Great fit, easy installation (great directions) and great value. I could not be more pleased!
Great reinforced steel hitch and perfect for my 2016 Mazda CX-5. Installation was easy, would recommend pre-setting the washers with tape on the inside. Made it much easier! Love that it came with all the nuts and bolts too.
The hitch itself is very high quality. Etrailer does an amazing job with their install videos! This is the second hitch I’ve ordered from them and install was very straight forward on my new CX-5. My only complaint would be the packaging, my box was destroyed during shipping(not their fault) but was very lucky to not have any damage, I would recommend them wrapping the whole thing in some protective so if it does break through the box it would get damaged.
Installation was fairly easy and straightforward the videos were a great help to watch before installation. The quality of the hitch was excellent fit and finish was perfect.
this product is super sturdy and well made. instruction video was good. it was a bit harder than anticipated to get it to clear my bumper, but installed fine in about 1 hr DIY. i was missing one conical washer and had one extra bolt in parts bag, hence 1-star demotion.
The video they make helped me get this installed in about 30 minutes. Great instructions and a VERY nice hitch. I highly recommend doing business here. It’s my second orlurchade form this company.
I have used it several times to tow a trailer and for my bike rack. It took me roughly 3 hours to install mostly because I wanted to get everything correct the first time and I was installing the wiring harness along the undercarriage to the battery. It stays neatly hidden but is there when you need it.
etrailer does an excellent job with they're instructions and videos. Very helpful - even for the seasoned "do it yourselfer" to watch a video before attempting install. It also makes it a lot easier to have a second person helping with the install. Most importantly, the hitch fits well and is very solid, but it also looks great. It sits high and most of it's structure is hidden up under the vehicle.
Just installed an etrailer.com class III receiver hitch on my 2019 Mazda CX-5. I’m impressed with the quality of the hitch, hardware and the provided fish wires for manipulating 2 carriage bolts and square hole spacers through the frame rails. They made that part of the job trivial. Hardest part was rigging up my floor jack and jack stands to hold up the hitch while I wrestled it into place. Now on to the trailer harness install.
Great video of installation and quick shipping. They even provide an e-mail after delivery with a link for all the trailer information. Very easy to install. This is my second trailer hitch from etrailer and have nothing but good things to say. They provide good comparisons between the different compatible trailer hitch options.

Great instruction video for my exact Make and Model and Year, 2017 Mazda CX5; amazing! Will recommend. Was recommended by my father in law.
From ordering to receipt of package was timely and as promised. It's been only a couple of days since I've installed it but the hitch looks of high quality. The installation video was very helpful. You definitely need a second of pair of hands especially if you are going to install it with the car on the ground. Also, if you have wiring (attached with clips) on the side rail, remove one additional clip towards the center of the car as this will allow for more play in the wire and therefore make it easier to position the hitch.
The hitch works perfectly on my 2021 Mazda CX-5. I had a local shop install it and was charged one hour of labor. I'm using the hitch for a two-bicycle rack.

We received our order with the receiver sticking out of the box and all the installation hardware missing. They need to improve their packaging.
Sierra K - 10/28/2021This installed well. My main issue was not cleaning the tape off of the frame well enough. When you scrape the tape that covered the weld nut and the frame holes, make sure you get it all off or else it's a BEAR to get the bolts pulled through. You end up with the tape covering the threads and the bolt wont fit. I installed the back bolts first and had no issues.
I was pleasantly surprised by how easy and straightforward it was to install this hitch. I am handy, but not a car person. My expectation was that there was going to be at least one issue during installation where I would have to stop and get something, but everything except some basic tools was included in the package. The video instructions were incredibly helpful with all the little tips to make life easier, especially being specific to the model year of the car. The hitch itself feels sturdy and looks clean on the car.
Did some shopping around and came across trailer here. One of the best prices I could find so I went ahead and purchased it. I don’t typically do car work really but I decided to give it a shot. Used the car lift at work followed video instructions I found online for my car. Took about an hour total with help when lifting the actual hitch up, into the undercarriage. Had to shimmy it around to get it snug but it went in fine after some elbow grease. Had a left over bolt and washer that was not needed. The fishing line for the bolts were extremely useful and actually very easy to use. Utilize the video, get an extra hand for lifting the hitch and you’ll be good to go! Definitely spray some lubricant on those muffler/exhaust rubber supports cause they were a pain to take off!
Bought for and installed on a new 2021 Mazda CX5. Excellent product. Heavy duty with quality welds and finish. It fit perfectly, looks like it came equipped on the car from the factory. Price is excellent - this is a high quality product for the money. One nit: it was shipped in a heavy cardboard box but still had a couple paint scuffs from transit. None were in visible areas and easily rectified with spray paint before install. This could be avoided by wrapping the hitch in bubble wrap before boxing it up. Just FYI: It took me one hour and 45 mins to do the install solo with the rear of the car raised 6" on ramps. I had no problems. One thought: not sure how necessary the ratchet strap under the exhaust really is - I had to lower the exhaust till the strap was loose anyway in order to get enough clearance to get the hitch past and above it.
I will be installing the hitch in a few days. At this point, I am impressed with the etrailer service, shipping and the quality of the hitch itself. I look for to the install and use of this very nice product! I should also mention the very good and competitive price.
Box was poorly packed. Arms of hitch were slightly bent. Installer had to tweak to install. Item itself is fine though.
Jenny N - 03/10/2022Very happy with this purchase, I love the powder coated finish. Easy to install and the instructions provided were good and the instruction video was very helpful also. Definitely need 2 people for install on the Mazda CX-5. I highly recommend this product.
Unit was not as identified, false projections on what it would fit. I had unit on rolling floor jack, the main cross member makes contact with bottom of bumper before unit is high enough to use pre drilled mounting holes. Vertical measurement from holes to top of cross member is 3”. My vertical measurement from holes in frame to bottom of bumper and brace is 5 1/2”.
