Tom - 04/24/2022So far, I like it! It's heavier than what we thought and I haven't put it on my car yet but hubby has and he's really liking how easy it was to get on my car! It is so much easier for me to get bike on it and lockdown!! I look forward to being able to get the bike on by myself and go riding! The only drawback is I drive a Ford Escape, when the bikes are on, you can't let the back hatch open. The Escape's hatch goes lower so even with the tilt, the hatch hits the bike. It's not a deal breaker, my hubby is a very smart man so he'll figure out something to use that can protect the car hatch and bike for the occasional 'Ooops" !
This is a sturdy hitch receiver! You'll definitely want two people for the install or maybe some type of jack as this thing is heavy and awkward when upside down. Make sure you have the tool to make the holes for the bolts a little bigger but other than that the directions were perfect. I've had this on our Escape for almost a year on the salt heavy roads of Indiana and there's no signs of rust at all. I like how you can only see the 2" received square and not all the support steel like other systems have! I would recommend this receiver!
I've had my trailer hitch for a year now. I use it for my bike rack and am very satisfied with its performance.

Do not order much on-line , this was easy and showed up at my door in a really quick time frame , woulda gave it 5 stars but I have to put it on , the hardware I seen on the video was exactly what came in box . Will let everybody know how it goes
Dan - 03/28/2022Thank you etrailer. My product arrived today and in perfect condition. The whole process was very informative and simple to proceed with. I have not done the install as of yet but will very soon. I’m also impressed with the quality of the hitch (heavy duty)
Was satisfied with shipping Speed. Installed it myself in four hours. Probably Two hours if i had a lift to raise car so i could stand under it and also have help lifting it in place. I used a floor jack to help raise and position it in place. Video provided on etrailer web site was the main reason i bought from etrailer as it showed the installation on my make and model of car. Price was also competitive. Would recommend etrailer to others.
Thomas - 10/05/2021I purchased the Class III hitch and harness for my 2017 Ford Escape. First thing I noticed was the quality of the product. I love supporting American businesses that take pride in their product. I watched the online installation videos that were very helpful. I installed the hitch and harness without issue. You will need an extra set of hands though, installation is a bit awkward for one person.
Was pretty easy to put in and bolted up without issue (I didn’t torque 2 of the bolts due to not having a torque wrench that would fit in the area but a few ugga duggas held fine) after a year not sure how it’s still holding up but for the month I had the vehicle after install it towed my 8x10 trailer with my quad on it a few times with no issue and also towed my 3k camper with no problem would definitely buy again if I get another escape
Product came early, the instruction video was rock solid. It was a bit more struggle installing it without a lift, but everything fits and is in good order.
The hitch was bent where it would not fit between the frame rails. Because of lack of time to meet our delivery date I had given our customer. We had to put in a vise and bend the side rails to fit the car.
Sierra K - 10/18/2021This product meet my expectations. Everything was packaged well with no damage during shipping. Watching the YouTube video in advance really made it easy to install. My brother and I had it under my 2013 escape se in under an hour. It fit perfectly with no issues with install. I highly recommend this hitch for all escape owners. I will definitely be shopping with etrailer in the future. Thanks for selling great products.
The best advice I can give, is to measure everything before attempting to fit this hitch. The mountings on my hitch were too narrow to fit around the frame rails. I didn't realize this until after I spent the time and effort to get it into place. It was about 0.25-0.5 inches too narrow to fit around the frame. Customer support was helpful and pointed me to this page: https://www.etrailer.com/faq-my-trailer-hitch-doesnt-fit.aspx This would have been helpful information before attempting to install. I ended up using a bottle jack to bend it open wide enough to fit around the frame. The hitch also was not packed very well because one end had poked out of the box by several inches. Due to the packing, installation, and other work due to flexing, the nice finish that was once on the hitch is now scratched off. Overall, the hitch is very sturdy and will hold up, but installation was much more difficult due to the "flexing". This should be pointed out on the install sheets and installation videos. Without these issues, my rating would be much higher.
The hitch was delivered 1" bent and was not installable. I had to take it to a machine shop and have it straightened. Knowing that the damage was do to shipping I didn't hold etrailer accountable. Was fixed it fit like a glove and is performing well!
Very solid and well constructed. Was actually worried before I did the install, your difficulty rating was a 9 out of 10 for this item but the installation went smooth with help of the installation videos that y'all included in the descriptions on this site.
Shipping was actually faster than expected. Installation was only a bit difficult, but final results are fantastic. The product is very secure and I love that it can remain on the car and I still have easy access to the back. It's very easy to lower the rack for that convenience.
I have this installed by local mechanic, he said it was easily done and look like a good quality hit so I'm very pleased with the hitch. It was also very nice to be able to talk to someone not just leave a message and they never return a call. As far as I'm concerned this is the only place to buy a hitch from!

Glad I bought this hitch, installed it on a new 19 Escape S. Required only slight modification to an existing hole to accomodate the hardware, little undercoating--bolted right up. Asthetics are great, mostly hidden by bumper cover. I usually don't do reviews but I love this trailer hitch, would buy again.

I was thinking about buying a pickup truck, but by installing the hitch, I got the hauling capacity I needed for a lot less money. I also plan to buy a cargo carrier for deer season so I don’t have to haul game inside my Escape
Install video very helpful. Watched 3 times before install, installed single handed. only part they did not go over was removal of forward hanger, exhaust
The Etrailer hitch looks well made and arrived without paint scratches. I really like the flat finish. Installation was super easy thanks to the great videos from Etrailer and the fit was perfect. I would definitely order it again.
After one year and many uses, the hitch and the wiring kit have performed flawlessly. Great fit and great company to deal with.
