and creates a rugged look.Fit perfectly on my 2023 Honda CRV. Installation instructions could be improved a little on where one must cutout from the bottom of the bumper. Picture and instructions are not clear enough on exactly where to cut.
I have never had a hitch on my car and I took the leap. I have a 2024 CRV sport-L hybrid and it fit perfectly. It took all g time to get it into position and required lots of awkward positions under the car (no lift here), but it fit. And a 100# torque wrench was hard to find from a friend, but it’s installed!
I specifically bought it for my bike rack. The Hollywood 4 bike rack. I have lots of pictures below of what to expect. The jack itself does. It stick out at all so I can’t wack my shins on it. But it seems really solid. I checked the torques on it about 6 months later and they are all still tight. The only thing I have used it for is a bike rack.
Hitch works great for my bike rack, no issues there.
I do want to point out that the instructions alone are not thorough enough for the average person to install this on a CR-V. I had installed two other hitches from other manufacturers previously on vehicles and those instructions were adequate especially since I did not have to move any parts for the install. You will want to watch the video on the etrailer site and perhaps look on YouTube as well, every bit helps.
The biggest problem I had though was because one of the sides was pushed about 1 inch in. I struggled for awhile until I called for help and they said it could have gotten pushed in. I straightened it out fairly easy by standing on it and tapping it out with a sledgehammer until the measurent at the front was the same as at the back, at the shaft.
I would have given this 5 stars if not for this issue.

Works Great. I have been using the hitch for my bike rack and I am so glad I installed it last summer.
You cannot install it yourself! Those who did- you are heroes! The instructions video doesn’t even show how and which way to remove the first rubber that holds the muffler! I spent $[XX] on etrailer for hitch and bike rack, and now will have to pay extra for installation of the hitch. Why don’t you be honest and say that removing the exhaust rubber yourself will take you forever and probably you will fail.

A month later I tried installing it again after buying some tools. I did it by myself, my husband only helped to fit it first time, so I could mark the bumper with marker where to cut. Pry bar helped a lot to remove the rubber bands that hold muffler. Also, I sprayed it with dishwasher liquid mixed with a little bit of water. I used no lift and attached one side of a hitch with chain to be able to do it myself. Very happy with this hitch now. I would put 5 stars but can’t change my first review :
The hitch installed smoothly with the help of the provided videos. I completed most of the installation myself and used the help of another set of hands to lift the hitch in place.
Installed the hitch in my driveway without assistance. Required about 1.75 hours to complete. Not an overly technical job, but it’s also not something I’d enjoy having to complete a second time without a second person to assist. The hardest part in my opinion was removing the center muffler support due to space restriction. I found the 2023 CRV install video to be of more help than the 2024 version. I also used the extremely precise bumper and panel cutout measurements from user "skippyho" on the CR-V Owners Club website (thread: MASTER 6th gen CRV Trailer Hitch). The included instructions were generally only helpful in providing the correct torque settings. Overall, I’m happy with the hitch and ease of install.
recently purchased this hitch for my 2021 Honda CR-V. The main purpose I purchased the hitch is for a hitch mounted bike rack. The CR-V isn’t very accommodating for strap mounted bike racks. As for the installation of the hitch, I would rate it as a 7 with 10 being the most difficult. The etrailer video instructions are good and cover everything I think you should know. The video shows the installation using a car lift. I did the installation with jack stands. I would highly recommend getting the exhaust hanger tool. I did have a couple of different sizes of pry bar’s but the hangers were difficult to release. Also, aligning the CR-V mounting bolts to the hitch mount points took a bit of maneuvering. Otherwise, everything installed pretty much how the video showed it. The hitch looks good as noted in the attached pictures. Overall, I’m very happy with this hitch.

It sounds like that the side brackets were knocked out of alignment. This can happen while in transit to our facility or to you. We do have a great FAQ that provides ways to move the brackets back into alignment so the hitch can be installed.

Excellent. Definitely recommend this trailer hitch. But definitely need 2 people to install it. Recommend watching the instruction video a couple of times before installing the hitch.
Hitch for a 2018 Honda CRV. The hitch arrives as promised and aligned correctly with all of the CRV's mounting points. The only problem was with the location of the socket for trailer wiring which came pre-mounted to the vehicle frame. It's mounting point on the frame prevented the hitch from aligning with the frame mounting holes on the left side. To correct the problem, the wiring socket was removed from its frame mounting hole and allowed to hang.
Ordering was straightforward ; installation by my installer was without issue. Fits perfectly, works great.
I bought the hitch for my 22 CRV hybrid. The video instructions are definitely more clearer than the paper instructions that come with the hitch. However, the video only covers the standard CRV and not the hybrid, which is different, in that it only has a single exhaust, and the under body panel is significantly larger. It would be helpful if the video instructions could include some specifics for the hybrid model. Overall, the hitch fits well and will do the job.
The instructions were pitiful. All the black and white pictures were lacking any contrast. Noting talked about the foot activated rear gate, which is on all CRV touring models. The facia has to be trimmed but so does the plastic bracket that holds the sonar for the rear gate. Need to remove the lower sensing rod before trimming. Also the plastic guard underneath had to be trimmed more than the facia. No mention of how difficult the exhaust rubber donuts are to remove.. LUBE first. Good hitch with poor paperwork..

