Specs:
The sturdy steel construction is protected with a matte black finish for added durability. This unique powder coating gives etrailer hitches a carbide-like appearance and a rugged look that sets them apart from traditional glossy hitches. In addition to being rust and corrosion resistant, the tough matte coating hides dirt, scuffs, and dings better than a glossy finish.

This fully welded trailer hitch receiver bolts onto your vehicle's frame with no welding required. Matte black, powder coated steel is durable and corrosion resistant and creates a rugged look. This hitch was super easy to install, the videos online were extremely helpful when installing. Make sure that the weld nut threads are clean of rust and debris, as the two on the passenger side of mine were rusted and needed a lot of cleaning. Also putting a bolt in and threading in and out and cleaning with WD 40 helped for a much easier install. The hitch fits up nicely against the bottom of the bumper, there is no reason not to be pleased with this hitch. Great product!
My order was delivered without delay, as per the delivery date. Installation instructions where easy to follow while the item fits perfectly. Thanks a lot guys...
this is a gift and i wont know till after christmas if it fits. i only complaint was the shipping box was severly damaged by the shipper and i was worried the mounting hardware woud be missing because of the holes inn the box. thankfully the mounting hardware was taped to the reciever hole.. as per your review, i cannot successfully upload photos
Easy to install. 2016 Honda Odyssey.
The trailer hitch is awesome. I installed on our 9 year old 2011 Honda Odyssey. Like mentioned in other reviews, I had to purchase a tap ($x from [Hardware store]) and used silicon lube, even though the holes looked clean. I just had to periodically spray the lube into the tap's channels and installation was easy. See photos. I tried without the tap and it was impossible.
I asked my mechanic if he recommended any specific aftermarket trailer hitches for our Honda Odyssey. He didn't hesitate to say, "Use etrailer. They're the best." Ordering was easy, shipping was fast, price was right, and the install was straight forward. With kids, it's nice being able to throw a bike rack or hitch hauler on the back to free up some room inside. I'd highly recommend etrailer!
Came with box damaged, hole in end, tried to mount on my Odyssey, alignment was off about 1/2 inch, could be from shipping. Took it to my car guy, $115 bucks later it was on. I don’t feel it was your company’s fault, maybe better packaging could of prevented it from flopping around in the box. I’m happy with look and material strength. Thank you!
Great hitch! Installation was pretty easy. Installation took my wife and I just over an hour. The video posted on[line] by etrailer was spot on for instructions. Definitely a two person install, due having to hold in place. Installed on 2017 Honda Odyssey.
Very stable and strong. I've not testing any where near the max capacity, but there's no movement in the hitch under load. Looks to be a great product.
Disappointed with the trailer hitch. It has some rust already and welds are not the the best. I should have purchase the Curt brand. It will do what it’s purpose but when you buy a new item it should look new and not look used and old.
Great, straight forward installation. I debated between the 'hidden' version and the bar version. As far as I can tell from pictures, the OEM hitch is hidden in the center area, but the sides stick down similar to this style, so it's doesn't look that clean. There is a Draw Tite 76025 version that looks to be hidden on the sides as well which gives the cleanest look, but a lot more effort to remove the bumper, etc. This one isn't very noticeable, and hey, it's a mini-van - convenience is more important than looks. I don't believe the Draw Tite gets the hitch up any higher, looking at all the other videos, pictures, etc. So I opted for the etrailer version instead of the Curt, as the price was a bit better. I debated whether I should put the rear end up on floor jacks to give me a bit more room. Feeling lazy, I didn't, and probably should have just to give me a bit more working room. Couple notes that might help - Removing the drivers side underbody panel (that you can discard when finished or reinstall), there's a step where you unscrew a Phillips screw that is tucked in the wheel well. My minivan has the black plastic mudflaps, and even though there is a hole through them to access that screw, I removed the mudflaps - made it way easier to get to (and re-install - I chose to trim the plastic fitting and re-install). Also, on the passenger side, you can work around the exhaust pipe, but it's kind of in the way - I should have pulled it off the hangers (see the Curt hitch video) - would have saved a few curse words and socket extensions, etc. Don't forget the bristle brush to clean the weld nuts. Also, thread the bolts in once without the hitch in place, to make sure they'll go in smoothly. Overall, a pretty easy project to complete. One other plus - the fish-wire bolt installation is brilliant - it does go in as easy as the video shows, and works great. My only complaint is that I wish I had a hoist... :) Good luck!
