The grease cap on this hub-and-drum assembly is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Install this hub-and-drum assembly on your trailer. Fits 5,200-lb to 7,000-lb E-Z Lube axles. The brake assemblies and hubs arrived on time and the installation was easy. The only negative was one of the drum assemblies arrived with a crushed seal and the outer bearing cage was bent up. I know etrailer would have sent replacement parts but do to time constraints I made a trip to our local trailer parts store. $20 later and a little time I was back to work. There was no damage to the box. The bag with the bearings and seal in it got to where it could get damaged by the weight of the drum.
Delivered quick and timely. I was surprised to see how much better made this drum assembly was compared to the equivalent manufactured and sold by Lippert. Will be replacing the other three drums on our trailer with this Dexter drum assembly.

I had 15" six lug hub and drum assembly which held all I could load on them, like I said I just did not feel safe so I went with this hub and drum assembly which came with all necessary items for the install, and it allowed me to put 16" tires with a heavier weight rating. Very pleased.

The US made Dexter axle was worth the wait. The shipping through UPS was not the best experience for getting heavy items to Alaska. etrailer customer service was great at resolving the issues with UPS.
I purchased 4 of these to convert a trailer to 8 lug rims. The kits arrived but one bearing was damaged prior to arrival. Carol shipped a new one no questions asked. Great customer service. Thank you.

I ordered this as spare hub assembly for my 5th Wheel RV. We are leaving next month on a 5000+ mile, 3 month trip. I figure if I have a bearing go bad I can swap out the whole hub and be back on the road in no time. The hub is the same Dexter hub that I have on my rig now.
Shipping was fast and free, Helen was great, helping me find the part numbers of some of the other accessories that I needed to have spares of. Speaking of shipping I had checked other places for the hub and while the price was similar the freight charges were half the price of the hub. I will definitely be giving trailer my business going forward.

Al - 03/31/2015Overall service was good but I had issues with some of my parts that were damaged during shipping or which were faulty. All issues were resolved and customer service reps were helpful. My only complaint is loss of time waiting on replacements to show up and waiting on the phone to speak to a rep.
Was great that the trailer hub and drum included new pressed in races with bearings, grease seal, nut and keeper. The convenience of having everything in one package saves you the hassle trying to look up and order these components separately.
Likewise, the trailer brake assemblies. take old assy off, put new one on w 5 bolts. Glad the instructions included proper torque spec. Else - how would you know?
Had to lightly sand slight bevel (1/64 ") at outer edge of each brake shoe. Drum fit quite tight or wouldn't fit at all w/o slight edge bevel to allow you to get it started.

I needed 4 new Dexter drums for my camper but my local dealership only had 3 in stock and had no idea when they could get another one. So I found one on etrailer and ordered, the new drum was on my porch 3 days later. Very happy with my order except for the fact that the part was $30 plus more at etrailer then at my local dealership. Shipping was fast and free. Overall a good experience.

Puchased hub to put additional set of brakes to dual axle flatbed. Fit my Lippert no 602645 6000 lb axle. Have not test drove yet. Be sure to grab some bolts to fasten new brake assembly. Got new never adjust brakes which fit but got beat up in transport.