works fine after installed
Easy install on my 2024 Sport Hybrid CRV- just watch the install video, use a lift, and have at least 3 people to help.
Aligning the hitch to the frame took a few minutes and we had to unclip a wire harness on the left side of the bumper so that the hitch could sit correctly. We just left it unclipped sitting above the hitch, it won’t go anywhere. Dropping and reattaching the exhaust is also annoying, but WD40 helps.
We fully installed the hitch before cutting the bumper and that worked fine. We also didn’t have to cut any edges of the cover, we only cut around the hitch so that it was a snug fit with no gaps. Don’t follow the video on that one.
It looks like it came with the care and you can’t tell that anything had to be cut.
The hitch fit perfectly. Video instructions were spot on. The installation went smoother than i anticipated. The hitch is solid and work well. It looks like it is original equipment. There is no interference with the Exhaust.
Installed this hitch for a bike rack and it works and looks great. My only complaint is that it was a little difficult to install in the Touring edition of a 2020 Honda CRV. It took some finagling but it eventually fit. The handsfree activated tailgate feature no longer works but I didn't use it much anyways.
2021 CRV. The printed instructions said 30 min for a pro or 60 min for a novice. It took me 3-4 hours. I guess I'm just slow. Lowering the exhaust was not trivial. I went back and watched the video on the etrailer website a couple times. That video is what actually sold me on the product and made me believe I could do it. I think the printed instructions included (all on one single sided 8.5x11) could be easier to read if you broke things up to be more clearly sequential and a little larger and spread out to 3 or 4 pages. But all the information WAS there if you just pored over them a half dozen times. At the end of the day, I got it done and am super happy with the result. The fishing wires for the bolts above the exhaust were clutch.
I really like this hitch for my 2017 Honda CRV. What I like most is that the cross bar sits high above the rear bumper fascia which give the installation a really nice, clean look. The cross member is not visible. The installation was fairly easy. I backed the rear wheels up on car ramps to give myself some more room to work. It helps having two people for the installation. The only somewhat tricky part is that a small rectangular section of the bumper fascia needs to be cut away so that the rest of the fascia sits down over the receiver section. The section that needs to be cut away is underneath the car so it is not visible. The hitch results in a nice, clean appearance as opposed to hitch whose cross member sits below the rear bumper. E-Trailer hadsa very good installation video.
This trailer hitch seems to be very well made and was relatively easy to install. the installation went very well, but it was pretty much impossible to get a torque wrench on the nuts that were above the muffler, so I just hand tightened them as snug as I could. The rest of the installation was just as depicted in the video. The hitch goes on easier if you attach the passenger side screws (above the exhaust) first.
Received the item with scratches and paint rubbed off. I appreciated Etrailer offered a paint credit for the small defects.
Install is mostly the same as the 2022 (5th gen) model except you do have to trim two piece vs one piece and I did have to remove the fake exhaust trim piece to access exhaust hanger. Removing the exhaust rubber hanger is the most challenging part since I don't have the particular removal tool. Overall it's DIYable and it took me about 2 hours to complete without any previous experience.
Has been great for me. Would recommend. Took to shop to install it only cost me about 60 bucks. I'd do it again if I ever needed another hitch. Works perfect for my 23 honda crv sport hybrid.
This is my third vehicle to personally install a hitch on. I installed a class II hitch on my 2017 Prius which required taking the entire bumper and facia off.
The 2025 Honda CRV Hybrid was by far the most difficult to install because of the exhaust system on the passenger side. I installed it on the ground and getting the exhaust off the rubber grommets and back on again was quite a chore. I wouldn't recommend a personal install unless you have the ability to put the car on a lift. The actual install of the hitch took 45 minutes with no issues other than having to work around the exhaust.
Hitch is good, drawing for trimming bumper slightly off due to hitch assembly itself, I would prefer to have better preparation and more bright and clear instructions for cut outs specifically for CR-V Hybrid Touring, there is more cuts then in the instructions.
Hitch installed and set in place of the 4 frame bolts 3 lined up with lots of pushing. One hole on right side foreward was only 10 percent visible. Could not move hitch in any direction as it was hugging the wheel well(spare) and the center connection was against the tow hook as per instructions for theCRV. IF QUALITY control and test fixtures were used then this would be deemed defective at a quality manufacturer…. there were 3 of us doing the installation

It sounds to me like you had received a flexed hitch. This is actually very common and can be corrected by using a vise and bending the wings back to a 90 degree angle. Hitches are made with a flexible steel so that the hitch can flex while in use. If the hitch was made with no flex, then it could crack and compromise the hitch. I have a link below for your reference.

Working out well for my bike rack. Easy to use. Paint is flaking off a bit at the connecting pipe onto the hitch.
I purchased this for my 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid to tow a light log splitter. Honda does not advise towing with a Hybrid, but in Europe they do allow towing up to 750 lb.
Firstly, let me say that the install is a bit more difficult than on a gasoline version. There is a large plastic panel that must first be removed to access the mounting points. This panel has 9 plastic rivets, plus one 10 mm bolt that must be removed to remove the panel. Once removed, the install is the same as outlined in the videos, except the hybrid only has one muffler. The bumper must have a small section cut out as indicated in the instructions. To reinstall the large panel, a section of it has to be cut out around the hitch. Metal shears work well.
So, in summary, the install went well, but the large panel adds some additional work. I didn't see that noted in any of the other hybrid reviews, so I wanted to let others know. Once installed it looks great!
Fast delivery, fits my 2025 Honda CRV Hybrid Sport perfectly. I had a local company listed on Etrailer website did the install.