The trailer hitch arrived and I'm really impressed the hitch is made of nice quality metal also the wiring is of quality not thin wiring or metal hitch very very happy
Fit my 2015 Honda Oddysee without issues and the video showed me exactly how to install it!
Great finish on the hitch, came in a fairly torn up box, but hitch looked great. Installing it took around 15 minutes. Great value, fast shipping… thanks etrailer!!
Hitch went on with minor effort. The weld pulled the mounting plates some but the pointed end of my prey bar put it right in
I wish all companies could be as polished and customer-oriented. I've bought two hitches so far from these guys so far and you can easily guess who will get my business for every future hitch. They do it right!
Hitch is heavy duty and was easy to install thanks to the detailed videos online. Love the matte black finish!!
This 2" hitch receiver arrived promptly as promised in excellent condition (only a few minor scratches on the end plates which I attribute to UPS). The installation video was spot on and fitment on my 2016 Honda Odyssey was perfect. However there was an issue with the threads on the more exposed passenger side frame rails. At least one half of the 90 minute installation time was devoted to spraying and wire brushing the threads. It must be noted I live in NY and they are not stingy with the road salt in the winter where every snowfall no matter how much accumulation leaves the roads looking like the Bonneville Salt Flats so the corrosion was not unexpected. In retrospect my time would have been better spent driving to the hardware store and buying a tap. The Eclipse tilting 4 bike rack I purchased from etrailer has perfect clearance so I'm 100% satisfied.
Very easy to install on Odyssey 2012. Put back wheels on ramps and put hitch on as one person using jack stands and wood board to hold it while I installed 1 side at a time using etrailer.com video. Hitch looks great and worked well .
This was a easy install and I’ve towed motorcycles at least 10-15 with a 5x8 trailer that is reinforced and much heavier than your average 5x8 trailer also moved a couple people and made many trips to Home Depot as well
Perfect product. The installation videos on here are so well done and a huge reason why I shop at etrailer. Hats off to this phenomenal site and staff
2012 Honda Odyssey - 1 man installation. Packaging: the product arrived on-time! BUT the packaging is not what it should be for a 43lb, piece of metal. The box was torn from the inside out by each edge of the hitch brackets. (I'm 2 states away, a longer journey, may have led to increased package or product damage). Product: I ordered Matte Finish. The product appeared to have even coating (paint) except near the receiver, and on bracket edges where some of the paint, was missed or rubbed off in shipping. Product fit was excellent! All mounting holes lined up perfectly. Installation: (2.5 total hours 1.5 hours tapping + 1 hour installing) WEAR SAFETY GLASSES... YOUR LOOKING UP ... DIRT & RUST SEEMed TO BE DROPPING LIKE A SUMMER RAIN. 1. Ensure you pre-clean the weld nuts on your car, with the appropriate bolt and/or tap. I highly recommend you tap each of (5) weld nuts. Use (Irwin Hanson, #8344 steel plug tap, 12mm in size with 1.75 thread pitch for a Honda Odyssey) & lubricate the vehicles weld nuts thru to ensure the bolts will engage easily. 2. I inspected the hitch. Touched up (paint) hitch exposed metal & then WAX'ed the whole hitch. 3. As a solo installer, I had to elevate the hitch under the vehicles mounting holes. The Vehicle was 1st driven onto [brand] Auto Ramps. TIP: I put the hitch on top of a stacked elevation consisting of: two 5 gallon plastic pails (right & left side) with (2) 2x4'x (four total) on top of the barrels. This allowed the provided 12mm bolts to thread thru the hitch plate and reach ea. weld nut threads for tightening. (piece of Cake) The provided wire fish system for the lone bolt and nut on drivers side was AMAZING and worked great, thanx eTrailer. Cut the vehicle plastic cover on driver side with a tin snips, piece of cake. Performance: not sure yet, just installed it, but my 2" receiver fit like a dream.
As always, etrailer has come through with a great product. Installation was easy and the satin finish on the receiver looked great. The installation video on their website made it a whole lot easier.
I've installed 4 hitches on different vehicles and this by date was the best fit and easiest install ever. After reading the instructions took no more than 20 mins and my van now has a hitch. Not to mention it got to me in 3 days after purchasing. Couldn't be more pleased
The hitch receiver I purchased was a great addition to our minivan. It has allowed us to travel with more supplies for long trips and keep the vehicle less cluttered. Installation and instructions were easy to follow. I would recommend this product.
